View Full Version : Michael Owen: Would you touch him?
karenh 04-08-2005, 09:20 PM I have been keen to start another poll tonight, but being somewhat lacking in imagination, I needed to draw on the reserves of a 3rd party.
Therefore, this is a Mr H (otherwise known as Merlot) poll.
Merlots contributon starts here:
What is the matter with the poor little scouser? Only a few years ago he could do no wrong. Now, at aged 25 and still the England No.1 he doesn't seem to be wanted by Real Madrid and none of the premiership giants are interested either.
Has he got a nasty contagious disease?
I would more than touch him, I would give him one :naughty: :w00t:
Actually I am at a lost to know why he is so unwanted. I think he is a good little player and would be an asset to most of the Premiership teams.
karenh 04-08-2005, 09:29 PM Well vote then!!!!
Oooh - sorry. Just realised that you did!
Groucho 04-08-2005, 09:32 PM Karen, you've missed the 6th option:
* Would you have put this poll in the sports section?
:wink2:
karenh 04-08-2005, 09:39 PM Well, probably most people would have. Only, I don't ever go there and I wanted to see what the results were.
Contraversial, I know.....
Ahyway - you gonna vote or what?????
Groucho 04-08-2005, 09:49 PM Ahyway - you gonna vote or what?????
There's no option for my demographic! :ninja:
Dolores 04-08-2005, 09:51 PM he's adorable! but not in a sexy way, just in an adorable way!
he will never ever replace Mr Lineker in my affections as a truly marvellous human being, but he is pretty close.
as for his footballing skills ... don't ask me, I'm a girl, I don't do football!
Fee For All 04-08-2005, 09:56 PM Could this have anything to do with it?
Michael is lauded by his fans as a representation of all that is good and right about the sport. As the European game becomes more and more consumed with money and talk of breakaway leagues and player restrictions, Michael has quietly gotten the job done with dignity and honor. In other words, the headlines he makes are the right kind of headlines.
karenh 04-08-2005, 10:03 PM Could this have anything to do with it?
And your vote is.....

So why did he move to Real Madrid then?
And your vote is.....
What have I done??? :ninja:
ils wants to apologise to everyone for telling karenh how to post a poll, I didn't realise it would release a demon

Oooh - Ils sorry.
I know you voted. Merlot knows you voted. I was asking the question to Fee.

I know you was :w00t:
It was just my poor attempt at humour :bag:
secrets 04-08-2005, 10:20 PM He has always been too short for a forward - you only ever got half a player.
Fee For All 04-08-2005, 10:52 PM I voted 'Other' :ninja:
Groucho - I , haven't a clue, but not knowing shouldn't interfere with a discussion
karenh 05-08-2005, 07:45 AM Oh dear, this is a rubbish poll isn't it? Mr H will be disappointed. I did warn him no-one would be interested in a sports poll.
Groucho - sorry that there wasn't an option for your demographic. By their very nature, polls have to be fairly general, so I guess that Merlot decided not to make options for weird minorities
Fee - I did want him to put in a "Couldn't care less" option, but he refused. I think he secretly knew that everyone would go for that choice if it was there.....
Patsy 05-08-2005, 11:38 AM So why did he move to Real Madrid then?
For the money, obviously. Simple. Ethics can kind of go out the window when someone's throwing money at you. I voted for the "Judas" option, although of course that would make virtually every player a judas who leaves their club. Who wouldn't leave for the money? Grass isn't always greener, though, is it?
A player can be a superstar with one team and, if they manage to get a game, play like a donkey with another.
Strange shaped head, though, don't you think?

I wasn't sure what he looked like, so I googled him to check out the head. I saw one picture where his head looked the same shape as Frankensteins monster, but I reckon it was a bad shot because then I found this:
Micheal looking Yummy (http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fuk.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearc h%3Fp%3D%2522Michael%2BOwen%2522%252B%2522Picture% 2522%26btn%3DSearch%26ei%3DUTF-8&h=340&w=707&imgcurl=www.lads.ndo.co.uk%2Fowen72.jpg&imgurl=www.lads.ndo.co.uk%2Fowen72.jpg&size=98.5kB&name=owen72.jpg&rcurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freewebs.com%2Fowenfanforum %2Fmichaeltopless.htm&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freewebs.com%2Fowenfanforum% 2Fmichaeltopless.htm&p=michael+owen&type=jpeg&no=2&tt=11%2C553&fr=btfp-web)
I would have voted "too pretty for premiership", but Mr H has already voted "too sh!t" using my username.
Mr H will be disappointed. I did warn him no-one would be interested in a sports poll.
Ahem .....
karenh 05-08-2005, 12:01 PM Ahem .....
Well, I meant "no-one" is a general way. I knew you would be interested ILS - especially in a football thread, but there is no point in creating a poll with serveral options if only 1 person is gonna vote on it!!!

LMAO you should get him to register himself if he wants to vote in the polls. And then he can join in the footie thread in the sports section, because for a bloke he knows quite a bit about footie!!! :w00t:
Real Madrid
Why a real Madrid is there a false one??
Patsy 05-08-2005, 03:02 PM It means royal, Flipster. Or were you joking? I took it that you weren't, coz you didn't put a :bag: or something afterwards.
Annyhoo. It means royal.
Here endeth the lesson.
Thank you.

No I wasn't joking Pats - although now you say it as Royal Madrid - I now know what you mean!! Thanketh from the bottom of my boot-th for the lethon!:wink2:
Patsy 05-08-2005, 03:32 PM Fink nuffink of ith.
Coastie 05-08-2005, 03:36 PM He's fab...he is a quality player with a good attitude..his trip to Real will only be of benefit as he has had to play his socks off to even get in the first team (they have some of the greatest players in the world) and so he will come back a better player..the Premiership are mad not to want him although their is a concern over his fitness (history of hamstring injury)!
Elephant boy Rooney should be thrown in a big hole in the ground however and wee'd on from a great height as he is a cockey little git! :pooh:
Patsy 05-08-2005, 03:56 PM I wouldn't touch him with Coastie's.
Coastie 05-08-2005, 03:59 PM I wouldn't touch him with Coastie's.
With Coasties what? :glare: Come on ya old sea trout.....

I don't want to encourage him really. We only have one PC and I wouldn't want to have to fight him for it...... :ninja:
Besides, I'm not really sure I'd want him to see everything I write on here. I suspect that I'm sometimes more "open" than he realises. 'Specially when I've had one or two vino's....
I don't want to encourage him really
Well after finding out he supports Man Utd, I'm glad to hear that
