No...!
You're "too good" to be in the first round...
You can't have both premiership AND be in the first round of the cup...
You should have thought about that before the play-off final and let Preston win!

Can't believe I'm working saturday :'(!!

I reckon Preston SHOULD get a victory... we had Watford first day last year too! I think Brighton will get a result, Derby should be a bit different this year, I think. Norwich will probably thump Coventry, they need to show straight away that they're not to be messed with. And Hull need to establish themselves quickly... I think Hull v QPR could be a good close game, I think these two may push for the play-offs this year.

Oh bad goings there Waylander.

I can't believe the season starts again on Saturday.
Just been reading in the paper all about the transfers Norwich have made.
And we've got our first 3 games at home, because palace's stadium isn't ready yet so they asked if we could play at home for that match.
Of course it must have been a very tough decision, but they had to make it :w00t:

Roll on Saturday, I shall be glued to the..........radio (no more sky sports for us, although they never played much of Norwich anyway)

Rob's team Aberdeen didn't do to well this week losing at home but Waylanders (Celtic) & Fee's (Rangers) both won

Woo hoo!

Only the first game, and exactly the same result as our opening game last season (and again the same team...) but start as you mean to go on!!

We didn't win away until late November last year, so a great start!

Well done for the one pointers, Derby were big last season, lots has changed, so no knows how they're gonna be, so nice one with a point away (we got em next on monday night!)

Hull v QPR probably could have gone either way, I think they'll finish on similar points this season, somewhere near the top.

Norwich, best of the relegated... Deano's gonna cause some trouble this season!

Andrea
06-08-2005, 09:53 PM
Pah, one point, Norwich should have got 3.
They gave it away.
Listening on the radio, Coventry played some good stuff in the second half.
The commentators kept saying that Norwich needed to up their game, ha, they needed to do that from the start, dominate it and force a win and get three points.

All the bookies have Norwich the favourites to go straight back up, I can see them being up there, but more like in the play-offs.

I think there's something about brighton that they'll just refuse to go down.

They will struggle again, realistically, but I think they'll finish more mid-table this time than skin-of-teeth.

Went to see Hull City v Leicester yesterday

Hull played SO well in the first half, should have been about four nil up!

But then, after scoring a goal early in the second half, we were absolutely abysmal, and we were lucky it finished 1-1

Oh well, a draw against Leicester isn't a bad score!

I'm hating David Healy at the moment for what he did to england, and now to brighton. I was so happy when brighton got their third only to see another goal come through at the death! Would have been a fantastic result!

Didn't get to watch preston v brighton :( kinda glad i didn't now. We've not won at home yet this season. In fact we've only scored once! We've got Joke city on sky tonight anyway, we should be able to beat them if we're going for top six!

Preston v Burnley was another goal less draw, our second of the season!! Good atmosphere though. That's our only derby gone now :(.

I don't know how we're where we are in the table (7th) with some of our results, though the difference between winning and losing can be about 10 places at this point of the season.

I am not a huge footie fan and don't really support a particular team but can I just say how delighted I am to say that Hearts are sitting top of the Scottish League with 11 points clear after beating Rangers on Saturday! I have had a bee in my bonnet about Hearts for sometime especially when Gary ...........arrrgh forgotten his name.........was extremely rude to me in a nightclub ( I was the barmaid, he was a customer) and very nice footballer John Robertson put him in his place and apologised. I don't know if I have quite forgiven them for dumping said John Robertson as manager but they are doing very well and I do hope that this time they can win the league and not have a huge number of grown-up Hearts fans sobbing their little hearts out at Tynecastle at the end of the season!

I think you may be correct about that one. It's looking like he's Madrid-bound (lucky ba*tar* - considering his age). What a great opportunity for a 34 year old.

There are some clubs who throw caution to the wind and thrust recently retired players into management roles though i agree that Celtic are a huge club and it might not be in their best interests to do so with Keane at this particular time. That said, there are some really good managers who were thrust straight into management at high profile clubs and they seem to have made a real success of it. Frank Rijkaard (Barcelona), Ronald Koeman (Benfica) Stuart Pearce (Man. City) and then you have those who have gone one step further and gone directly into National Team management - Jurgen Klinsmann (Germany), Marco van Basten (Holland)

Out of all those, i think the one former player you would liken Roy Keane to is Stuart Pearce, who appears to have transformed Man. City into a very difficult side to beat , and they are also playing some pretty attractive football too - which is an added bonus for those paying through their teeth to watch their teams.

Our last 4 games have been away at Southampton, Reading, Plymouth and Brighton... it's a joke... someone give us a break, or a home game.

We need to start winning if we're gonna try for the Premiership... and that's just a case of scoring... we generally keep clean sheets. We must be on 10 0-0 draws this season now... I'd hate to be one of those that went to either Plymouth or Brighton... (although the Brighton game was apparently 'entertaining.'

I'd rather give Brighton a point than most other teams though. I hope you can use it well and hopefully stay up (though that's looking even less likely every week...)

Went back to Hull to see City play Plymouth this week

Possibly the worst first half I have ever ever seen, yet somehow, Peter Taylor turned it around ad we came out storming the second half, and ended up winning 1-0!

I think a couple more wins and we should be safe. Just need to get them!

Yaaaay, we got three points today against Sheffield united (my old team as well!)
Getting up there, but I doubt we will be in the playoffs.
But this is the 4th home win in a row, just need to start winning away really:wallbash:

We won 3-0 - but it was against Livingston - so it doesn't really count!

Going to Hull tomorrow...

So if you read this Mars and fancy going to Hull we could go for a pint or something beforehand... maybe...

Anyway, good luck... neither of us really need points anymore...

And it's all over again :(

Had to be to Leeds as well! Very dirty team!
Entertaining game though, power cut and lots of fights to go along with useless ref/linesmen. And I don't have to go to Wales now, HOORAY!

I must admit I was hoping for Preston to win - as I don't like Leeds - hope Watford stuff them in the final!
