Inspired by Bonsai's 27th birthday today, what age was best for you. Mine was 27. I had met my man, but was still pre-kids and all the responsibilities that go with them.
How about you?

View Full Version : What Was Your Favourite Age? Patsy 23-05-2005, 09:40 AM Inspired by Bonsai's 27th birthday today, what age was best for you. Mine was 27. I had met my man, but was still pre-kids and all the responsibilities that go with them. How about you? floopy 23-05-2005, 09:44 AM I liked being 6 the best of all. I had a mauve cake in the shape of a six. I didn't know cakes came in mauve :cool2: . We went to the Lord Mayors show, then I had a party with a "magic man" who also made balloon animals. My whole class came to my party and it was fab. MariaRob 23-05-2005, 09:48 AM I think 28, cos you are still young, nice skin, skinny etc but old enough to know the score/be streetwise etc. Crystal Lights 23-05-2005, 10:40 AM Mine was 22 - last year of college appreaciated it so much as i knew the world of work and responsibility lay very near... had some great nights out with all my friends, went travelling wnet to parties....met some very cool people..bliss... Gelastic 23-05-2005, 10:41 AM Inspired by Floopy - mine was probably six, cos Iwas chosen to be a princess in the local carnival and it seemed like such a big deal. I had a dress, a cloak and best of all a tiara and my picture was in the local paper. My duties consisted of sitting on a float waving at people, which would have been fab, but I was in pain and it turned out I had fratured my collar bone. Also surprisingly fun when I got special treatment in school and lots of sweets :D Becks 23-05-2005, 10:47 AM Either 8 or 18. When I was 8 we moved and I went to a great village school which I really loved. At 18 I was living on an army camp in the middle of germany making a fortune from babysitting and never having to buy a drink in the local pub as i was one of a very small group of young girls that spoke English. Obviously have a thing for 8's so in another two years it should be a good one. Andrea 23-05-2005, 12:10 PM Late 20's I reckon. Single at first, no kids, no ties, great social life with a decent wage coming in. And then met hubby and had a great time with him, bars, clubs time together and two great wages coming in. kookycat 23-05-2005, 12:49 PM 18, first year of uni and the first year my parents let me do everything i wanted. so out drinking every night it was was. some good times were had during that year! think i ****ed most of my student loan and wages that year against the wall. year after that i sobered up and realised how much money id wasted and nothing to show for it. Flip 23-05-2005, 02:10 PM I think late 20's culminating in 27. Just met Mr F, no children, loads of spare cash to party, travel, have fun, fab sexy, brand new, black Golf GTI turbo, great job, dead fit, no wobbly bits, and then at 27 I had my first baby - another great moment. Patsy 23-05-2005, 02:13 PM Obviously have a thing for 8's so in another two years it should be a good one. 48? 58? 80? ils 23-05-2005, 02:24 PM 22 was a good age for me..... Both my father and my husband to be's father had both survived major heart attacks in the 3 months preceeding our wedding, I went to Wembley to Brighton in their one and only FA Cup Final the week before I got married, our wedding was attended by our fathers, we had bought our first house together and although we didn't have two pennies to rub together I was blissfully happy! 25 was good too, as I gave birth to miss ils  Nox 23-05-2005, 03:09 PM Definitely 19. Had left college, had started work and suddenly I was being treated like an adult. Was making lots of new friends nearly all older than me, but they were listening to what I had to say. I was learning about life in the big wide world, was seldom at home and was having a whale of a time. Fee For All 23-05-2005, 03:41 PM 30 for me - old enough to stand my own ground, and young enough not to take up a lot of room while doing so... Critique 23-05-2005, 03:55 PM Definitely 15 and I can distinctly remember thinking "I wish I could stay this age for ever". My father who used to strike fear in our hearts when he came home from work, finally left my mother and I know it sounds awful but my brother and I breathed a sigh of relief and revelled in our new freedom. My mum was always soft with us. I don't even remember if she was upset either  PJ 23-05-2005, 04:02 PM Although Ive thoroughly enjoyed being 21, I have to say that my favourite age was definately 17. Rob 23-05-2005, 06:48 PM I don't really believe in looking back - so my favourite age is always the one I am now!! Funny thing about getting older is that I never seem to feel any older in attitude - pity my body feels it age sometimes though! Cat 23-05-2005, 07:29 PM Like the Robster above, I like the age I am now. I have finally got a purpose and direction in my career, I enjoy my home and minimal social life (which is just how I like it), I don't crave for lots of things I dont' have and am quite content with what I do have. I would prefer the body I had when I was 22 however... Islandman 23-05-2005, 10:40 PM Mine was 22 - last year of college appreaciated it so much as i knew the world of work and responsibility lay very near... had some great nights out with all my friends, went travelling wnet to parties....met some very cool people..bliss... As I am 22 now, graduating from college in a couple weeks, and making the most of it...i must agree that 22 is my favorite age. :drinking: dab 23-05-2005, 11:19 PM This is a good thread, Patsy! Thanks. It's really sent me on a long heart-search. At first I was sure I was going to say 29 or 30 ish, when I was at my peak of strength and fitness, and the job had taken off in a big way, and life was full of excitement and travel and promise... but then I remembered how little time I spent with my family in those days, maybe two months per year at most, and how sad that made us all. So I've decided, like Rob and Cat, that this is the best time for me. Life's never been sweeter than it is right now. So, 48! Marmoset 23-05-2005, 11:30 PM Cool subject. I would say firstly my childhood, it was so carefree and full of love. Say 8, when I started to appreciate it. Then 22, I had baby Al, and the summer was long and hot, I was wildly in lurrrve and dad and I made several horseback escapes to the coast leaing babe in grans arms! I suppose now, its now, I have the freedom to do mostly as I please and appreciate life more than I ever did. M Bonsai 24-05-2005, 11:18 AM I dont know what my favourite age was. It could be 18 .... as thats when i got married and bought my own house. Or maybe it was last year (so 26 :wink2: ) when i moved to my version of paradise in the country, and escaped the rat race. Ceridwen 24-05-2005, 05:10 PM Don't know, might not have had it yet. :wink2: karenh 25-05-2005, 06:39 AM I tend to like a particular age depending on how happy or not I was in that year. This year has been a pretty good year so far, so this could turn out to be my favourite age. I'll come back to you on that. |
