View Full Version : Bored?
claire 05-04-2005, 09:18 AM :bored: I'm so freaking bored this morning... Babies are sleeping, Son's colouring in... house is spick and span, sitting here and I can't find a thread that I haven't rinsed... so I try find another forum but they all suck! I'm going out at twelve but I have an hour to kill...
What should I do? :w00t:
What's good for boredom! Anybody identify?
Ditto Claire - I am awaiting a phone call, I have one small child in the lounge watching a DVD, I have 3 sleeping teenagers in the bedrooms, and Mr F is having a meeting in the kitchen/family room and so I am banned - so I have my bedroom and the hall to muck about in.
I can't hoover cos it will wake the boys [although do I care?] - but mainly cos Mr F is having his meeting. I do not want to sit through Cats and Dogs - it is too cold to go outside at the moment.
I did all the washing and ironing yesterday - the house is a bit of a tip but it is the hols and with 4/5 boys milling about in daylight hours there is just no point in tidying up.
So I am a bit bored too - there a lots of people on the board - but nothing new to reply too!!
claire 05-04-2005, 09:27 AM Thats the problem - no new threads!!
Yay, I have a fellow bored friend! :w00t:
Critique 05-04-2005, 09:56 AM Welcome to my day :( Although I can't honestly say the house is spic and span but I just don't feel in the mood for housework, the sun's shining, hubby's got the day off but informs me he is going out flying his aeroplanes with his buddy. I might just wander into Town (how exciting eh?)
Rothera 05-04-2005, 10:10 AM I'm bored too. Yet again I am sitting in my office all on my own mucking around on the internet. Yes, I should be working, but that would be even more boring.
I have decided to attempt to lift my boredom by joining Survivor Online after lurking as a guest for a while. :)
Me too.http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/sad2.gif
I'm really poorly. Can't do anything. My Mum's voice echoes down the years and tells me to "read a book!" but I can't concentrate for more than a few minutes.
Grump grump grump.
Okay. Idea for bored people (don't know if you've ever done this before on SO... if so, ignore me... every else is... grump grump grump...):
Seven Syllable Storyline We write a novel jointly, each person adding exactly seven syllables. Proper punctuation as required. No-one can go twice in a row. You get the idea.
Waddya fink?
Bella 05-04-2005, 10:15 AM Awwww, Dab! Hope you are feeling better soon! Claire, Flip, I wish you both lived closer, I have a dishwasher to empty, clothes to iron, cupboards to clear out.........bored, I don't have time to be bored!! I really shouldn't be on here but I can't be bothered doing the mundane jobs! :shocking:
claire 05-04-2005, 10:43 AM So glad to see that some people identify with me!! I'm about to go out now... but not before I change a nappy :pooh: yay!
Dab: I'll play that game when I come on again if you start it off... I hope you get better dabby!
Take care all, :bye:

Thanks, friends.
I've started the Seven Syllable Story in the Games forum.
Bonsai 05-04-2005, 12:28 PM I wish i had time to be bored. I think back to the heady days in my last job where i was constantly bored and free to play on here .... and it seems like a distant memory :wink2:
When we were younger my Mum had a standard comment for us if we dared to utter the words "I'm bored".....which was "only boring people get bored" I find myself saying the same thing to Jade and Lewie all the time now
I love having time on my own - I have cleaned the house today, done a couple of loads of washing, played MY CD's - very loud even though Lewie was still languising in his pit  and now that all of my jobs are done I have got "indie 500" on VH2 and I am now catching up with SO before I tackle Mr Q's accounts (again), and then, IF I have some time spare I will curl up on the sofa and read my latest epic :D before starting dinner!
I have cleaned the house today
Hope you have put ALL the cleaning products away in a safe place.......

chucked em all back under the sink in the kitchen - is that safe enough Buzz

Indeed.........just NEVER EVER leave them on your dressing table!!!!!
Indeed.........just NEVER EVER leave them on your dressing table!!!!!
  I remember now!!!!!
Actually, that reminds me of my Nan years ago - polished the dresser with oven cleaner :w00t:
Andrea 05-04-2005, 01:28 PM I've not been bored today.
Attacked another room today, the kids bedroom :w00t:
Taken the Thomas the tank engine bed down from around older sons bed, he was getting to old for it and actually when I took it down it was really dusty between the wood and the bed, so its probably better for his health, him just having an ordinary bed now.
Sorted out all their toys and clothes and now have 3 bin bags full of rubbish
So I'm now on here for a while before going to put the stew in the oven to slow cook.
I'm hating thinking about cleaning out the spare bedroom, cause that has been the dumping ground for all the stuff not wanted in the other rooms :shocking:
Rothera 05-04-2005, 01:32 PM Things at work got a bit exciting for a moment this afternoon when my new computer arrived. But the IT blokes haven't got it working yet so the excitement has worn off somehow. *yawns*
When I was young and said I was bored, my dad always found me some chore to do, so I soon learnt not to say I was bored in front of him.
Today I haven't had chance to be bored as I have been to work and I have had plenty of things to do here, when I can be arsed.

That's a pretty wise thing to teach your kids!

Andrea I am worn out reading what you have done today - I just wish I could build up the motivation to do that to youngests bedroom - it is always an uphill struggle keeping his teeny room tidy.
I can only ever do a really good clear out like you have done when they are at school - and I have yet again had 5 boys here [breakfast lunch and late tea] All Day - I have two left and I am knackered.
