Prompted by our very own Mr Cockney!

I have never had a shoe obsession. In fact I don't actually own a pair of shoes at all (seriously).

My collection consists of:

2 pairs of sandals (flat) - one pair hurt
1 pair of sandals (dressy)
1 pair of boots (flat)
1 pair of boots (dressy) - hurt and never worn
3 pairs of slippers
2 pairs of trainers (one old and battered, the other for exercising)

And THAT'S IT.

Help, am I weird? Am I denying my femininity?

Help, am I weird?

You really need to ask?

Is data required from blokes? Probably not, but I'm here now so:

2 pairs of lace-up shoes (one black, one brown)
1 pair of trader boots (well-loved and much re-heeled)
1 pair of trainers
1 pair of sandals
1 pair of slippers
1 pair of flip flops

But since I started working from home I pretty much live in slippers in winter and flip flops or bare feet in summer.

Not at all Ceri - I don't have a shoe obsession either!

Look I need to know...how many pairs of shoes does everyone else on here own? And thanks dab - all contributions greatly appreciated! :wink2:

Join the club Ceri - I own trainers, sandals that cut into my feet where the straps go, three pairs of boots, two pairs of trainers, and just one 'proper' pair of shoes. And anything I had with even the smallest heel on it is broken.

I expect Flip will redress the balance :)

I expect Flip will redress the balance :)

Well yes - probably

Do I honestly have to go and count?? Cos I have two huge packing cases still full from my move over 2 1/2 years ago which I haven't even looked at in that time.

But in my wardrobe presently - I would hazard a guess at over 120 pairs. So with the lot in the garage I would guess around 200 pairs.

And in that there is 1 pair of trainers, and 1 pair of aptly named flip flops.

I have a stupid and ludicrous amount of shoes/boots, and funnily enough I only ever wear one pair at a time. Unlike my Ma in Law who, at a recent family gathering wore completely different shoes!! God I love that woman!!

Floopy has at a conserved estimate

50 odd pairs

Not odd pairs, you understand, pairs that match. At some point I might get round to listing them, but I think 50 is about right.

Cockney, you forgot your slippers

1 pair Brown low heeled shoes
1 pair tan low heeled shoes
1 pair black mules

Pair of ballet shoe style summer shoes in blue.

1 brown trainer type shoe. Cr@p for exercising, but look cool with brown combats.

Miscellaneous:

2 pairs of ski boots (one old, one never worn yet)

Mmmm, shoes.

I have lots, but no where near as many as Flip *sighs*

I would guess I have about 30 pairs of footwear, but I'm not sure how many exactly. My colleagues laugh at me because I have five pairs of work shoes that I keep in their boxes in a cupboard next to my desk.

I have recently bought a number of wonderfully silly pairs of shoes including these delightful ones by Irregular Choice:

They are absolutely delicious. I wore them out for the first time with jeans to my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary lunch. I took one of them off to show my nan, and she ended up passing them round the table for all the family to see.

Funnily enough, all my female relatives admired them (although I don't know whether they would choose to wear them themselves), and all my male relatives made comments about how the heels were screwed on. :w00t:

I got them from www.noflysonus.com (http://www.noflysonus.com/search.asp?strManufacturer=Irregular%20Choice). Check them out if you are into mad shoes. :)

Due to my foul family genes I am blessed with watery weak ankles and long boney feet so for safety, comfort and other peoples sensitivities I steer clear of high heels, court shoes etc. I also cant wear anything between my toes, so all flip flops and most sandles are also out..

I get by by doing an Imelda on the boots front - flat, heeled, suede, leather, pointy, square, black, mad colours - anything that covers me plates of meat!!

last count was 20 pairs that I wear regularly, and countless others that I refuse to throw out even though they are ancient / scuffed / uncomfortable / NEVER going to be fashionable again / good grief I must have been drunk when I bought those...............

I almost bought those ones too, but Mr Rothera told me that they were too expensive, and that the charms wouldn't show under my jeans anyway.

I still hanker after them, but I don't think they have them in my size anymore.

OI!!!!! watch it. u's were lucky i am late in spotting this thread and its probably died a death and no one will be interested but here goes. Also i spent ages writing my lovely shoe list and every shoe has a story!!! so please take the time!

currently i have a pump obsession (all bought within the past 6 months or so)!!! and i just recently spotted in vogue there is a shop in london called lucky with metallic coloured pumps of every colour imaginable!!!! i think i would go crazy if i went there, i SO SO SO wish they did mail order!

gold ballet pumps
silver ballet pumps
black with silver sparkle ballet pumps
khaki green with a metallic bronze trim pumps
teal green plimsoll pump things (look like converse under jeans, 2 days old, but only coz i had a skirt on that day and was freezing so had to buy some shoes and tights, excuses!)

trainers

yellow and grey mesh puma mostro
blue and grey mesh puma mostro
black and pink puma mostro (are you sensing i like pumas?)
blue and white puma sprints

flip flops

clear plastic ones
pink ones with a tiny cute ickle heart on the strap
pink thin strapped ones with the straps kinda interlocking
wooden heeled ones with dimante straps
clear wedge heeled ones (no longer worn)

boots

flat plain suede ones
black kinky bondagy ones (they are 5" with a metal heel and lace up bit at the back, hurt like hell so only use them occasionally, i.e. when i need to seduce someone)
black stilettoe heeled ones with a chain hanging from them (they are my usual going out boots)
beige suede flat ones with fur all on the inside (fake) and suede bits that tie all round them (a cross between the ghastly mukluk boots and uggs but WAAAY nicer)

night time shoes

KG metallic pink and black stilletoes. thin straps interlocking (LOVE THEM and i got them a year ago and they still smell new!)
black dimante stilletoes with straps that sorta wrap round my foot
normal black stilletoe sandals
white dimante slingbacks
light pink stilletoes that have a HUGE dimante bit round me ankle
bertie kitten heeled flip flops (remember those bertie bad boys?? almost killed me once)

other category (for those shoes i have but no real category

black t-bar shoes (for presentations and boring stuff, sensible but oh so fashionable)
square toed court shoes with a buckle across the front (more sensible shoes, these were from my school days but still wearable)
flat pointy slingbacks with a butterfly on the front (got them for my first day of full-time work but killed me so much they just look pretty in the box now)
mesh mary-janes (swapped the butterfly slingbacks for these boring but comfortable shoes)

last but not least today i bought some fabbbbbby brown suede with gold trim vintage style court peep toes. £15 from new look!! bargain!!

ok pj u were right my list is a tad long, and to think those are only the shoes i wear, i have plenty more ghastly ones from my school disco days (bubble wedge ones popularised by spice girls for example!!). yet with that many shoes i still dont have ones for every occasion!!!! (by that i mean shoes that go with every outfit and thats why i bought more today!!)

Cat
16-04-2005, 04:18 PM
Kookycat..where do you keep all of these shoes?????

kookycat
16-04-2005, 04:26 PM
you ask a good question!! i keep them all in their shoe boxes stacked up in my room. but the ones i wear most frequently are all over my room, the downstairs shoe cupboard, my bf's house etc. i cant wait for the day i have my own house and i'll get a walk in wardrobe and a polaroid and get pics taken of my shoes so i can stick them on the shoeboxes!! that is the dream.

Heh, just searched for my name to see if anyone had mentioned me while I was gone and this thread came up... and it's terrible...

I have 1 pair of trainers which are (literally) falling to pieces... oops.
1 pair of work shoes.
And 1 pair of comfy shoes that I wear when my trainers are falling to pieces/feet hurt.

I hate buying shoes, or anything to do with shoes.
