You'll know if you have got it out or not, as it will sting like buggery if you blink. Once out your eye will hurt as you have been puggling, but it will be a relief.

Good luck. Sometimes the fragment of lens gets caught in the corner of your eye, or under your eyelid.

I think this is the right place for me to have a rant.


Friday is my day-off.I only plan a bit of paperwork in the morning and the rest of the day(kids go to their father on Friday after school) is my one day when I can do pretty much as I please until 10pm.You get the picture?....never anything too taxing on Fridays.


Up bright and early,showered,make-up on and just a quick tidy up in the kitchen.....a whole twelve hours were to be mine. I thought I'd just prepare my dinner so it was all ready to switch on much later.Quite how I managed it,I'm not sure but a peeled potato managed to fine its way into a gap between the washing machine and the tiled wall.(Rolf Harris moment.....have you guessed what my rant is yet?)


Although I tried really hard with tongs,I couldn't extricate the damn potato so it was decision time.Should I just leave it (along with assorted socks which had catapaulted themselves there during the last ....um....er....years or should I really deal with it? I decided I'd better deal with it. :ranting:


The washing machine had to be hauled out and it wasn't a pretty sight.The tiled wall was also pretty grubby(no it was filthy ) as well as the floor beneath the machine,the tiles behind the cooker(next to the washing machine),the back of the cooker,the storage baskets in the corner.......and on and on for two hours and a half hours.

Today is my day-off.I am now filthy (admittedly I do have a kitchen with all its hidden places reeking of Flash),its 12.45 and I'm going for another shower and will start my day-off again.

Our buyer lost her FOURTH buyer a few weeks ago and things with the estate agent went from bad to worse, so now we've put ours on with a new agent, but of course it's the wrong time of year to be selling. The whole thing is totally draining but I just have to stop thinking about it as it would drive me mad. However I have to say it does have an effect on your life as we just want to get shot of the place - we hate having it there, it's just a bluddy liability and it's costing us a fortune!! :(

However it does have the speed signs up, ah well you live and learn! I will have to be ultra ultra careful as I don't want any more points on my license. And I suppose after 18 years of driving, it had to happen sometime!

I think you may be right....my sister got her first ever points for speeding after 22 years this year...

I wish they would set up speed camera in build-up areas - this is where the majority of people speed. Outside our school it is supposed to be a 20 mile limit, but there are cars go whizzing up the road. And not one camera in sight.........they have got it all wrong.

DYJHIW - You go to all the trouble and expense to get a nice outfit to meet the PM in, having been told that dress uniform will not be required, only to come into work today and find that you will be required to wear dress uniform.....a uniform which you don't like for the following reasons:

1) It makes you look frumpy!
2) It has two big brass buttons on the end of each boob which really stand out!
3) You have to first find your hat and secondly sew the badge on (8yrs and never had to wear the hat....but now)!
4) The hat is really geeky!

DYJHIW - You have to wear dress uniform to the PM's house which now means having to change between that visit from your new outfit which you will wear to the theatre awards anyway and going there.....I was going to wear the same out fit for both events....pants!

DYJHIW - You now have to take: Swim gear, Dress uniform, new outfit, bummy gear for Stranglers gig next weekend on a coach to London! :sad:

Thanks Bonnie - I hope she does too. Apparently she fainted on Saturday and has felt faint ever since. She has now been to the doctors who is not worried just said she had a mild case of the flu (we knew she had a very bad cold but she didn't tell us about the fainting as she didn't want to worry us!)

You sit an exam that is really easy and in mock situations takes you 30min, but because you have 3 hours to do it...you take your time, go over and over the questions and end up doubting yourself and your ability, doubting everyone of your answers as you go back to check it for the 50th time.

DYJHIW - A moron from another station seems to think that because you were on course with him once....4 years ago...he can expect you to be his liaision for fund raising at your station....I never have liked him and I have told him that in order to get any fund raising done at my station he should go through our social commitee as I am not interested in initiating it here...the planktonite has just sent me a large bottle of scotch for a fund raising raffle.....I have given it to a member of the social and welfare committee, sent the wazzock and e-mail saying that if he wants anything to happen he needs to speak with the Social committee as I am not interested!

Now this parcel is 8 foot long (a fishing rod being returned) I walk to the post office with this parcel and they tell me they can't take it, it's too long.
I google all different carriers and they all tell me it's too long.
I then phone the fishing shop, find out which carrier they use and call my local branch................and no-one answers the phone:angry:

Thanks Dolores for that additiion. It wasn't a squish, more of an unexpected slide. And the large cat remains master of the house, all recovered.
