I chose my username as I couldn't think of anything better
When I first came to this site, I had never used a forum before and I really didn't know what to use, so as the site was about 'Survivor' the Reality TV Show and I loved it, I just thought ilovesurvivor!

Bonsai 23-05-2005, 05:24 PM I named myself after my VERY beautiful cat. I only wish i was as slinky, sensual and feminine as she is.
Marmoset 23-05-2005, 06:28 PM Well, I thought a marmoset was a cute fluffy little creature.
Now Ive seen one of the ugly looking buggers I wish I had chosen something else!

mazwad 23-05-2005, 06:32 PM My name is Mary and the wad is the first part of my surname a mate always called me Mazwad so I thought it would be a good name to use.
Unoriginal I know - but I chose my user name because it's my name!!
Gelastic 23-05-2005, 06:34 PM I couldn't think of anything and then I saw the word Gelastic and looked it up and it meant pertaining to laughter, which seemed apt :D

You will always be a large eyed cute fluffy thing to me Marmy, I think I am imagining what you imagined when you named yourself, cos I imagine Marmosets to be exactly how you described them!
Crystal - I had a couple of really pants user names before I fell upon Flip, she was a murder victim in the Rankin novel, The Falls - her full name was Flip Balfour - and if I ever change my name I will become Flip Balfour - such a great name!!
Patsy 23-05-2005, 07:52 PM I chose Patsy because it's playful and feminine and conjours up either Patsy Kensit, beautiful and sexy, or Joanna Lumley, funny and a fashion icon.
No actually, I chose it because it's what I was called as a child and I like it.
Dolores 23-05-2005, 07:56 PM I don't know why i choose Dolores. I like to think she choose me! Actually I think it sounds exotic and ethnic and I like it!
On other forums I have been Caty...but it was gone here so shortened to Cat. Could have lengthened to Catherine but thought that was a bit dull.
:bye:
Patsy 23-05-2005, 08:26 PM Well dull.
Critique 23-05-2005, 08:54 PM One of the MSN Groups I pop into sometimes said they were doing a Critique of other groups - I thought it was an interesting word and it stuck in my mind when I applied to join this group.
Andrea 23-05-2005, 08:59 PM I chose mine being the original person that I am, because its mine name, doh.
Didn't really know what I was doing when I first joined (internet and computer newbie) so when it asked for user name, I put my name down:wallbash:
Mine is my initials - 'fraid it's as boring as that. :bag:
Paul John.
It's all very clever actually :)

It's boring really, short and snappy, and a reference to the night which is mostly when I'm online.

Ceridwen 24-05-2005, 10:06 AM Ceridwen comes from my pagan days and Welsh mythology.
She was a magician, mother of Taliesin, Morfran, and a beautiful daughter.
Morfran (also called Avagddu) was hideously ugly, so she sought to make him wise. Ceridwen had a magical cauldron that could make a potion granting wisdom. The mixture had to be cooked for a year and a day. Morda, a blind man, tended the fire beneath the cauldron, while Gwion, a young boy, stirred the concoction.
The first three drops of liquid from this cauldron gave wisdom; the rest was a fatal poison. Three hot drops spilled onto Gwion's hand as he stirred, burning him. He instinctively put his hand in his mouth, and instantly gained great wisdom and knowledge.
Ceridwen chased Gwion. He turned himself into a rabbit. She became a dog. He became a fish and jumped into a river. She turned into an otter. He turned into a bird; she became a hawk. Finally, he turned into a single grain of corn. She then became a hen and ate him.
When Ceridwen became pregnant, she knew it was Gwion and resolved to kill the child when he was born. However, when he was born, he was so beautiful that she couldn't do it. She threw him in the ocean instead. The child did not die, but swam away and became the legendary bard, Taliesin.
floopy 24-05-2005, 10:12 AM F***ing Loopy, that's me :w00t:
Actually, that's a lie. Floopy is short for floopnoodle.
Floopnoodles are small floppy nuggly kittens, just like what I am. :ninja:
Rothera 24-05-2005, 10:26 AM Rothera is the name of a research base in the Antartic which I had just been reading about before I joined SO.

Patsy 24-05-2005, 06:46 PM Go on Dol, he's young and fit and we can assume/presume handsome, but who cares :D
You assume he is handsome, Noxy. He can only presume to be. Is that any clearer?
Go on Dol, he's young and fit and we can assume/presume handsome, but who cares :D

Coastie 25-05-2005, 07:34 AM Ermmmm I'm not sure why I chose mine.....I think it's because I couldn't have the name I wanted (someone else had nicked it) and so I thought sodit....I'll be Coastie!
kookycat 25-05-2005, 06:30 PM kookycat coz i seen it on some cards and thought it was cool and thought i was a bit of a kook anyway *read weirdo*
I chose Isis because she featured in a book I was reading called Enemy of God by Bernard Cornwell.....
In ENEMY OF GOD, Cornwell brings a dark and gritty element to Arthurian legend that may startle readers unfamiliar with his penchant for historical accuracy and period detail. Cornwell continues to immerse us in the sight, smell, and texture of the Dark Ages. Merging both Celtic myth and burgeoning Christianity, Cornwell captures the essence of Arthurian legend while putting his original spin on the much-beloved lore.
Isis is the feminine archetype for creation - the goddess of fertility and motherhood. She has gone by many names and played many roles in history and mythology - as goddess and female creator.
Oh.....and in the book Guinevere held orgies in the Temple of Isis :naughty:
