DYJHIW - you leave your PJ bottoms behind in the hotel!

The question is who took them off? :w00t:

You have to rip out a 3 year old Clematis (The President, big purple flowers), because a certain little meister has just been caught leaning over the top of the 6ft wall - having used the trelles as a climbing frame - and a crowd had gathered in the road as he chatted away to all.

Never mind..I will re postition the trelless sideways so the neighbouring clematis can climb on board - ruben montana.

This little one is certainly keeping me on my toes..

DYJHIW your youngest loses one school shoe - on the way to school!

Isn't that one of lifes little mysteries....the odd shoe on the path....I mean surely people should notice when they are suddenly walking along with only one shoe on....

Cat, I think your little one and my little one must be related somehow.

DYJHIW your oldest son comes to you in the bedroom in the morning saying "Mummy I think you should come and see this"
Enter into the bathroom and notice the sink with the taps on, the plug in and water flowing all over the bathroom floor and on going downstairs you see it is dripping through to the living room.
And Steven looking very sheepish.
ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH

If there is something to be done, you know that Steven will do it

Glad to say that he wasn't put down, but he is poorly but will probably recover cos he is such a hale and hearty little fella! Sad to say it cost me £13.62 ... I could have TWO new ones for that!

Even worse I've got to take the bloody cat to the vet too - they will be getting a new car and two foreign holidays just out of me at this rate!

O the times I have dropt stuff on my foot

I normally throw or jump up and down on what ever landed on my foot and this helps to relive the pain

I normally have to buy a new whatever after this

that's very young isn't it. Hope he is a strong fella and everything goes well.

My brother's sister in law had a massive heart attack about two months ago. She was only 40, a slim as pencil, as fit as a flea and as healthy as a healthy person who eats all the right things. Luckily she had a smaller heart attack outside the hospital was rushed to hospital and had the massive one in hospital where she received all the correct treatment.

Hope your uncle has a speedy recovery (although these things take time) and that you don't go breathing your beery fumes over him during visiting hours!

your son has a migraine and is being sick everywhere,. he's now asleep in bed. :sleepy:

I hope when he wakes up he feels better. It's horrible to see him suffer at such a young age. He's had them since he was about three. They are less frequent now and we can spot the warning signs (for him it's if he's tired) and he knows how to deal with them quite well, but they still incapacitate him for about four to five hours when he does get them.

Dol I used to suffer terribly with migraine headaches when I was young. Sound similar, I couldn't even see properly, used to get pins and needles everywhere and would also be sick. I stopped getting them when I was about 13 and have only had a handful since then. The doc put me on daily medication amongst other pills I had to take but they helped. I also had to go off dairy products. Hope your son feels better later, I feel so sorry for him and you! It's not nice at all.

Oh don't even go there. Every year we get at least one or two babies that have managed to fly out of the nest but only seem to make it to our garden and then they can't get out because there is a high wall all round

The parent birds squeal and squawk round them trying to encourage them and the poor little things squawk back. I keep watching over them in case of cats but very few of them seem to fly away and it's so sad. I've tried making safe places for them with shoe boxes, put out water etc. but it's heartbreaking watching them trying to fly up to the top of the wall. Our garden is just a concrete courtyard so not much for them to hide in.

What's the best thing to do for them? Anyone know? Hubby says just leave them alone and let nature take it's course.

Andrea
29-04-2005, 04:48 PM
I think your hubby is right, leave them alone.

Both of these chicks were extrememly young, no feathers on them at all.
We also get them every year because they keep nesting in our roof, and lifting the tiles up the little blighters.
Las year we had one that had flown the nest but only made it to our garden. I did the same as you Critique, put out tubs of water all over the garden. I think eventually after much persuasion from his family, he managed to fly.

Hubby is right. If you were to pick them up and get your "human" smell on them, the parent bird will abandon it anyway. Maybe if you wore marigolds it might work? Ive tried this but the birds usually die anyway, from shock or weakness....

Well DYJHIW you thought it was just the accelerator cable and it turns out to be the whole kit and kaboodle and costs £320 to be put right!!!!

Mr. C has just been down that route Andrea. The trouble is his car is old but he keeps having work done on it instead of just dobbing it in. So it's a case of "well if I chuck it in now I've just wasted the £.... I spent on ....." and so far our old car has cost a staggering £1,600 in repairs and it's book value now is about £600! To say nothing of the fact that his insurance company "wrote it off" after a small dent in the door, as being uneconomical repair and he is, at the very moment, down at the Southampton VOSA Centre getting a Vehicle Inspection Certificate so that he can tax it legally.

He must love that car.

Please, please, please just let us change the accelerator cable and nothing else.
In fact our car is getting to that stage of soon enough its going to be cheaper to scrap than do anything else with it.
But actually it hopefully is just the accelerator cable. Hubby did an oil/filter change at the weekend and noticed the cable frayed, it hasn't actually "gone" yet. So thought we better fit a new one as we are travelling all the way down to Devon on Sat.

DYJHIW...... you have to replace stuff. I mean, when you buy something new it's quite exciting but when things wear out and you have to replace them it's just more expense. Just had to order a new washing machine cos mine has done good for about 17 years, having had nearly everything replaced over the years like motor, door seals (lost count) brushes etc.

It's not like it's going to make a big difference to my life really, apart from the fact that I won't take the washing out to find that it's still dripping wet. I bet it doesn't last as long as my old one either. Aaaah they don't make 'em like they used to

Decided to get a new tumble dryer too cos my old one has also done many years of service but it's developed a very annoying high pitched squeal.

Thats what happened to me Floops, and we had to change the move date. We were told by the solicitor not to start packing, just in case of a problem - but we had to. We had too much stuff to leave it till the last minute.

In the end we were told on the Tues that we were moving on the Fri. It was a nightmare.

Good luck - i hope everything works out for you.

Solicitors are pains arent they, i think they like the pressure they put us under :boxing:

I dont think they give a damn, tbh. We mistakenly went with a very large company that only deal with property law. The upshot being they employ admin staff to do the leg work and only get the actual lawyers involved at the last minute.

Had a phone call from one of the lawyers on Weds (the day we thought we woudl be exchanging contracts) to say she had just been given the file and had a few queries. On the feckin day we were due to exchange!!!!

Next time we'll be doing the conveyancing ourselves.

DYJHIW you take your flat screen monitor back to Comet cos it's playing up and they keep it!!! I stupidly thought that as it was still under guarantee they would replace it. They are going to try a repair first :(

I felt bereft - no monitor - what was I to do? There was this big gaping hole on my desk where all my friends used to be

Grandson to the rescue. He went up into the loft and brought hubby's one down for me (he's away for the weekend).

My hero. We do have proper stairs up to our loft but they are steep and narrow so clever g/son managed to sit on his bottom with the big monitor on his lap and shuffle down that way - clever lad. While I was making us a cup of tea he had it all plugged in and working again :wink_kiss

I was just thinking how grown up he was until I looked in his bedroom - lol. Obviously been hunting for his fave pair of jeans (the ones that look shredded) so everything out of the wardrobe strewn across the floor with all the toys and crisp packets. :wallbash: Funny age, 12 isn't it?

DYJHIW ...... after the struggle with said monitor above, the substitute one you are using does exactly the same flipping thing. Obviously not my monitor then, must be the graphics/video card or something in the computer.

My son went round and got it back for me this morning - no point in waiting around for it when it wasn't the monitor. He said he told them it was his fault for telling me to take the monitor back. Hmmmm - I wonder, lol.

Critique
15-05-2005, 12:55 PM
Thanks for the help Ceri but I have already been down that route - lol. Blink said it could be either so I was doing a process of elimination really - if the monitor was OK then it had to be the graphics card or something else in the computer.

I should have just set up this other monitor first really. Oh well, never mind. My son will probably sort it out for me when he gets some free time - he built mine in the first place and will know what needs to be done :)
