So come on what have you got the forum to thank for?

Today, this very very day I had reason to thank the forum for knowledge that it had imparted to me ... via SF I believe!

...and it was for the term "dogging"! yes, that's it voyeuristic sex! we had a meeting a work about deviatent sexual practices and this one came up ... and I knew what it was! if pressed i would have given them the website link that SF posted up! (I dunno how he knows these things either!)

So how as the forum helped you in every day life? what wonderous questions have been answered via it's portals?

I am thankful that someone told me and I can't remember who it was that Michelle Bass [the bunny boiler] and Stu had split. I never really wish ill on people and I don't in this case either - jsut they were soooooo wrong for each other, and I felt sorry for his family, oh and him.

So thank you to who ever told me that - although I wish I knew more [like when, where etc]

I thank Flip regularly as I cook my Duck in lime and giner or do a smashingly yummy fish pie! My guests are always so impressed but don't worry I do say it's Flips recipe...they of course have no idea who Flip could possibly be and just stare blankly at me but hey...THANK-YOU FLIP!

I diss not Dolly. I still have moments when I spontaniously double over at our antics in Portsmouth. I love you and always will.

It was a great day.

My thanks is for keeping me sane.
How on earth can you lot keep me sane I wonder

Having small children, not much adult conversation during the day, you lot make me laugh and giggle and think about stuff I wouldn't normally think about.

Oh and I've got you lot to thank for the late nights, sat in front of this computer drinking too much :w00t:

I'd also like to thank the forum for allowing me to meet some seriously lovely (though quite mental) people, for giving me things to laugh at on a daily basis and for prompting me to think of things that I would never have thought of alone and consider forming an opinion on.

And if that sounds mawkish....well tough...'cause that's the way it is!

Since becoming self-employed, I work from home quite a lot and this is like my staff canteen where I can have a break.

So thanks all!!

I'd be stir crazy without you

And I've met some of you very nice people in Real Life (or in their cups, Cat  )

I want to thank all of you for being kind and giving me something to do when I am not subbing or being a domestic goddess. My 16 yr. old nearly fainted when I told him I joined a message board "thing" (he had to help me with my avatar) and thinks I've lost my marbles. This being the first time I've done anything like this at my age, but I've learned what a "sarnie" and a "buttie" was and I really enjoy the threads and all the personalities of everyone. I hope to meet y'all someday soon. Promise me you won't kidnap me and make me join a cult or something as my son will be horrified and justified...hahahahhahahahaha. Thanks to you all!! msgirl :funky:

You can tell your son the avatar is fab and that we of S.O. only dance naked in streams of yellow custard once a year as a form of worship to the God of puddings and all things yellow...so no worry about you getting sucked into a weird cult or anything!

I just want to thank everyone who I have met, fallen out with, become firm friends with, laughed with, chatted with, made snidey comments to, had snidey comments from, argued/debated with, flirted with as all these people have become part of my life.

When I joined this forum I had a small toddler and it was mundane talking "baby-talk" all the time. This place was like a breath of fresh air and you could air your points from the comfort of your own home with a cup of tea or glass of wine in hand!

It's had it's moment but all in all I have enjoyed the ride!! ;)

Following on from Paty's post, can I just say thanks to everyone on the board who has bought something from my shop? It is really appreciated!!

Also can I say a big thanks to Minklemar who showed me a new side to deodrants - on her recommendation I bought a crystal deodrant last year for £7 and there is still plenty of use in it. Saved me a fortune on deodrants and there is absolutely NO WHITE MARKS!!! :w00t:
