View Full Version : My Ipod
Hugh Jaas 11-04-2005, 01:22 PM I am getting an Ipod next week, and I have the option of having it engraved. I was thinking of having some lyrics from some of my favourite songs on it.
Engraving is free and can only be done once.
I have listed some of my options, let me know what you think is best and why.
Maybe you have some suggestions of your own, if so I'd be willing to hear them.
They must be 27 characters on first line,
and 27 characters on second line.
Maybe you think getting it engraved is a bad idea.
Maybe I should just have something like my real name in full on it, just in case it get's lost.
What do you think?
I personally think it is a bad idea purely because in a few years time, it might not be your favourite song anymore!

I agree with ILS here, if i was going to get it engraved with anything I would use my name and postcode
Hugh Jaas 11-04-2005, 01:40 PM Ok then, so what about just putting my name on it, it is virtually invisible, and on the back so it wouldn't stand out.
Groucho 11-04-2005, 01:41 PM How about:
Pretentious? Moi?
:ninja:

What about if you wanted to sell it in the future, wouldn't that make it difficult?
Patsy 11-04-2005, 01:45 PM Why not just get it insured?

Doesn't look like any of your choices would fit then?
That aside, the one I like best is engraving is crap don't bother, that would look quite nice engraved on an iPod.

Actually I heard on the radio the other day that iPod's really are junk - they have a shelf life of only 18 months. Designer madness!
Hugh Jaas 11-04-2005, 04:25 PM that's rubbish my mate got one when they first came out which is over 2 years ago, and his still works amazingly well! as good as new.

I got my iPod about 3 weeks ago, I wouldn't have anything engraved on it, great piece of kit BTW!

They are actually quite well known for their unreliability.
Micro-hard drives are relatively new technology in mass production and suffer the teething problems of any new technology.
Apple sub contracts most production to Taiwan and China.
However, if you ever get the chance to invest, grab it with both hands.
These guys are the future!
Sometime soon, well all own several of them!

Cool, I know they do rule! I have several friends with one, and none of them have any complaints, besides it has a warranty!
Which one did you go for? I am going for the 30GB Ipod Photo. It's great, the colour screen rules, and it is 10GB more than the 20GB for only £30 more!
