Andrea 21-08-2005, 11:39 AM did you hear Simon say about one of the boy bands that auditioned last night.
"Louis would have them in blazers in no time"

Fee For All 21-08-2005, 12:50 PM I'm so glad you posted that Andrea - I've been trying to remember what it was that Simon said - and that was it
Coastie 21-08-2005, 01:05 PM I cracked up at that comment but noticed that Louis was thrown a bit ten left by it...te-he! The Brothers were good though weren't they!
I actually am warming to Louis. You know why?? Cos he is pretty astute but in a sort of very stupid and gormless way.
He isn't up his own shirt, and he doesn't profess to be anything other than what he is - a music producer [who despite our likes and dislikes of his particular type of music] who has been incredibly successful.
He doesn't blow his own trumpet, he is just quietly confident and a bit gormless with a smattering of Irish charm thrown in. I love him.

kittycat 30-12-2005, 03:47 PM I love Louis too, there is something strangely charming about him. And to tell u the truth Id like to see him in drag, I bet its cute:w00t:
Coastie 30-12-2005, 07:21 PM Well I have to say..since he went off and threw his teddies about and then came back he has been much more likeable....I feel like he started to show more of the real Louis towards the end instead of trying to big this meanie he so obviously isn't really!

he is in one of the most cut throat business in the business that is called Show ... of course he is a ruthless meanie behind that simpering "love me love me" act! ditto Shazza!

Dolores,
You are a good judge of character.
Louis may well look cute, he may well look great in drag. But one thing is sure he is a successful business man and sadly in the music business this means being ruthless, sometimes entirely heartless and most definitely inconsiderate of anyone else's attempts at progress other than his own.
When speaking here, I am thinking of his reaction to Michelle McManus who has made strident efforts to lose weight since she won pop idol. Simon Cowell comments on how great she looks and the achievement of losing so much. Louis's comment is an insult 'How can anyone lose that much weight and still manage to look fat'.
Louis is not the quiet timid kind as we have all witnessed, much to our dismay on the X factor programme, and is the most prolific self confessed selector of talent and the attainer manager of several successful artists. Most of whom move on after a few years unable to tolerate his spoilt schoolboy act.
Oddly enough the only genuine person on the X factor panel is Simon Cowell, Sharon and Louis both have a front to display, one cute the other an apparent softy. You have to see it as a cosmetic front.

floopy 02-01-2006, 10:22 PM Same as with any line of work though Mo, no-one gets to the top by being a charity case. Why should Louis Walsh do wannabes any favours? They need him, not the other way round.

Hi floopy,
Very true. I agree he doesn't need to do the wanabes any favours, but you know some wanabes in the past have still gone on to do well. The Beetles are probably the finest example of a band turned down by one management firm and accepted by another. They've done so well making millions and in entering the guiness book of records more than once. They are an essential part of pop music history, irregardless of whether we like them or not.

floopy 04-01-2006, 08:43 PM Derek Rowe of Decca has gone down in history as the man who turned down The Beatles, but he certainly wasn't the only one to reject Brian Epstein's overtures. In fact, it was hit or miss as to whether EMI/Parlophone would sign them, but it seems that producer George Martin liked their sense of humour as much as their music
Doesn't seem to have done Decca or EMI too much harm though does it?
Agreed, the Beatles made it regardless, but the point is that the record companies are the ones with the real power. The best artist in the world is only as strong as their management company.
Fee For All 04-01-2006, 09:29 PM ...as is, sadly, the worst arteest. *cough* James Blunt

I rather like him, but feel ashamed to admit it now!
