This is likely to be the one and only time I post in the Sport section - but this incensed me so much, it now only incensed me but it shamed me.

Although I have no interest, whatsoever, in football, Newcastle would be the team of choice if I ever decided to support anyone.

Anyway, did you see Lee Boyer and Kieran Dyer fighting on the pitch on Saturday??

They apologised in a news conference afterwards!! Is that enough?

Apparently Northumbria Police are now looking at the footage to see if offences occurred - which they plainly did.

I am sorry but both these two should be sacked, if not both then the aggressor should definitely be sacked. This is the sort of behaviour that gets fans banned from going to grounds, travelling abroad, this is the sort of behaviour that gives British Football such a bad name!!

No not really - they should not be given the opportunity ever again to play football for their team or country ever again. In my eyes it is as simple as that!

I only saw a tiny bit about this on the news this morning, but in my blinkered opinion Lee Boyer is nothing but a thug.

He is always in scraps and fights, and a few years ago he was arrested in connection with a racist attack on a passer by in the street. I think the charges were later dropped.

I personally think someone with such a proven temper (he is always in the news re his temper, although i cant 'prove' anything ... so maybe its the wrong choice of words) shouldnt be earning the thousands he gets. Apparently he was the main culprit in this 'fight' and as such should be fined LOADS and told to do community service ...... about 5000 hours should do it.

What a disgrace this was.........

If they were in "normal employment" they would be facing disicplinary action - in every Company I have worked, it has been a sackable offence to fight in the workplace.......throw the book at them and sack the pair of ignorant arrogant fools!

Couldn't agree more - it's stupid thuggery. I just can't take Premiership football seriously as a sport these days, because it's all about big money. They pay a yob millions and when he blows a fuse they fine him six weeks pay and think that will make him behave himself. It's a joke.

I am disgusted and appalled by what I saw & I personally feel they should both be slung out of the game and not be able to play in this country again. What signals does anything less, send out to young people who look up and idolise these 'football stars'?

But it won't happen, it didn't happen when Cantona threw his kung foo kick at a spectator and it won't happen now. They will get a fine and ban and that will be it and then they will carry on as before as if nothing as happened.

How can we expect the supporters to behave when they are given this sort of example by the players.

Well another galling fact is that Lee Thug Boyer has been fined 'only' 6 weeks wages - wait for it a mere 220K!!!!!!
The other one Dyer, is appealling against his red card - and the pundits are saying that it is likely to be revoked.

Tyne Tees Tv did a text poll of its veiwers and 77% returned votes of sacking the pair of them, 23% did not want them sacked!!

Boyer - has been charged with violent conduct on the pitch by the FA and is likely to be fined more money - but god when he earns 2 mill a year - any fine is going to be water off a ducks back - and he only has a 4 match ban!!!

SACK HIM!!!
