The time has come for a thread on Maxwell.

I find this chap very entertaining - his stint in the diary room last night was very exposing. When Sam told him brazenly that she thought he's be good in bed I think he was genuinely quite shocked and has gone off her a bit...what he said was really funny "I'm not going to now, best let her live the dream".

His brash facade is covering quite a sweet young man.

"Deluded young man" is a better way to describe him, or perhaps "pasty pot bellied sullen young man" or "illiterate lazy young man" or .. well I am sure other folks can hit on a few.

He is a disgrace who cannot speak prop'ly :ranting:

Definately the only gay in the village.............

Seriously though, I think he suspects a bit of a p take from her, so his own response was more sarcastic wit than reality. If she was really up for it, he would be like the proverbial ferret........he just doesn't believe her (his own self-esteem, or Sam playing with his ears? Dunno)

I not keen on Maxwell at all. I think he embodies a lot of what is wrong with society today.

He is probably the least intelligent housemate in there, but I do think he has quite a good heart and wants to be liked, but I'm afraid I just can't take to him. I'm sure his mum loves him though!

And I bet when he is out on the pull for a bird with his mates dahn Sarfend he never gets the good looking ones!

Andrea

I actually think Maxwell could go on to win this.

Watching last night I have really gone off the lot of them.
The only one who seems to just be himself in there is the cheeky chappy Maxwell, and I think once the other loud/obnoxious/attention seekers are weeded out over the coming evictions, we are going to see Maxwell till the end.

My first impression of Maxwell was that he was going to be a bit of a wide boy and very unlikeable, but what little bits I have seen of him I have quite liked. He does seem a bit of a lad and to be honest I think he would be the only one, if I was pushed that I would go for a drink with! He didn't speak about Saskia in a rude way and it is obvious that he is keen on her.

I'd go along with the last few comments made.
Maxwel acted so OTT over the video footage.
That was a mild piece of footage compared to the rest of the conversations that go on in that house. They must know that becasue they take part in it!
It was bad luck for Del and Rob that BB decided to single them out for this, I'm sure BB had planned to do this at some point, just as I'm sure they knew that all 12 would be up for nomination last week.
Thye probably have a list of "evils" up their sleeve just waiting for the HM's to break the nominations rule. Let's face it most of them do it without even realising it.

Andrea
15-06-2005, 10:18 PM
I thought it was against the rules to talk about nominations and influencing others voting.
Yet tonight in the diary room, we had Maxwell, Saskia and Anthony all saying how they are picking off people they want to leave?!?!
How can that be:unsure:

Dolores

I can't stand Maxwell again. I was actually warming to him. But now I realise he is a pretentious little knob who seems to define himself by hanging onto a woman, first Sam and now Saskia. He really can't see that Saskia would run a mile from him in real life.

And as for him, her and that toad Anthony sitting on the diary chair tonight. What a trio of ****s!

maxine

PJ
16-06-2005, 09:42 AM
I dislike him now again too. His comments to Derek and Roberto ("I can't wait to see either of you walk aht that f****** door") was uncalled for. Once again, it was purely for saskia's benefit so she would see him as some sort of knight in shining armour.

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I think that Derek and Roberto are being treated a little unfairly. Yes, they broke the rules by talking about nominations but they have been punished. But come on, was what they said really that bad ("she's an assassin")? There have been worse things said about other HMs. This little mutiny by the others (namely maxwell, Saskia and Anthony) is a bit OTT as far as Im concerned.

I agree Maxine. I think he finally sealed it by saying "We need to sort the wheat from the chaff".... obviously regarding himself, Saskia and Anthony as the wheat and most of the rest as the chaff.....

God, please let this Jeff Brazier the 2nd be evicted as soon as possible.

I also could not understand why Saskia, Anthony and Maxwell were allowed to openly discuss nominations in the Diary Room.

I also think BB made a mistake by showing private conversation to the whole house - people will be more guarded as a result and it will make for less interesting viewing.

I think BB are really trying to "big up" the Three Amoebas and I am fed up with it. Maxwell is a thick, jumped up little tosspot whose only contribution to the house is to say "Off the hook!" at every given opportunity. I am GLAD Roberto dumped the cornflakes on his head, and I wish he would now take a poo in Maxwell's bed.

I thank you.

I mentioned about this earlier too, I think they should all be up for eviction.
But I did read on the BB site that apparently Anthony has been saying that he actually thinks that Roberto is a decent bloke.

I have gone off Maxwell big-time! Yes, Derek and Roberto were discussing Saskia, but to be honest I don't think they were particulary nasty and to be perfectly honest they were spot on with what they said!! I don't like it that Saskia and Maxwell think they have the upper hand over Derek & Roberto and going around with smug faces on all the time, I mean it's not as if they don't talk about anyone is it? And I agree, the way Maxwell treated Roberto was childish, immature and darn right rude. I think Roberto is an ok kind of guy, yeah he moans and maybe goes about things the wrong way but he did try to apologise but Maxwell and Saskia are just stubborn and two-faced. And Maxwell has gone from good-for-a -laugh kind of guy to what-an-ar$ehole kind of guy!

Tonight, the editing made Maxwell look like a horny, beer-swilling disgusting letch from the way they showed him trying his hardest to get into Saskia's pants only to be brutally rebuffed (well done Saskia) and then cutting to a shot of him lying there snoring while Saskia looked on in disgust.
However, I imagine the editing was pretty accurate here, for once.

I didn't see tonight's show but I saw some of the live feed last night of Maxwell and Saskia in the loft.

I'm not sure about Saskia not wanting to get off with Maxwell, I just think she is very aware of the camera's and doesn't want it plastered all over the media.
In bits I saw last night, Maxwell was pleading with her and she was having none of it but saying that the camera's were on and there were too many of them.

I wouldn't be surprised that when they get out they do hook up together.

did he just share the beer with Anthony and Saskia? Surely he shouldn't be eating if he spent all that money on beer ... and when they are on such a tight budget. I think they should barbecue Maxwell ... not to eat him just to kill him!!!! mwaaaaah, mwaaaah,

I think that lying/cheating the food budget, drinking on you own etc - is far worse than verbalising a few spiteful words about a housemate.

Maxwell is a "plank" and i am sure everyone watching would form a similar opinion.

Wasnt the comments by the psychiatrist asbout Saskia and Anthony interesting?

I really don't think Saskia likes him. I think he is making her skin crawl.

But........... I think the game she is playing is that pairs have always been popular, such as Jonny and Kate, and I think she is putting up with Maxwell for that factor.

And I am not understanding why everyone fancies Anthony in that house. I don't find him attractive at all.

Sorry - but i still like Maxwell and Saskia. Saskia obviously doesn't like Maxwell as much as he thinks she does - but its all about playing the game.

As for Maxwell - i feel quite sorry for him as he is desperate to get his leg over

Maxwell is the Michelle of BB.
Saskai said she like her men to be MEN. I think Max is too much of a chip munk.
The psychology show yesterday was very interesting, my fav comment was the one about the memes, it made me laugh but I can't remember how the pyschologist worded it now

Saskia's body language made it look like she is repulsed by Maxwell - no difficult to see why.

And I think Anthony is totally gross - he looks likes a Madam Tussaud's waxwork - so why would anyone fancy him?!

Wasn't it just. Saskia is realising that by being with Maxwell is going to damage her big stylee. He started off as a good strong predatory dominant to be with, but as time is going on on he is appearing weaker and weaker...she needs a leader, Placebo Boy is just not full filling this role.

Anthony on the other hand is not this either - he is on the same stratus as Maxwell, Saskia cannot recognise this - she just wants to move away from Maxwell, but she will move to Anthony....then - you may be shocked at this - but her next conquest will be Roberto. She will recognise him as the Alfa Male and move on in...and do you know, I think he will take her for want of nothing better available.

A herd of lions, a pack of wolves......definitions have to be settled before any unity can be formed and maintained.

I loved it tonight as I can't stand Maxwell. I hope they give him a really horrible task tomorrow.

Still dislike Saskia and I am glad Maxwell is starting to creep her out she deserves it. She led him on and is a real PT so she deseves what she gets.

Anthony is just a little twerp.

His brash facade is covering quite a sweet young man.

Just wondered if you still find Mad Max sweet?

Agreed, I can't stand blokes like him, nothing is genuine, nothing is nice

My opinion of Maxwell in week one, in reply to Ceri calling him a tosser.
I haven't changed my mind but I could add a whole lot more adjectives.
I can't understand why the crowd are not booing him tonight. Is it just because they dislike Saskia more?
I hate his arrogance. Everyone in the house thinks that if they are up against Maxwell they are going. Even Maxwell thinks this.
He is so confrontational. He’s the only house mate that looks as if he could punch someone when wound up, all of the others ge wound up and deal with it differently. Derek shouts like he's your Dad, Science strops like a difficult teenager and comes out with some great one liners  Craig cries, Vanessa sulks and cries, Makosi tends to walk away or laugh! Anthony sounds off a bit and swears a lot.
I’ve encountered blokes like Maxwell in real life. He is trouble

You are so right Bob, Maxwell is the only one that really can't control his temper........apart from Saskia that is, but the both of them get downright nasty and ugly when they get wound up or someone says something that doesn't agree with them.

he is with out doubt the most disturbingly aggressive housemate we've ever been unfortunate enough to witness on tv .... someone tell me who was worse please!

he is a horrible horrible young man who must be responsible for quite a few fisticuffs after closing time when the barman stops serving the ale.

He is horrible horrible horrible! I'm so made watching him tonight .

.....and on a personal note .... what a dick head he looks in his shirt and tie!! ... and the horror of it all is that he thinks he looks cool! he's sat around in it like a muppet ... most housemates, especially the blokes wait until the annoucement before getting into their eviction outfit. it looks like his mum chose it for him.

Saskia is getting unfairly boo-ed in my opinion, he is far far worse and deserves locking up for his aggressive behaviour ... I wonder if BB can slap an ASBO on him?!

I cannot take this guy any longer. I was hoping he'd be evicted...he's the weirdest looking guy I've ever seen and he has an unhealthy obsession with his booze...that's all he talks about.

I just saw the episode where he was asked about putting scabs into Science's food and found his total dismissal of BB's questioning of him in the diary room to be completely rude and inappropriate...what a disgusting human being...

Get a life Maxwell, we were booing cause we hated her.

Get a life Maxwell, we were booing cause we hated her. That remark reminded me of Jason in last years BB, who was always finding excuses for the booing and was 100% wrong every time !

Trouble with Maxwell is that he is his and Saskia's biggest fan and is mystified why people wouldnt think that some hard faced tart and someone that says fack and off the hhhhhhoooooooookkkkkkkkk every other word, would possibly be worthy of eviction. So surely (in his mind) there must be a mistake? Yes thats it, a mistake, so therefore they must be booing for another reason.

I hope he gets nominated again next week, up against someone like eugene - who Maxwell with bigheadedly think that he will beat easily. Id love to see his face drop when he gets evicted.

I hope so too, Pandora. I was gutted that Saskia was up against Maxwell because if she up against Vanessa or Science and then got evicted, it would have shown Maxwell that she was disliked and that there was no mistake on the booing. Personally, I would love to see Maxwell up against Science, his arch-rival and then hear Science hoot with laughter as he hears Maxwell's name get called by Davina! Now that would be sweet justice, oh yes!

I have to say that I, too, find his obsession with alcohol rather worrying. Most of his aggressive outbursts stem from when he is denied his cider (which is gut rotting stuff anyway!).

I find Maxwell incredibly arrogant and so quick to take the p!ss out of other people and yet when the tables are turned he doesnt like it. Kemal made the sublimely bitchy comment after being soaked with water by Maxwell, by saying "well at least one of us wet, cos it sure aint Saskia" and Max over-reacted in an incredibly OTT way.

(Incidentally I can get the BB website on my phone, so have been reading whats been going on while in Rhodes).

He appears to be the loveable cheeky chappie and yet there is a nasty streak lying not far beneath the surface.

He sees himself as the "comedian" of the group and whoa betide anyone who tries to be funny. Kemal tried and was slapped down by Maxwell who said, Oi I do the jokes round here....."

I have to say there isnt one BB contestant this year that I actually like and would like to win, but Id love to see Maxwell follow the female Maxwell out of the door, if only to see the light dawning in his eyes on eviction night that we dont think he is as wonderful as he thinks he is.....

Smugwell is really getting on my nerves.
he is taking great joy in winding up Orlaith and Makosi about their pool activities as if he hasn't done anything in that house! When people wound him up about having sex with Saskia he went into a mental rage. At least the trio are fe eling abit guilty about what they did. The way he does it is not in fun but with malice. He is a nasty individual, he always looks as if he is going to hit someone and so dependant on booze. The way he talks in the diary room, it's bull. he is so sure of himself. Spiteful nasty creep

He has actually got a condition that makes his spine curve - I read an article about it somewhere a while ago, it can be quite painfull apparently and he is very embarassed about it.

Not that that should cause you to shed any sympathy...oh no.

But he still makes me laugh....the comment when watching Orlaith when she had contorted her body into the crab position in her yoga routine..."How can your call that relaxing, THIS is relaxing sitting on the sofa 'avin a drink".

He amused me too. I mean, Saskia was called a prostitute and a slag by the girls when she had some hanky panky with Maxwell beneath the covers .... so beneath in fact that noone quite knows if they had sex or not. Dont get me wrong, they shouldnt of done in within the bedroom environment whilst the others were sleeping though.

Whereas Mikosi and Orlaith were very obvious in their slaggyness (ooohhh i made up a word) and did it in full view of the cameras and other housemates. They deserve to be ribbed - i would of too if i had been in the house.

They were dreadful admittedly but I thought Maxwell's constant goading was starting to get a little wearing. Did you see how much more venomous and aggressive he was getting with his "wind ups" because Orlaith, in particular, wasnt rising to the bait?

Maxwell is the first to goad or to rip the p!ss out of some perceived fault in a person (ie, craig having a big head or Orlaith having huge feet), and when the same is done to him, he doesnt find it funny.

Maxwell has an underlying aggression in his personality which is always bubbling under the surface to me, and now Saskia has gone he is spoiling for a fight.....

Sorry, I still dont like him. He is too "Paul Danan" and appears to be playing the professional cockney, a la Darren Day..... In small doses Im sure he is fairly amusing, but after an hour Id want to kill him.
