Reasons being:

(a) Half of those who say this don't even play the lottery;
(b) You have more chance of being run over and killed than winning the lottery so why not plan your funeral as thoroughly?
(c) If you are a sad, dull individual with a boring life now, you are unlikely to become an interesting person with a rich and fulfilling social life just because you have a bitof dosh stashed in the bank. On the contrary, you will just be a rich, sad, boring and unfulfilled person.

Yes it is too harsh. We are underpopulated here in the uk, especialy when it comes to nice, intelligent, non racist, funny people.

Can I make a suggestion that we keep this thread ongoing but rename it something like "Anything You Want To Get Off Your Chest Thread" I found this quite a good thread to vent your frustration at day to days things that really annoy us, without fear of anyone having a go at you or challenging what you are saying. And if you want to make a debate of it, then you can post in the SO/Debate (or whatever the thread is called, I am having a memory lapse).

If anyone has a better idea of what to call this thread (if we are in agreement for it to stay) then please feel free to say.........and in the theme of the thread no-one, you can suggest without anyone dismissing your idea-name.

I have loved reading this thread and enjoyed using to say what I feel about particular things that may have happened to me on that day and I am sure others judging by their posts have quite enjoyed it too.

I want all who have a juvenile record (male or female...lets face it some of the girls are worse than the guys these days) to have to go and do a minimum of three years National Service the second the turn 16!

This would:

1) Reduce the number of delinquent yobs on the street who can't be bovered to get a job and so sign on til death.
2) Teach the blighters some respect and possibly a trade.
3) Aid the shortage of willing recruits into our armed services.
4) Could lead to some of them changing their lives for the better and and staying on in the services.
5) Could result in the most useless of them being shot on the front line so saving any future costs of imprisonment!

All criminals should be made to do ard labour...they should be forced out in chain gangs to clean streets, wash graffitti off the walls and do all the really skanky, low paid jobs no-one else wants to do...and if they try and run they can be shot!

This would be of benefit because:

1) It would reduce the number of companies who try and cut expences buy employing illegal immigrants and therefore fewer immigrants would bother coming here...

2) It would give us cleaner streets while semi-justifying the stupid costs for keeping soemone locked up year in year out...

3) It would make prison less of the easy life it is and reduce the number who become institutionalised and become repeat offenders because they can't hack it in the outside world...
