View Full Version : Tonights show - 20th November. Cat 20-11-2004, 05:41 PM Got the room ready and warm, buffett in the corner please help yourself. Comments are welcome as from now. Cat 20-11-2004, 06:10 PM Steve on first. Al Green - Lets stay together Wonderfull, he sang a looked fantastic. G4 next, should be interesting ils 20-11-2004, 06:16 PM I enjoyed his performance tonight ! Cassie next :) Cat 20-11-2004, 06:24 PM I thought she was crap.. G4 next ils 20-11-2004, 06:31 PM I liked her but she was not as good this week as she has been before... G4 - I can't stand them - same old same old! Cat 20-11-2004, 06:32 PM Me and Mr Cat looked at each other and just shrugged?? What are they about. Yes they can sing, they appear to be such nice lads. I think they should go tonight Mr Cat is on his high horse...isn't shutting up.... ils 20-11-2004, 06:37 PM I think they should go tonight So do I, without hearing the last 2! Sammy 20-11-2004, 06:39 PM sweet child of mine my favourite song ever! and he did it justice! looked quite sexy too :) Cat 20-11-2004, 06:45 PM Yes he did do it well. But I thought Simons comments were so good. Stamp your mark on a song Tabby. Yes Tabby has no worries tonight. Next Rowetta. Sammy 20-11-2004, 06:52 PM ahh rowetta i dont know about her, she got a very powerful voice but her mouth and personality is very scary!! lol and she wearing a sari type dress? i thought the strippey suit thing would have been better? good performance tho. personally i think she is more of a show singer than a "pop star" hate to put that tag on it but dont know what else to call it, would see her on a cruise ship or on the stage in the west end, not a recording artist Cat 20-11-2004, 06:59 PM BLINKIN EKK you got in there quick Sammy. For the first time I agree with one of Louis's comments. "you are half Shirley Bassey/ Cleo Lane...who's going to buy your records" Excellent point. But Simon did come back with the point that she does have an excellent voice and he is trying to find a medium for it. If I was taken out shopping to spend and 'obscene' amount on me...I'm bloody blowed if I'd come back with a frock like that!!!! ****e! Sammy 20-11-2004, 07:01 PM its because im on the computer and the tv is just next to me, she looked like a christmas tree lol Voice of reason 20-11-2004, 07:04 PM Best tonight were Steve and Tabby. Rowetta was ok, but it's so SO so boring. I was saying 'Cleo Laine' all the way through and Mr V was saying 'Bassey' so for the first time ever we agreed with Louis! She didn't half have a face on her at the end didn't she? Cassie was not good, the low notes were too low and high too high for her, you can't replace a high note with a shout just so that can you make it. I agreed again about the song being too old for her, a 17 year old can't sing the line "When making love was just for fun" and expect to get away with it! Sad really. G4, oh dear, methinks it's time to go boys  Cat 20-11-2004, 07:05 PM Even so, I'm close, only room next door. We should call you speedysammy.com. So my predictions for tonight to go are: Cassie & G4 :ninja: ils 20-11-2004, 07:05 PM Agree the suit looked so much better! Voice of reason 20-11-2004, 07:07 PM If I was taken out shopping to spend and 'obscene' amount on me...I'm bloody blowed if I'd come back with a frock like that!!!! ****e! Humm If I were Rowetta I would have declined and bought my own clothes. I'd even let myself keep them :wink2: Sammy 20-11-2004, 07:07 PM i missed g4 performance but i havent got much of a view on those after seeing them in lakeside the other day so yeh i argee g4 and cassie or g4 and rowetta ils 20-11-2004, 07:11 PM Didn't like Tabby much tonight and I didn't like the video of his son running in the background (yes I know he sung sweet child of mine but we had this video last week too)..... I thought Rowetta was great but I am not sure she will sell records, might make it big in the west end though! Best 2 - Steve & Rowetta Worst 2 - G4 & Cassie Shark_Attacks 20-11-2004, 07:32 PM Best two: Rowetta and Tabby In the middle : G4 (bored me) Worst two: Cassie and Steve Rowetta's face was like thunder when she was hearing the judges comments. I thought she was going to explode. Scarey! At least Louis didn't make an **** of himself tonight. Sharon seemed really defensive, especially towards Simon regarding Cassie and the frock. But she does have a point. Simon is very crafty. Based on performance, Cassie to go. Cat 20-11-2004, 08:26 PM Well..Cassie or Tabby. Cassie has to go now. was quite suprised by this. Cat 20-11-2004, 08:27 PM ooh ooh ooh sharon might have to choose. Nox 20-11-2004, 08:28 PM Steve: Spot on with the song choice and I think he did a great job with it. Cassie: Hated the staged hand movements. Love the song itself, but Simon made a very valid point the song is about an older woman looking back on her life and isn't suitable for a 17 year old. Sharon's argument was completely irrelevant and from liking Sharon initially she's really beginning to get on my wick. Cassie has the z-factor. G4 So why didn't they sing Creep. It might have been interesting. I still think G4 are amazing but I didn't like this. And I'm more convinced than ever that Jonathan has his microphone set louder than anyone else. He has a wonderful crystal clear voice, but it would be nice to hear the others once in a while! I loved their reaction when they realised they were through. Presume it's live because you didn't need to be a lip reader to see what Jonathan screamed lol Tabby - Louis should take a leaf out of Sharon's book and choose songs for G4 that suit their style like Sharon has with Tabby. Tabby is on safe ground as long as he continues to do rock songs. He's got the x-factor but I agree with Simon, I'd like to hearhim try something a little different at least once, to see whether he really has got what it takes or whether he's just another very good copycat. The baby pics in the background like last week's intro video, were corny. Rowetta, I know she's emotional and it's not put on, but I'm really getting fed up with her being on the verge of tears all the time Somewhere is a wonderful song, and it's beauty lies in it's simplicty. So what does Rowetta do with it, she turns it into a overdramatic power ballad. Didn't like it at all. ils 20-11-2004, 08:30 PM Well..Cassie or Tabby. Cassie has to go now. was quite suprised by this.I am very shocked, I thought G4 was definitely going tonight  Nox 20-11-2004, 08:31 PM Sounds like she's not going to choose Cat. What a pointless act because however they do it, it may not go the way she wants. At least if she votes, she'll have the last say. Cat 20-11-2004, 09:03 PM The girl ducked out Again, simon came up smelling trumps. he could have been so bad. :ninja: Taffy 20-11-2004, 09:04 PM I am at work no TV I take it Cassey is out ???? ils 20-11-2004, 09:33 PM She is Taffy... She took it very well, Rowetta was in pieces from the moment she got through! I liked Simon's honesty when he said he should vote Tabby to leave, the act he thought was the biggest competetion to his acts, it's a pity he didn't. I still think Cassie would have gone though as it would have been the act with the least amount of votes that left, as Sharon wouldn't vote. Taffy 20-11-2004, 09:43 PM She is Taffy... Thanks very much Sharon wouldn't vote, that must have been interesting viewing Dolores 20-11-2004, 10:14 PM I liked Simon's honesty when he said he should vote Tabby to leave, the act he thought was the biggest competetion to his acts, I know I'm being very cynical and jaded at the moment about "celebs" but Simon knew that this load of insincere baloney was going to appeal to people and make him appear "honest injun", but I thought it was a pretty low blow. Incidentally I thought her final burst (didn't hear her first time tonight) was the best that Cassie has ever sung - she has way more talent and range than that faux guitar toting quair looking fellah! G4 - someone's 'aving a laff aren't they! Get them back to the wedding and barmizvah circuit! Rowetta - too too much, way ott. Steve - probably the best tonight, but even so he's still lacks the X-factor. cappers 20-11-2004, 10:15 PM well, all i can say is sharron got her just desserts tonight - Tabby is the one trick pony with his rock songs. And did you see G4's shock reactiomn?! Its as if they were ready to go! Next week theyll be gone. Bravo Simon too - very shrewd and honest move... he had the gun to sharons head and then took it away.... Team Cowell to win longshot 20-11-2004, 10:26 PM "Incidentally I thought her final burst (didn't hear her first time tonight) was the best that Cassie has ever sung - she has way more talent and range than that faux guitar toting quair looking fellah!" I agree with both statements Dolores, but Cassie really seems to bum out on the low notes. One word describes Tabby - limp! Rock n roll my ****! Scooby 20-11-2004, 10:58 PM Oh dear. I rather liked Cassie. It appears that Simon Cowell will have to take the crown, because: Peter Brame v2.0 is vastly overrated and has vampire teeth. G4 will get a record contract anyway, and they sing musical arrangements which sound like they've been done by Al-qaeda. Also: Louis Walsh. Rowetta and Steve, however, are bloody ace as spades. cheerio! Bella 20-11-2004, 11:53 PM Why oh why did Kate not mkae Sharon choose between her lot when she gave Louise such a hard time? Who is calling this show that is what I would like know? It's like the winner is already chosen...............it is getting boring now! Bob 21-11-2004, 08:04 AM Incidentally I thought her final burst (didn't hear her first time tonight) was the best that Cassie has ever sung She did a good job second time around really hit that high note, but really the range was too big for her. I would have like to see who was bottom anyway, after they know who's going home. A kind of here's what you would have won moment. :wink2: I see Simon has decided to join in the antics of Sharon and Louis- if you can't beat em- join em. Did I hear right? Louis and Tabby already knew each other before the competition and he told him to aply for X factor  He really wants him to win while just pretending to champion G4, is that why he keeps giving them naff songs. Just let them sing ERASURE Louis! ils 21-11-2004, 08:24 AM I'm wondering if it is fixed! Would they let Louis be out of the competiton at this stage with Sharon & Simon having 2 contestants left each? Maybe I am just being cynical ! It will be interesting to see if either Rowetta or Steve go next week! Kate did say it all changes from next week - I wonder what that means? Dolores 21-11-2004, 11:08 AM Did I hear right? Louis and Tabby already knew each other before the competition and he told him to aply for X factor  He really wants him to win while just pretending to champion G4, is that why he keeps giving them naff songs. Just let them sing ERASURE Louis! I was un-nerved to hear this too Bob! and also the other crass comment Louis made about "I'm Irish, he's Irish - he's got my vote" ... what a kick in the teeth to Cassie, it's like she was on a no hoper from the off with that Irish ******, who's had 27 No. 1s, 28 when the chart is released this week! tosser!! As for G4 - I'm pretty sure I would still find them hysterical singing anything from Erasure. They are surely kept in for entertainment value! Let 'em win I say, they have entertained me SO much over the last few weeks! Oh yeh and they're English and so am I, they've got my vote!!! durrr Voice of reason 21-11-2004, 12:39 PM Yes I was pretty stunned to hear that Louis and Tabby knew each other before the show as well, there's something very dishonest about some of this show, what with that and Simon allowing it to 'appear' as if he had bought clothes for Rowetta :glare: I think that what Louis Walsh proves is that it's possible for someone to have 27 number one's and yet still be a loser. Crystal Lights 21-11-2004, 12:46 PM I know I'm being very cynical and jaded at the moment about "celebs" but Simon knew that this load of insincere baloney was going to appeal to people and make him appear "honest injun", but I thought it was a pretty low blow. Totally agree with yo Dol, I really started to like Simon but he totally wnet down to Louis's level last night with his "I'm such a good guy, look at me GB Public, Tabby is my worst enemy, he can win... but I am such a good and fair guy, I will kepp him in" Purleeeeeeease!! Anyways for once I think the GB public got it totally right. Steve - one of my fave songs and it suited him down to the ground, he did a fab job and he was my fave last night Tabby - Zzzzzzzz, same ol same ol, he deserved to stay ahead of Cassie but was deservedly in the bottom two - he was just boring. That song has been covered so much and has been turned into a it of a kareoke classic, bad choce of song imo/ G4 - Well I really liked them tonight - i thought they deserved not be in the bottom two and I really like them! They are definitely the most genuine of all the people left. Cassie - i think she has a good voice but every week she just bores me, Sharon has given her the worst choice of songs ever, i think she deserved to go as Tabby performed better than her in the final performance Rowetta - I thought she was good last night, i think she has an amzing voice but i think she needs to relaxez vous on the crying etc caus e it hink it will start to p!ss poeple off Cat 21-11-2004, 02:03 PM Oh dear. Rowetta and Steve, however, are bloody ace as spades. cheerio! Peter Brame mark 2 does have a strange mouth dosn't he. Have you noticed he pouts when not talking. Very strange. Dolores 21-11-2004, 02:41 PM  Peter Brame mark 2 does have a strange mouth dosn't he. Have you noticed he pouts when not talking. Very strange.I think he's got some kind of overbite - you know like the Simpsosn! have! I haven't checked yet to see if he's only got three fingers on each hand - maybe he has and that explains why he can only strum one or two notes per song on his guitar! Cat 21-11-2004, 02:49 PM What, do you mean like a 3rd lip or something?? Whatever, he's an odd looking chap isn't he. Flip 21-11-2004, 10:56 PM Well you lot have siad it all really - just varying people have siad bits that I agree with. Tabby - for the first time was not so good - and those piccies behind - mega emotional blackmail!! Not good Mrs O!! I still would climb over my hubby to et him however.:wink2: Cassie - for the first time IMO was superb - I got goosebumps and got close to tears wiht this. Wasnt sorry to see her go however - and bless her she took it supberbly - well done little girl!! Rowetta - has undisputably a stunnign voice - but her emotionality does ny head in now, it has become a trademark and an annoying one at that!! And blimey I thought she was a lot older than 38!!! Steve was sensational - nuff said. And G4 - well I am so sure that they have better songs to sing, I love MY Way [esp Sid Vicious version] - and Nox I do agree about Jonathon - it is like he has an extra louf mike - his voice is just amazing, as are the rest - maybe I am just jealous?? And actually I am not so cynical as you lot about Simon - I think he IS an honest bloke - and I do htink that he knew what he was doing - he would have looked a right callous cad had he gone with Cassie - ie the one one who he admitted was not really in the running. Try and convince me otherwise! Nox 22-11-2004, 12:07 AM Compared to the other judges, I think Simon has shown more integrity, but I'm afraid my first thought when he started spouting on about who he should choose, was exactly the same as Dols. It wasn't necessary to explain his decision unless he was looking to gain support for his 'honesty'. He could have just chosen Cassie because she wasn't as good as Tabby and left it at that. Was Pete Brame the guy in Fame Academy who couldn't sing in tune to save his life? That's who Tabby reminded me of, but to give him credit he can sing loads better than Pete. maxine 22-11-2004, 07:26 AM I thought Tabby's performance was his best so far! I was really surprised he was in the bottom 2. Cassie I thought was OK but she did shout those high notes. G4, no I didn't like their version of My Way and I was amazed they got through. I think Jonathan has an amazing voice though and should get rid of the other 3. Steve was just fab - that song was perfect for him. Rowetta, I've never heard that song before and I found it really boring so I lost interest during her performance. Oh and she looked like a Christmas tree. Thought Sharon was pathetic - her silly voice is really starting to grate. Dolores 22-11-2004, 07:50 AM And actually I am not so cynical as you lot about Simon - I think he IS an honest bloke - and I do htink that he knew what he was doing - he would have looked a right callous cad had he gone with Cassie - ie the one one who he admitted was not really in the running. Try and convince me otherwise! I just think the way he went on and on in an effort to gain popularity (which he already has by the bucket load) and the fact that he mentioned it at all was highly irrirating and unnecessary. I also get annoyed with ALL the judges when they witter on about "I want to win this competition" - well get up and sing then for goodness sake, the winner will be one of the singers not one of the judges. It's all me, me, me with those three! To my mind splitting the three judges up has lessened the tension on this show - although it has heightened the bitching which can be quite entertaining, although it usually borders on boring and predictable! |
