I know that many of you have been keeping up to date with the progress of Mo & Jazz (see my signature). Just wanted to let you know that Jazz took a turn for the worse overnight. His position is extremely precarious, and the outcome very uncertain.

I'm off to the hospital shortly.

Blink - I am so sorry to hear this news.

I haven't been online much generally and so haven't been following progress lately. This is a bit of a blow as the last I read, things were looking positive.

God, it just goes on and on for you all. I really hope that things start to turn for the brighter soon.

There was an update on James condition on Blinks site (http://ellis.dyndns.biz/rob/) yesterday SF.

Blink
10-04-2005, 04:33 PM
Hi folks. Well there's not a lot more to report. I will post an update on my website a bit later on today. We've spent a lot of time with James, nearly lost him Friday; he pulled through yesterday and is continuing to pull through.

He contracted an enterobacter infection (Google it if you like - it's nasty), which resulted in ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome). He's still needing a lot of assistance with his breathing, but he's still alive.

I can't believe how many serious blips that boy has had in 7 months. Please God let it be the last!

And all this happened when he was just about to be transferred back to Chester. Groan. It is so hard having him 30 miles away (and seriously ill). It is also really horrible visiting him, and him being far too ill for a cuddle. :(

Bella
10-04-2005, 04:35 PM
Aww, Blink you are all really going through the mill. He is a wee fighter though, hopefully as you say this will be the last. Take care

Blink, I just cannot imagine what you and Mrs Blink are going through, I really can't. The pair of you must be run ragged in mind and body - the boys are in their own way getting on with it, and with the love and support they are getting from both yourselves, the hospital staff and close family and friends - I am sure that one way or another they will work through things.

James, although unconcious through all of this is in the very best place and Morgan - the wee wriggler seems to be over the latest worst, albeit his feeding is a problem.

This hug I am sending you can give yourselves - it is the nearest to an email hug I can get, you just wrap your arms over one another so left hand is on the right shoulder and vice versa with the other hand and squeeze hard, you so both deserve much much more - and my thoughts, email hugs and prayers are still with you and will remain there for a long long time.

Andrea
11-04-2005, 08:22 PM
Blink, I would also like to send all your family a big e-mail hug just like Flips.
You have been through so much in the last year and still going through it.
My thoughts, prayers and hugs are winging their way to your family right this minute and always.

My thoughts are with you and your family Blink.
I'm a twin myself and me and my brother were very premature and in hospital for months after our births.
Every year on our birthday we hear once again the events of our first year.
Still as fresh in my parents' minds

I hope that in years to come you'll be telling your boys of their amazing fight for life.

Blink, I have read the latest update and my heart is sad, but remaining strong and positive for you all. The outlook is not one that anyone wants to hear, and everyone, absolutely everyone is and will be thinking of you and praying for you all.

Prayers and thoughts are also with the staff caring for James and hope against hope that they, with the help of God and James himself that the treament works.

You know those email hugs?? Well put your face to the screen and I am sending huge hugs and kisses for you all.

I have to pop to Church later to fill in the wedding register for an up and coming wedding - and in the peace and solitude of our Church, I shall speak out loud to God and tell him you need his help just a little more than normal at this time.

Yesterday we had a completely honest conversation with the consultant in charge of intensive care. His view was that he saw every reason to continue with Jazz's treatment, and no reason to talk about switching equipment off as yet. He said that he had seen children sicker than James recover. (After all, with James, it is only his lungs that are failing - all his other major organs are working okay.)

This is horrible suspense to be in though. We are waiting, hoping that something absolutely awful won't happen. (cf Chinese water torture...?) If we emerge from this experience sane, that in itself will be a profound miracle. :bored:
