Mmmmm difficult question Dol.

They are a refreshing change from all the 'manufactured' dross that are largely the new bands of today.

They remind me ever so slightly of having a slight B-52 slant...which is a good thing :)

Trouble is, if you are original, most labels won't touch you with a bargepole, because mainstream *dross* sells; 'different' bands are a big risk, luckily tho, sometimes unique talent is spotted and gets a chance.

I think they're abso bleeding mega. I LOVED the B52s, know what you mean Marmy, SS also have a quirky mix of humour, individuality, showmanship and musicianship. And they're fekkin great fun!!

Going to see them here in Dublin with Franz Ferdinand, Maroon 5 and Jem next month. Should be a good night!!

Oh TE, I am very, very jealous - Scissor Sisters and Franz Ferdinand!! I am hoping that the Scissor Sisters will come to Scotland later on in the year. I just love them!

I love the Scissor Sisters too. I bought their CD ages ago now, and i never tire of it. Normally i buy CD's for other artists when a single has been in the charts, and they are normally pants. The only decent song on it is the one thats been released. But SS are different. Every song on the album is fab - and i play it all the time.

I listened to Scissor Sister for the 1st time last year and immediately thought they were great. Funny about the B-52 link, I LOVED, absolutely LOVED this group. Still have a couple of cd's/tapes - maybe they are one of the influencing bands for SS? I am going to have to listen to the B's now?!

There's something with the scissor sisters that gets me, and I can't put my finger on it. I like the album, but I don't think it's "great." Maybe I've just not listened to it enough.

I agree, Dol. I've tried to compare them to someone else, but couldn't. I can see the B52s link, but think SS are much more seriously musical than that. The only comparison I could make was Elton John with "Mary", but that's all.

I suppose every few years someone truly original comes along.

I'm afraid I've just never been able to get into the scissor sisters at all. I saw them live a t in the park last year and yes they were good but everyone was going absolutely crazy (esp when Jake Shears' kilt "accidentally" fell off!) and I just didn't understand why.
I think you either love them or can't be ar$ed with them. And I'm afraid I'm in the latter group.
