View Full Version : Squadies amarillo spoof
Haydon 17-05-2005, 12:16 PM I've just seen the lunch time ITV news and they had a story about how a bunch of squadies in Iraq have created a spoof of 'The Way to Amarillo'.
They have called it The Way to Armadillo and a short clip was shown on the news. It was hilarious. I have managed to track down the site where you can download it from:
http://www.ghost-rider.filmstars.co.uk/
Downside is that I couldn't download it! My connection is too slow.
Critique 17-05-2005, 12:31 PM Awww - it won't open - says Page not Found
Fee For All 17-05-2005, 12:37 PM Took ages but it was worth it!!!
I think I better wait until I get home!
Ceridwen 17-05-2005, 12:39 PM I am too - I don't want to crash the firm's server!!
Critique 17-05-2005, 01:04 PM Oooh I clicked again and it opened and I got it. Took a while to download and even reset in the middle of it but resumed.
Nice one Haydon - lol.
I can't do it either - my pc is too little!
anyway I was half listening to the news and saw bits of it which looked hilarious and quite harmless. But there was some controversy surrounding it - and this is the bit I missed - anyone know??
Haydon 17-05-2005, 02:58 PM I believe the controversy was that they crashed the MOD computer system. They emailed it to a few mates and it has kinda snowballed. It became so popular that it crashed their server. I don't think they have been 'told off' by the higher ranks.
Coastie 17-05-2005, 03:17 PM I shall wait till the early morn!
I don't think they have been 'told off' by the higher ranks.
And I hope they don't!! Just shows what an inventive and amsuing set of soldiers we have - rock on you guys!!!:fireman:
The fireman was just a sort of role model for all men in uniform!!!
Thanks for that Haydon, it was very amusing!!!
Saw this the other day - very funny, even funnier that it crashed the MODs server :)
Ceridwen 17-05-2005, 08:19 PM I have just clicked on the link and got an Error 404 Page Not Available message saying the page has been moved!!!!!!!!
Bella 17-05-2005, 08:23 PM Saw this on the news today, brilliant! It gives a different story than the usual ones about the squaddies. It was pure, dead, brillant! :w00t:
Andrea 17-05-2005, 10:59 PM I have just clicked on the link and got an Error 404 Page Not Available message saying the page has been moved!!!!!!!!
I'm the same Ceri, all I get is an error:sad:
I did see a clip of it on the news, thought it was very funny.
And crashing the MOD server, hehe:laugh:
This is brill - they were on GMTV this morning - and they are just lovely lads. They took 3 days to plan it and an afternoon to film it - and it is every bit as good as the ones that took weeks and cost thousands and thousands.
Tony Christie has already been in touch with them to give them the thumbs up and congratulations - so sweeet.
