To be honest Taffy I think the fuss she would make just wouldn't be worth it! I can't bear it! She's already showed her "trump" card with the line "I've just had a baby" ... which kinda begs the question, why aren't you at home with it then!!

Wasn't Kerry Mac the same at the begining of the last series?
Hmm we'll see.
They should have made her jump out of the plane and get over IT straight away.

Yes cat it's been a lot better than lastyear so far.

I have to say I've lost my heart to Fran - who I'd never heard of before - he is a dreamboat!

What does he do, I know he's a night club owner, but since when did that make you a celebrity unless you're called Peter Stringybottom? Surely he must have seen the irony of shouting "I'm a Celebrity"!

Oh what a feast ITV served up for us tonight??

No-one has mentioned Paul Burrel's pathetic and useless fall out of an aeroplane??

Yeah OK Nat is quite hopelessly pathetic - but at least she is being honest about it. And as Bob says Kerry [Queen of the Jungle] was exactly the same in the begininng - only not so pathetic as Nat.

I love it, I love it oh and did I mention I love it???

Di dyou notice that he didn't admit that the plane had to go round a squillion times before he managed to be pushed out of it...not jumped...pushed!!!

He is a big fat girlie and must be up for the next trial whatever it is.... really test him. :boxing:

Dolores, you are such a slapper  . Any new fig pops up and there you go.

PS Having said that I have to agree, its the a mix of a tight butt, youth, irish accent and the protectiveness. yum yum.

Slight difference between Kerry and Natalie, Flip. Kerry McFadden was pretendding to be scared and her mask slipped numerous times to reveal she was really as hard as nails. Natalie is obviously a complete **** as well as being the biggest wuss in wussville.

As for Paul Burrell having to be shoehorned out of that plane and screaming like my four year old niece - words failed me!

Looks like Sheila Ferguson beat everyone to the "Im a singer, out for a record contract, so I better sing double quick so people know" scenario lol !!! She has got a good voice though .....

A brilliant first night.... and Cat's cocktails and Coastie's vol-au-vents went down a treat .... :)

When she started singing I thought that is the difference between the contestants vying for the title of X factor and someone who HAS the X factor.

Do you see how I'm mixing my reality shows there ! yeh?! lol! I know you're not supposed to mix your metaphors but I don't think there's a ruling of reality tv shows is there?

My gal shouted "Posssum, possum! any one can see its NOT darren day and he wouldn't put his hand in if it's a snake"!!! I laughed so hard it hurt, she phoned in her answer,...possum and has gone to bed feeling all confident.

Can you tell I enjoyed it?

borneobabe

Got to say I enjoyed the opening episode of this series better than ANY of the others.... absolutely brill. Paul Burrell's face in that plane was worth its weight in gold. Nothing like witnessing genuine terror in someone so smug to make for a good evening's entertainment. They had to practically shove him out the door, and I loved how he pretended it was a piece of cake when he got to the ground. What a slither. Janet is going to provide the fireworks thats for sure... what a cow... but in a positive ratings winner sort of way ! Go to say am liking most of them.. they seem a decent bunch...apart from Natalie... I mean... this is a woman who went hysterical when she touched a tree on her way to camp.. and then disturbed everyone's sleep because of a spider in her bed. What part of this show has she not seen before.... and why in God's name do these people choose to go on it. Antonio Fargus strikes me as being a thoroughly decent fellow, and could well take on the role of peacemaker. What a sport Fran was to last so long with all kinds of horrors nibbling on his pride and joy. He is a great character already and game for a laugh. Roll on tomorrow night, when Natalie has to do her high rise walk.....now that I have to see.

well said borneobabe, I agree with everything you said.

And you also reminded me of one thing (see there is soo much going on, my poor brain can't cope)
I thought I wasn't going to be much impressed with Fran, why on earth is he there, he's not a celebrity, although there is the question that any of them are, but anyway back to Fran, fair do's to him in the BTT, he stuck it out for a fair old while in that pit with that lobster like thing attached to his particulars.
He seems to be a guy who will have a go.

You summed it up well as usual BB.

I don't know why Fran is there either Andrea, but fair dos, he took his medicine well. Isn't he a bodyguard or something or other. The group are already looking to him to be the action man figure, but we'll have to wait to see whether he's got the necessary aptitude to back up his six-pack.

BTW - I'm thankful ITV have made them wear t-shirts with their names on the back because otherwise I wouldn't have known who was who tonight!

Isn't Fran the father of one of the Atomic Kitten's babies?

First Impressions, pretty much the same as everyone else's

Natalie - OMG, if she has just had a baby what on earth is she doing in the jungle, her hormones will be all over the place - silly mare!!

Sophie - I reckon she is going to be the Nell McAndrew this time round, pretty girl but she will probably keep in the background

Fran - Impressed with his bushtucker trial and he is pretty fit!!

Brian - reckon he will throw a few sparks and don't think he is going to get on with Janet. That should be fun!

Nancy - think I am going to like her, she seems fun

Sheila - yeah, no problems with her at the moment, and she can sing!

Janet - oh, she is really going to tell peeps what's what, she certainly won't mince her words

Huggy - oh dear, a bit of the alpha male creeping through, don't reckon he will win. we can't have an American winning our show can we?

Paul - like ILS, didn't like him before he went in and I doubt he will do anything to change my mind.

Joe - oh, I thought I would hate him, but he is a adorable, I am going to like him!

My first impressions

Natalie - pretty much what I thought of Kerry last year at this stage - a wimp - but at least Kerry was a wimp with humour and won through in the end.

Joe - he seemed like a nice down to earth guy, not trying to be funny, funny, funny, which would irritate me just a bit of gentle humour.

Sheila - bit loud but seemed a nice person until she started singing.

Huggy - a bit like having your embarrassing dad in the jungle.

Sophie - just didn't like the look of her - she looks haughty.

Janet - awful, awful, too opinionated, too loud, too bossy and too moany, but should wind a few of them up.

Brian - didn't see too much of him but he seems OK so far.

Nancy - yep, liked her, she seemed very down to earth and easy going.

Paul - trying very hard to be liked.

Fran - Did well in the BTT but haven't decided whether I like him or not yet.

Aah! A whole new bunch of junglies to make friends with. :)

Not sure about Huggy yet. Think he's trying a bit too hard. Probably feeling insecure - he's never seen it before.

Natalie was interviewed on Good Morning last week. She said she's got loads of phobias and complulsive behaviour issues that she wants to work through, and she reckons this'll do it. Well... maybe I can't understand exactly what she's going through, and I'm not sure about the wisdom of her decision, but I can't knock her bravery.

Oh yes, and I see the producers are giving Mike Reid the same amount of coverage as last year.

My first impressions:

Huggy - I didn't like his remark about wanting to be leader, seems a bit too old fashioned in his thinking and 'macho' for my liking.

Joe - I thought I'd hate him and instead found him adorable. A lovely bloke who I warmed to immdeiately. Also understated and funny.

Janet - Had to laugh, she's stroppy and unsympathetic and will be good entertainment, but she irritated me with her protests about horse riding.

Brian - Nothing much to say so far except that he and Fran could be twins!

Fran - Good sport in the BTT, so far I like him.

Sophie - I laughed at the interview when she said she'd be avoiding Paul Burrell, and then immediately told him how pleased she was to meet him at the hotel! Also liked the bit when she said she thought most people would think "Oh Sophie is just a clothes horse" whereas my first thought was "Who?." Seems ok, but dull

Nancy - Made no impact on me either way last night.

Paul - Slimy creep. Laughed when he said he didn't like big snakes - oh the irony :wink2:

Natalie - Oh sweet Lord, if she was any wetter they'd have to fit her with guttering, has she not seen this show? :glare: Everything about her irritated, including her voice. She'll be a nightmare doing the BTT.

Sheilia - What an 80's frock-horror nightmare she was wearing at the hotel! Time warp princess, can sing and wasted no time in doing so...career revival anyone?
