View Full Version : The SIMS!
Coastie 30-05-2005, 09:11 PM I am so happy I have a PC at home now as it means I can play the SIMS again....I even have a copy of Sim's Unleashed so I can buy my characters pets and everything....
I am now shamefully addicted once more and know that the sun will rise and fall as I sit and try and keep my SIMS happy and content and working towards the top of their career laders...
Got a little ticked off today though...I was trying to get a household of guys (a real bachelor pad) to get the same job in the military and one of them threw the paper away before two of the four had a chance to look at it... I was most annoyed and stopped him from having any fun for a day!
Andrea 30-05-2005, 10:46 PM This is one game that I've always fancied getting.
I've never bought any games before but I like the sound of this one, but it seems so expensive for a game.
Know anywhere I can get it cheap?

I'm sure you can pick it up 2nd hand on e-bay fairly cheap now Andrea....failing that your local Blockbuster or Games store may have a second hand copy for sale in the racks!
I have The Sims delux edition with the Sims unleashed as the expansion pack.....I now only need the Sims unleashed to play but have promised the delux to my mate who got me hooked in the first place by borrowing her nephews copy of the original Sims.
I will warn you Andrea it is terribly addictive and you will be saying 'soon, soon' instead of goodbye before long! :excl:
Andrea 31-05-2005, 12:17 PM Cheers Coastie, I'm gonna have a mooch around and try and find one.

Aargh that's so frustrating. I have the Sims for PC and for playstation. I like the PC better though cos I know the cheats for heaps of money - although it used to result in me spending hours building the biggest houses I could, and not actually playing, so I had to ban myself
Am now getting an urge to play again!
I had the sims for my PC and it has just literally vanished. I can't find it anywhere. I have the feeling that one of my cousins has stolen it :mad2:
Andrea 31-05-2005, 07:02 PM Have been having a look around and you can get sims unleased fairly cheaply but it doesn't work on 2000.
So I have ordered sims 2 from dvd.co.uk for £17, not to shabby I thought and Mr A. just ordered a load of stuff from his fishing website last night so I thought I should treat myself as well.

Andrea...you don't want to buy Unleashed or any expansion packs until you have - Sims Delux or now Sims 2 hun...they donm't work without the basica game in place first!
Congrats on your purchase - I apologise for the fact you will now have even more reason not to see the light of day..
Peej get onto your cousin and beat them till they give you your game back...or give me the addresses and I will do it for you!
Gelastic - sorry  I have just lent the Delux game to my mate (as I have unleashed I only need that to play now) and she is already spending far more time than is healthy building and boosting her Sim careers! Oh and do you know the code to make the Sims visible when naked in the shower (so you don't get the blurry effect) I know there is one....Oh gosh I sound really pervy now :blush
Cookie - I love the unleashed pack (enjoy the pets n stuff) what's the other good ones to go with Sims delux?

No, I didn't even know there was one you perv :D But I'm going to see if I can find it now :D
Coastie 03-06-2005, 08:45 PM No, I didn't even know there was one you perv :D But I'm going to see if I can find it now :D
 what can I say...I'm so young and innocent yet very inquisitive!
Andrea 03-06-2005, 10:55 PM I was looking on a sims site last night and they said it was very pervy to want to look at them without the blurry bit, and there wasn't anything you could do to watch them.
Oh no, wait a minute, that might have been about when they were getting it on :ninja:
Gelastic 04-06-2005, 08:39 AM Coastie - you seem to be dragging everyone down to a pervy level :D
Anyway I found this, let me know if it works, because obviously I wouldn't dream or trying it :ninja:
Have your sim take a bath then when your sim is in the bathtub go to buy mode and press:
CTRL, Shift and C then type in the box:
Move_objects on
Press enter to confirm this. You can now see your sims naked by having them take a bath then moving it away. This will work with the shower that has the towel over the door, too

Or maybe you can... When the sims are in vibrating in the heart bed pause the game and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift and C, then in the box type move_objects on. Then go to the build menu and click the hand. You can then ytake your Sims out of the bed to see them have sexual intercourse...
(copied from a webiste, and nothing I've tried!)
Cookie 04-06-2005, 08:28 PM I wasnt that impressed with unleashed actually
I think the best expansion packs are probably, Hot Date and Superstar, they add a lot of extra interactions and with superstar you can make your sim all famous and they end up getting nuisance fans that hang around your sims house and take pics of your sim all the time. Also if you're a really famous sim lil tour buses come round and fans visit your house hehe...is kool
Vacation isnt bad, but it does get a lil dull. The good thing about vacation is that you can plant your own vegetables, hehe, but lil animals come to get them  and dig them all up
Coastie 05-06-2005, 07:00 PM You can plant vegetables in Unleashed aswell Cookie! I did it just today..... :smartie:
I'm enjoying the unleashed pack because I wanted one of my families to have a dog called Sid...his training is going really well! :smartie:
Some of the expansion packs around now only work with SIMS2 so I'll not be bothering with them...How do you get the SIMS to shag...is that only an available action incorporated in certain packs? :bored:
I shall be seeing my SIMS nude tommorow...woo woo woo! :angel_not
Gelastic 07-06-2005, 08:13 AM I shall be seeing my SIMS nude tommorow...woo woo woo! :angel_not
Oooh you must let us know if it actually works! :D
I think on the sex thing you need the vibrating bed, or one of the top rated beds to get them to go for it.
Coastie 10-06-2005, 07:19 AM Oooo it works...get the vibrating bed - set it to vibrate...get your 2 SIMs to play in bed then move it on 'em.... :naughty:
Getting extremely ticked off with one pair at the moment...I want him to accept her proposal of marriage and they are 100% on friendship and life chumminess...well no matter how happy and well fed I make them he will not accept...I might just kill him off and create him in another form!!! :wallbash:

Just confirm...if I get any of these expansion packs I will still have my pets? :bored:
Cookie 10-06-2005, 09:49 PM oh maybe the vegetable one is with unleashed then agh havent played the original sims for ages!
Some of the expansion packs around now only work with SIMS2 so I'll not be bothering with them
the only expansion packs for the sims 2 are sims university and sims nightlife (which isnt out yet)...i recommend gettins the sims 2!...basically sims 1 and sims 2 are two seperate things, the original sims packs, hot date, unleashed, vacation etc, wont work with sims 2 and vice versa.
Bck to sims 1; As long as you have unleashed you will have pets :) ...getting expansion packs just adds to the number of objects/interactions your sims have
hehe heres my bf in sims 2 styleee...

Andrea 11-06-2005, 12:14 AM I'm still waiting for dvd.co.uk to get my order in stock:sad:
Coastie 11-06-2005, 07:10 AM He's a handsom chappie isn't he Cooks!
Andrea.... Mind you it may not be a bad thing...this is a very addictive game and judging by the amount of time you spend on this site..like me you have a mildly addictive personality! :w00t:
Cookie 11-06-2005, 02:52 PM He's a handsom chappie isn't he Cooks
hehe yep
Andrea 29-06-2005, 08:30 PM Well it finally arrived in the post today and have waited till this evening to give it a go.
I've been through all the tutorials and it still seems very confusing at the moment.
I've just had a go controlling one guy, got him to get the maid in :w00t: but there seems just so much to do.
I noticed he should have been at work till 6pm, and the current time was 5.30 so why wasn't he there cause I'd only just joined him.
And what is happening to all the other families that you aren't controlling, are they still going about there business without you. If you don't go to certain families do they end up ruffians?
Ooh so many questions.
Don't know if I'm on the computer enough to play this one?
Coastie 29-06-2005, 09:16 PM Andrea...I guess your looking after the pre-programmed SIMs at the mo in their ready made houses.....live life destroy the house and delete all the familes already in the system.....then go into create a family and you can make up your own SIMs and families...build your own homes from scratch and you'll have much more fun!
If you don't play with a SIM for a while they don't go down hill...basically on your next visit to their home you will pick them up in the state you left them!
Depending on what jobs you get your SIMS to do (these can be picked one a day from the paper which gets delivered each day or if you buy a computer you can chose from 3 a day) depends on what hours they work and how much they get paid.
When you start a new family in a new home the kids go to school straight away but the adults get a day off basically to get a job (which you can change at any time if you discover a better job in the paper or on the PC the next day etc).
Depending on which jobs you do will determine what skills you need to get a promotion in that line of work.....
If body: you'll need a weights machine
Charisma: a mirror (or if you can get pets a parrot)
Creativity: gUITAR..PIANO..OR ARTISTS stand (these are good as you can sell the paintings)
Mechanical - bookcase or gnome making bench
Cooking - bookcase
you'll also need to make friends with other SIMs for various promotions up the ranks.....this can lead to kissing, hugging and proposals of marriage or to move in with each other.
Have fun!
Andrea 29-06-2005, 09:22 PM You right Coastie, I have just been in the pre-programmed families. Destroying them sounds so vicious.
I may have a play around with them for a while and then take the leap of getting rid of them.
But thanks Coastie for all that
actually I might make up a SO community and have all the different families based on everyone on here.
Oooh that could be fun :w00t:
Coastie 29-06-2005, 10:21 PM Heaven forbid if you move Patsy, Cat and Buzz in together!
I have a house of four bachelors and they are all in the army.....the girls go round and say hi n well have the occasional kiss and cuddle so maybe you could have a few of the guys from here in a real lads pad and us ladies could pop in for pizza!
Coastie 15-07-2005, 09:16 PM I've discovered a way to get my SIMs walking around the house naked! :w00t:
