Our weather is getting weirder and weirder...

Wow. What a strange occurence!

My mother in law is a wise old lady .. she was heard to say about 15 years ago 'it is all El Ninio' - now how she came to know this word about 15 years ago I shall never know .. but it is true the weather is becoming more and more bizarre. It is nearly August and I put my heating on today cos I was so cold!!

Kings Heath is a mess and still shut.

It is only five minutes from our house, but we had no damage at all.
Thankfully Mrs secrets went shopping there yesterday.

Britain actually has more tornadoes per square inch of land than America (I think that's the right numbers:unsure: )

It's just that ours aren't as devastating.

But I do find it amazing when you look at aerial shots of where the tornado has been and you can see it's path.
One house could be totally demolished, yet next door is still standing intact, fascinating.

One of the reasons I moved back from the States to England was because of Tornadoes. I hate them, and they are quite common in North Carolina where we lived. Plus in North Carolina, there aren't any basements or storm cellars as the water table is too high, so the only thing you can do there is go to the middle of the house in a closet or in the bathtub covered by a mattress. And of course the tornadoes do a lot more damage there as they are bigger. I hated living like that. I guess I must have brought them with me. :laugh:
