Yes...I don't mind them using my radio transmissions n stuff but I hate having the camera thrust in my face and being asked to talk about a particular job I was invovled in...I hate it.....I have no qualms about doing fun stuff on TV but when it comes to talking about serious stuff I want the world to open up and swallow me....

DYJHIW...

you get hit in the face with a frisbee thrown at speed!

laugh! I nearly cried!

I was sitting there at a large works BBQ picnic on Saturday evening minding my own business when suddenly out of nowhere comes this frisbee at about 100mph ... I kid you not!!

Wham! straight into my forehead! I know it must have looked funny, but it f**king well hurt! I was very ungracious to the poor boy who'd thrown it(obviously he was completey innocent of any malice!) and later felt so guilty about not accepting his apology with good grace that I went over and apologised to him!!

...and I've had a head ache ever since ... and it wasnt' the beer (I ony had three!).

I was glad Max's husband wasn't there ... he would have laughed the loudest and demanded a replay for the video so he could send it off to Jeremy Beadle!!!

I love Neutradol, SF. It's the only one I've ever found that actually smells stronger than the offending pong. We started using it when young Master P was a baby and the smell brings back very fond memories. I find it works very well on big boy smells too.

I just found it too overpowering. I have since replaced it with a can of Dettol Neutra-Air - I find that far more pleasing, it has a slightly antiseptic clean fragrance that is just what I was after.

DYJHIW you finally get through to a planning officer at the council, and they say they can't help you, then you proceed to get passed to nearly every department in the building until someone actually knows who you need. And that department isn't actually anything to do with the council:mad2:

Blow it out your ass lady!

I think you should stop taking the pi$$ out of me cos I said people should chill in an earlier post when quite frankly people should have chilled ... but hey ho!

Would I feel violence to some girl who upset my son? No I wouldn't but I would want to support my son in other ways. When you're young you meet people outside of your circle who upset you, that's life, get on with it, learn from it and CHILL!

dab
17-06-2005, 08:17 AM
Hey, Dol, as I started this particular strain and was also involved in the earlier "need to chill" thing, I'd like to respond in the hope that two of my friends don't fall out, here.

That "chill" thing happened when a number of us became uneasy about the identity of a new member. It was only a week or so after someone had been banned for attacking people viciously, and had returned under several different names to continue those attacks. The new member sounded very savvy, and we probed him a bit to see if it was the other guy come back for more. It wasn't. There were no mods onboard at the time, but we sorted it out very quickly after only a handful of posts and a couple of PMs, and found a new friend.

The stuff going on in my family isn't about teenage spats. I'm not going to spell it all out here, but it involves the 25 year old boyfriend of one of my young adult daughters who has spent the last six months or so creating a serious rift within my family - and engineering the exclusion of my 17 year old youngest in particular. It's bloody unpleasant and, yes, I'd like to kick his head in. I won't, of course, because I'm not a caveman, but I found it therapeutic to spout my frustration here last night.

tigger
17-06-2005, 08:26 AM
Oh Dab. Big hugs for you. It's horrible when someone comes in a tries to make a rift in your family. Hang in there, these kind of situations generally do come to an end, as long as there is a lot of love, acceptance and support for all the family members involved. :) (Well I'd like to think it would)

Patsy

I think you should stop taking the pi$$ out of me cos I said people should chill in an earlier post when quite frankly people should have chilled ... but hey ho!

Dol, I explained all that to you in Portsmouth and thought you understood. As for taking the pi$$. I would rather see it as a light-hearted comment, delivered with fondness, as that is how it was meant.

If I was a more forthright person, who regularly took the pi$$ out of people and didn't think about the consequences, I would probably not worry about this.

But, as you say, hey hol!

I'm going on hold with my parents to France and my nephew expressed an interest in coming too but wasn't sure, so I rang up Brittany ferries and asked them if it would be more money to add him than take him off, they said add him. So I wanted to check out with my sis and all the family that the dates we had arranged were good and last weekend we got together and finally decided and got the online quote.
This week's been a busy one and I didn't get around to booking it until this morning. When it came to the quote it's £91 more than the last one. I just phoned Brittany ferries who informed me that the prices went up on Monday.
You'd think that the person I spoke to last weekend would have told me this :ranting: I'm really annoyed. Annoyed with them for not telling me and annoyed with myself for not doing the booking as soon as I got home last Sunday

AWW bob that is awful  no wonder you are angry!

Yes it's poo of the highest order. I've been fuming all day, usually it's good to take your anger out on someone, I did think about blaming my sister for throwing her son into the equation, if she hadn't I wouldn't have dithered so much, but then I can't blame my wonderful sis as it's her house we are staying in and we do get a discount on the ferry anyway becasue she is a club member. The person mostly to blame is myself, becasue I should have made the booking last Sunday, so I've been doing this :wallbash: a lot today.
but still angry, so I'm going to write to Brittany ferries for not making it clear when the prices went up. Even if I don't get a discount (not at all hopeful) I'll feel beter for geeting my fustration down on paper :boxing:

Ouch Maxine

DYJHIW on Saturday i bought a gorgeous skirt - its THE perfect gypsey skirt for summer. So i got it, brought it home and the zip was knackered. Totally gone - you couldnt zip it up or down. I managed to try it on, and it fit perfectly.

So i went back in the shop today - and they have completely sold out - and wont be getting more in.

So i had to make a decision. Get my money back, or get it mended. I opted to get it mended. The shop refunded me £4 which wasnt very much as the repair was £12. Still, at least in a weeks time i get my skirt back and can start wearing it.

Patsy
20-06-2005, 12:04 PM
I know exactly what you mean Bons. It's so disappointing. Why don't you take it further and tell the shop how much the repair cost and pursue the difference. Could be worth a try. You can bet they've still made a profit.

You ask your husband if he would buy you a cheap new mobile with a camera as he has a Link shop near his work.

So i print out a few i like - all around the £100 mark.

And what does he do ??? He goes and buys a £270 phone - and in his text says i can pay him back bit by bit  Im going to be skint forever !!!!

That's just it....I only use my car for work and so don't like having to carry my car keys around unnecessarily hence I keep them seperate....the problem tonight was...

1) Sleep Deprivation.
2) I was going to dump my bag in the car before going to the shops before changing my mind at the last moment forgetting that my keys were in the bag.
3) I am a numpty....and numpties are allowed to have their moments...and this is the first time in 2.5yrs I have locked myself out so that's not a bad record considering my mind has been scrambled the last few days!

Oh god, its me again !!!!

DYJHIW your boss is an ****.

Basically this morning i was sat in the car park at work having a fag when a BT van parked in there. He got out, came over to me and asked if he could park there. I said he couldnt really as we had two more people coming to park, and they would be there any minute. I then recognised him vaguely. He is someone who drinks down the local pub occasionally.

So i said it should be fine for him to park there so long as he didnt block the boss in. Anyway - the other two girls arrived, parked in their spaces and he slid in behind them. He said he would be gone in about 2hrs - so i didnt see the problem. We never get any guests park there, and we were all in for the day and werent moving - PLUS he was leaving in 2 hrs time.

But when i got into the office the boss had a bit of a go at me, telling me i shouldnt of let him park there. I asked what the problem was - as he wasnt causing any hassle for him (he could go in and out at his leisure) and he would be gone before any of us girls needed to move. But the boss kept on about private property and he should of parked in the public car park :bored:

I tell you - the man asked permission, and i said ok. Is it really a big deal to do someone, anyone a favour ? It isnt hurting anyone. Anyway - i now feel like poo.

You would think he would be delighted to have such accomodating staff, adn pat you on the back or soemthing, but Oh no! Grrr.
If he is small minded enough to worry about such trivialities when the world is in a state of chassis!!!!!! then HE is the one with the issues and I would'nt worry about him at all.

DYJHIW your youngest offsprung strode away half an hour ago for a 45 minute walk through the woods to meet a bunch of old schoolfriends, for picnicking and swimming at Plymbridge

(wearing only a mini skirt and strap top over her bikini cos Dad assured her there's no way it'll rain today)...

...and the heavens just opened!

The dog eats the only decent bra you own  I did all my ironing last night and folded up my knickers / bras etc and left them on the kitchen worktop ready to be whizzed upstairs. But i forgot and left them there, and this morning 2 pairs of knickers and my best bra were in ribbons !!

He is not my favourite animal right now :ninja:

DYJHIW you go out on a shopping trip into Norwich and when you get to the long queue for the car park you see the water heater guage is on red and basically overheating.

Manage to get parked, go shopping and call hubby up before I set off back as I realise something is very wrong with the car, needing water or something.

Well put 4 litres of water into car before setting off home and all is well, no over heating on the way back.
Until hubby looks under the bonnet and that something that we need is a new radiator:shocking:
Called round and have ordered one for £90:shocking:
Hubby's going to fix it in and hopefully all will be well.

It really was a case of thinking, is there going to be anything else that can go with the car because if so, is it worth thinking about scrapping it and getting a new one.
We really only need it to last another year until I get my course done, it's been such a good car since we bought it, I am sweet talking to it every spare minute I have got:w00t:

DYJHIW you take the kids up to bed, read them a story, all nice and quiet.
Then they want to see Daddy to say goodnight.
He goes up and the next thing you hear is screaming and laughing from all three of them.
So I shout up, "Hey you lot up there, it's supposed to be quiet time and sleep time"

Hubby then comes down and says the kids are wide awake.

Nooooooooo, wouldn't happen to be anything to do with you winding them up then would it:wallbash:
