Not sure where to put this. Not in the BB thread cos it's not about Big Brother and not in the tv thread cos the 'next' show hasn't started yet....

so, what's next on the reality tv agenda? is it pop idol/stars/goes the weasel or is it IAC?

I need dates, times and channel listings please!

If you don't know, then what would you like it to be?

For me I'd like another pop idol type programme and I'd like to save IAC for later on in the reality tv season (maybe for those cold November nights!).

And are there any little gems popping up for a four week period (ie. Escape to the Legion)?

I saw a snippet on ITV last week that there is going to be a new X-Factor. I got a glimpse of Sharon Osbourne but not sure if Simon & Louis were going to be in this one or not.

X factor 2 starts this month. I think it might be the 20th.

Same judges, but different groups apparently - and some twists. Steve Brookstein is supposed to be making some appearances (that'll be encouraging for the contestants then.........)

I also read that someone called Michelle from Big Brother is in the running.

(Incidentally, Michelle McManus from Pop idol has been dropp..sorry, left 19 management and I think BMG by mutual consent.) Statement says they have 'been happy to showcase her talent.'

Mr Brookstein has also been quoted as saying he is unhappy with not being allowed to include his own material on his 'next'album.

Oh goody - but I was hoping for a period of time without reality tv - just so I can catch up on my sleep! I am now extremely tired and grouchy through lack of sleep with BB!

I'm really looking forward to the next series of X Factor, as I love all the sing, dancing reality shows. Thanks for the info Fee, I didn't realise it was so soon

And I think I read somewhere that IAC is set for the autumn (not sure where I read it though!)

Doubtless she won't be performing "Pie Jesu" :w00t: . I don't think she should be allowed to enter, because too many people (except Fee) know her.

IAC is coming back to the screens, I read it in the papers doing a report about the Autumn schedule for ITV.
I e-mailed ITV asking them when it would be starting but all they said was to keep looking on the website
I would imagine it to be on about the same time as last year.

I'm sure I read that pop idol was coming back on as well.
But now is pop idol ITV, and what about X-factor, isn't that ITV as well?
Ooh I'm not sure about those.

I thought that they were both ITV too Andrea, but as the memory is not as good as it was (old age setting in) I am not 100% sure!

Im really not into the X-factor, so that fills me with dread. I only tend to watch it when its down to the last 5 people or so.

The only reality shows i like are BB (celeb and ordinary) and IAC.

Yes...the one who did a runner and got caught as he was about to call a taxi is from Rowner.....he must be a few sandwiches short of a picnic as if he had turned left out the gates he would have been home in 5mins! :glare:

I used to say that I only really liked the preliminary elimination stages, because some of those people are so shocking. Truth is, I enjoy the whole process.

My name is Patsy and I am a "find a new pop star type programme" aholic.

I was tempted to apply for the latest series of X-factor but then I woke up!

Thought about setting a couple of my mates up though...one is very, very good...but being unable to organise a PU in a brewery at times I didn't get my bum in gear quickly enough...doh!

Pats...I to am an addict....sing with me.....

We are now into the 5th week of NZ idol (which is exactly the same as 'pop idol' but with kiwis!) The final 12 have been chosen and there's a wild card round.....but I have to say that my enthusiasm for the whole thing has waned so much that I couldn't be bothered to watch the thing this week. The problem isn't so much the format, or even the concept, but the bloody songs these kids keep singing, I swear to God that if I have to listen to one more Whitney Huston number or one more rendition of "I believe I can fly" then I might just die of boredom :glare: It's just so mind numbingly tedious....choose something different for God's sake!

On the other hand, I am totally loving Survivor Palau which is on again tonight, now that is a brilliant reality programme  We don't get Big Brother here, although NZ tv do screen the Australian version (it's on at lunchtime I think) I've never seen it.

I was telling Coastie about a new show though that started last night, called 'The Ultimate Challenge' in which a 12 individuals are taken on board an ocean going yacht which they have to assist crew on a round New Zealand trip. The first 12 boarded last night and they have to prove themselves within the two days it takes to get to the next port, at which point some will be thrown off and 6 more taken on board to crew the next leg. I mainly started watching because one of the docking points is Gisborne, but it was very interesting so I'll be watching again.

Glad you are enjoying Survivor Palau...and that ultimate challenge looks quite neat. It seems lilke it would be a fun show to participate in.
