I've only recently been paying attention to members who are online but are not visible except when they contribute to a post. I find this a bit of a paradox. Another thread requests members to reveal their true identities, the site is a community of friends, so why remove yourself from visibility? In the real world, I would think twice or three times before observing others as it is quite intrusive.????????

I can only speak for myself Tonee but the reason I am often 'invisible' is when I am at work, I have IE open behind my work all the time, and even if I only have time to have a quick look at the forum every 15 minutes or so if we are busy, it would show that I am here all the time when really I am not. And when I am at home I tend to leave windows open even when I am not at the pc, so for similar reasons I sometimes to set my status to invisable....

I often then forget/or cant be bothered to change my status when I am actively involved in reading and posting on the forum. It certainly isn't to observe what others are doing.

I didnt know for ages that I was posting in "invisible mode".....in fact, I dont know if I am now or not either, the thing is, I have it set to remember me so I dont have to log in and out all the time, so the settings are whatever they are when I did that, which was ages ago.........

I always posted at work in "invisible mode" same as ILS....not sure why :unsure:

I think what I meant to get across (but did so very badly) was that "Woodstock" is just a nickname - an alter ego through which i can transmit/convey my "true" thoughts and opinions where ordinarily in my life, I cannot do so, due to my distrust of people generally.

Everything (or most of it) that i have said on this forum is based on truth, how i feel, and what I've always wanted to say, but because of my cautiousness, I haven't seen an opportunity to speak out or allow people to see how my mind functions/operates. The forum allows that, yet even here I have noticed how dangerous it is to voice an opinion and speak your mind, because "some" (not most) of the people who share this forum (not own or run it) are the very same people I have come across in my life.

I don't ever recall intentionally setting out to hurt anyone on this forums feelings. Maybe those of you who feel slighted in that way ought to start coming up with the evidence.

I made a genuine effort to say my temporary goodbye, yet even that appears to have been thrown back in my face. I think one or two of you ought to have a really deep look into your own characters before you even begin to judge me.
