The first season has aired over here....I find it to be a quality show....very mysterious and you're always trying to figure out what is going on....it also has a great cast. I'd definitely recommend watching this.

I saw it advertised at the cinema todat.....looks like it's coming to ch4!!! Soon......

Looks similar to that program they showed a while ago when the train crashed in the tunnel and there was some incident that whiped out everyone but those in the tunnel survived...in fact it may have been called 'The Tunnel' - it was British...anone else remember watching it...I didn't it clashed with something else at the time!

OOOOOH!
I watched the first 3 episodes last nite...into the wee small hours.
It was FAB! Really creepy, intelligent, mysterious.....it keeps ya hooked.
I will watch the rest over the weekend...and then join the show in 'real time' as it's shown here every monday evening.I think next week is week nine.
Dishy doctor.....evil maurading beasts.....people with a past.I love the Iraqi guy!
It is so intriquing, it's got everything!

Just been looking on the ABC website about this and it looks a great program.

Also found out E4 will be showing it in August.
Then I presume it will come onto channel 4 at some point.

I saw an add on Ch.4 for 'Lost'.
of a guy and girl dancing on the sand...and some 'wan' in a tattered dress sitting by the wreckage of a plane.
Believe me..that add did not do the series any justice.
It's the most mysterious programme i've ever followed.(never saw alias or 24 or the OC or anything like that.)
Lost is unputdownable..........

Lost (Drama)
Pilot (Part 1 of 2). Series 1, episode 1.
Action-packed US adventure smash hit Lost comes to Channel 4. A man awakes in a jungle, bruised, bloody and lost. He forces himself up and winces in pain, leaning against a tree. Recognition of where he is begins to float across his face. He winces with the pain and begins to run through the trees to a beautiful beach. Jack is one of 48 survivors of a mid-Pacific plane crash. They have landed on an island of harsh terrain, cruel weather and dark secrets, including a frightful creature that stalks the jungle. Strangers all, the survivors' pasts - their ethics, religions, politics and attitudes - threaten to jeopardize the group's ability to endure. But thanks to Jack's calm leadership and quick-thinking, and level-headed Kate, they have a chance of survival and rescue. There's more high-octane adventure after Big Brother.
Starring: Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly
(Subtitles, Audio Described, PG, 5 Star)

22:00
Lost (Drama)
Pilot (Part 2 of 2). Series 1, episode 2.
The discovery of a transceiver among the plane's wreckage raises the castaways' spirits, as they realise that rescue could be imminent. And the island's mysteries continue to baffle with the discovery of handcuffs, a gun and an animal that shouldn't be able to survive in a tropical climate. The first chance to see how the adventure unfurls in the third episode follows on E4, which is available to Freeview viewers.
(Subtitles, Audio Described, PG, 5 Star)

Pretty much sums up Desperate Housewive too but I loved that!!! Shallow, oh but of course! :wink_kiss

There was a big write-up in The Scotsman today and gives you a wee bit about everyone who is in it, and yes they are all beautiful, it even mentions that they manage to retrieve their luggage in order to keep them looking beautiful!

I think Sajit worked out it was fifteen years by doing a ludicriously difficult sum of how many times the message that took 30 seconds to make x the number the bloke was saying the message had been read. ... not bad going especially when there was all that fuss going on .... what on earth was the girl who can understand french so embarrassed about knowing french for?!

I hope I carry on watching it cos there are a lot of loose ends to tie up ... which is obviously how they are hooking us in.

Terrible sterotype cast "hunk" "bint" "fatty" "foreigner" "bad guy who smokes" "black guy" "pregnant woman"

Unbelievable start with everyone hanging around amid the wreckage and unreal little conversations.

No I don't think a commercial airliner would allow you to fly at 8 months, you could privately but would need some sort of dispensation from your doctor - but run of the mill flights - no.

I am a bit like IoW - I was a bit disappointed, although I am going to stick with it, hubby and eldest LOVED it though - so it will become a regular in this house.

Mr F said it had a bit of Langoliers, Flight of the Navigator and Castaway in it - so in theory it should be good.

I baggsy Sajit though - Jack leaves me a bit cold and smoky gun man a bit mean for me.

I can see similarities between Flight of the Phoenix, Castaway, with a bit of "Jurrasic Park" thrown in for good measure.....I havent read anything about it - dont want to spoil the "suspense" and will probably end up watching the scarey bits in the refelction of the fireplace tiles......like I do with horror movies and the gory bits of Nip Tuck  :whistling

We watched all of the first three episodes last night (episode 3 on E4) and we both enjoyed it, even though hubby kept telling them all to get away from the aircraft, the smell of the fumes would be over bearing, and how he would have done this and he would have done that to survive.

Some of it is a bit ludicrous, but I do like the main storylines and am looking forward to seeing how all the characters pan out.

Dol, in our local paper it says that Jorge Garcia (Hurley) was cast after the show's producers spotted his cameo as a drug dealer in Sienfeld-creator Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm". He is a stand-up comedian as well as an accomplished stage actor.

I have to say I wondered why they stayed around the wreckage so long, I wondered how they knew where to find the front part of the plane so quickly, I wondered what EXACTLY they were going to the top of the hill for with so little equipment or thought for what they were going to do when they got there. No not really! It did give away a bit of stuff but nothing that would ruin a bit of escapist viewing...which lets face it dispite all the money, is all Lost really is....the plot is interesting and yet the fear factor they are going for doesn't work on me one bit...I am however enjoying the view and love the fact that they were inspired by Survivor!

I watched 1 and 2 last week, which I taped. I know they put Episode 3 on E4 but I didn't get to see that.

It's just that Minklemar said "looking forward to Episode 4 tonight" but did she mean on E4 not channel 4 .......... does any of that make sense or shall I get me coat? :bag:

BTW I checked the online TV guide and that didn't say what episode is was.

PS - my Freeview box seems to have gone up the creek - can't get a signal on most of the channels. TMOTH has checked leads, cables, plugs, etc. and we just had a new aerial so ..........? :ranting:

The first episode was a double episode..so maybe that might explain.
I'm not sure.
Over here we are up to episode 15 I think..but NEXT weeks episode is a double episode.
(Coz it just got exciting again....woooooooooooooo!)

You are right Crit - Episode 3 on C4 tonight and Episode 4 follows on E4!

Thanks ILS - cleared that up for me

Ah! sorry about that......I saw 3 episodes back to back on (I think) E4 at the weekend, but I'd kind of presumed that the episode on C4 tonight was the 4th one.

So....I need to watch E4 for the 4th episode?

Yes, you do Mink! The channel 4 episode is going to be episode 3!

Ah! Now I know what's going on with the schedules! Thanks ILS :)

I made a bit of a hash of it last night - I decided to record episode 4 on E4.....I don't know why, but I can only record from my freeview box if the TV is swtiched on - if I switch off the TV the recording stops, or doesn't start at all if it's already off. What did I do as I made my jetlagged way up to bed last night? Of course...I swtiched the TV off didn't I?
Never mind......I think that E4 show episode 4 again on Sunday?

They are Mink

Episode 4 is on E4 at 9pm on Sunday and for those that have missed Episode 3 that is repeated on C4 at 6.35pm on Sunday.

Am a bit confused by the whole polar bear thing. They get attacked by a polar bear in episode 2 & kill it, and yet, apart from a brief speculation, noone seems interested in it, or refers to the fact that there are polar bears on the island again. Surely seeing a polar bear on a tropical island, about 10000 miles from its natural habitat is a mjor source of debate??

Gawd..can't remember back that far.But i think they DO talk about that later.
On the scale of things they have only been on the island a few days...even tho' it seems longer.
I think they are just concerned with survival at the moment.
I could be wrong but I think they mention the fact that it gets very cold at night too....(or that could be my imagination.)Maybe that could account for the Polar Bears.
Did they show the Locke episode yet?
I like him......

Last night's episode was a bit poxy really. I hated the bit at the end where the recluse bloke fashioned a dog whistle out of banmboo (or something) and found the labrador - very unlikely I think! Why hasn't the dog been eaten by the Polar Bears?????

And what was the slow-motion reunion with the kid all about?????

Must do better!

E4 showed the 'Locke' episode last night A!

Andrea

And why didn't they take the dead polar bear to the beach and cook it for some good eating?

Episode 4 that they showed on E4 will be on channel 4 next Wednesday.
I didn't watch episode 4 last night, so basically I'm up to date with the shows on Channel 4.
I tell you, all this business of "the next episode on E4 straight after." can get really confusing and I can forget which ones I have watched, and then usually miss some of them.
So I'm going to stick to the Channel 4 schedule.

I did my hoovering! I found that the noise didn't really detract from the programme as the script/plot are pretty irrelevant compared to the pretty actors!

As for that half dead bloke find the energy to attack Kate (who I KNEW was too good looking to be a villian!!) and then being shot by Mr Nasty who aimed at a lung instead of the heart (who'da thought he could miss a shot like that !LOL) and then being smoothered!!! lmao ... talk about things not going you way!!!

I taped it for my son so I will watch the bits I missed then!

It was good escapist tv viewing but not something I'd stay in for.

I felt this was quite pointless too Andrea because apart from the first time when you get to watch 3 episodes (if you really can't wait - lol), you are no better off in that you then have to wait a week for the next new episode like everyone else. If you watch on E4 you are one episode ahead of everyone else :bored:

Unless this series warms up and gets a whole lot better and more exciting then I think I will be giving up. I know everyone says "stick with it" but I can't figure out where it's going. Will plod on with it for a while though - maybe I will get hooked. After all, I stuck with BB and that was absolute :pooh: but shows how you can get involved with things.

I'm just watching the E4 episode now and I am thoroughly enjoying it so far.

It is really nice that miss ils and I have something we can watch together (not for much longer though) as we don't normally like the same type of TV programs.

I think it's great when we as a family can find a TV show or a CD that we all like, it happens so rarely that it's quite special when it does happen.

I started watching this last night and at the begining it says....previously on Lost and then showed you clips, and I was thinking they are showing an awful lot from the previous week, then I realised it was the third episode that I watched on E4 last week!!! DUH! Then I set up the wrong time to tape E4 (4th episode...I think) I am getting really confused now.

Dolores

Cat, there's only been three episodes aired on terrestial tv so far.

Please no-one who's got E4 spoil it for me by saying what happened! ...actually I'm only half joking! I think a lot of it is tripe, but watchable tripe! i just hope every episode doesn't end with the "THING" coming at them through the jungle ... it's getting tedious already! AND how can something that BIG hide so well?!!?!

Perhaps when we post about certain Episodes we could title them, with what episodes they are, so that anyone that is a bit behind doesn't read anything about they haven't watched before.

I am in fact watching the E4 episodes so I have seen Episode 4 but I will refrain from posting about it until everyone has seen it on C4. Unfortunately I know some of what happens in the future due to reading another site that people are not so considerate and seem to revel in spoiling it for others :mad2:

Has the 4th episode been repeating on E4 or is it still to be repeated? There is an episode on tonight at 9pm - Channel 4, I take it this will be a repeat of episode 3 that was previously shown on Thursday last week and on E4 the previous week - am I right or am I just confusing matters? Me - I am completely LOST!!

ils

According to my TV Magazine the episode repeated on C4 today is Episode 3 and the one repeated on E4 is Episode 4.

HTH.

 I'm loving "Lost" so far, having been one of those frustrated at having to wait so long to see it. (Why did Channel 4 keep us waiting so long?)
There is so much to take in, and lots to learn about all the characters, that I will certainly be glued to the box each week!

I just watched the first three episodes back to back and wow!
I think it's brilliant
My brother saw this in new zealand a couple of months ago and didn't rate it, so I wasn't sure I'd like it. but I think he didn't see it from the start and you have to IMO.
I just hope the monsters or whatever they are don't turn out to be too far fetched.
I read a bit in last weeks TV mag and I'm looking foward to hearing more about John Knock's story. I don't want to know any more snippets though from the mags as I did read about Kate being a fugitive but totaly forgot all about it when I came to watch and never would have guessed the hand cuffs belonged to her. Wonder what she did!

Watched episode 4 tonight on channel four so I think I'm not giving anything away here.
But just in case.......ooooooooooooh, what about Locke, no wonder there was that strange camera angle on him at the beginning of the show, flashing back to the first scenes of the crash, with him lying in the sand staring strangely at his feet and shoes.
