I cannot believe Sharon Osborne fell for this oily smarmy git's lines. "I always take flowers on a date and didnt want this to be an exception" - pluurssee - I thought our Shazza was a street wise woman of the world. I cant believe she fell for this utter rubbish!

floopy
03-10-2005, 11:52 AM
I thought that Shaz was totally mad too at first, but now i think she's hedging her bets in the hope that Chico will develop a cult following much like Darius did. He was cheesy and awful but for some reason we took to him. Put Chico up against the other nice-but-dulls in the contest this year and the public may well vote to keep him just for the entertainment factor.

Shaz has said a few times now that she made the mistake last series of looking for perfection, and that now she's looking for character instead. And Chico has character - an odious obnoxious one admittedly, but character nonetheless.

Hello Fee for all,

I have taken a look at chico's site details and i'm sorry he just isn't impressionable enough. Sadly, he has bought into the private nature of the music industry by financing all of these projects, but the reality is someone should really tell him he has more arrogance than gift. However, Sharon is right for once people will either like him or loathe him. Here in Newcastle we'd think of him in more descriptive and unprintable terms beginning with a W.

Having said that Simon is probably thinking that anyway and depending on how the public feel towards Simon, Chico could well be voted popular and stay in the competition for several weeks more in spite of Simons thoughts about him or any future performances

Bye the way Fee for all, I loved your fainting rolling goats and find them very entertaining.

Hello Isle of weather, :naughty: :naughty:

I can't help but laugh here. So sorry. But don't you like watching a male stripper at work.

It is unfortunate he got through to the final 12 but still you know the drama will unfold and it all depends on what the public feel towards Simon here. If Simon persists in disliking the man because of his character rather than making comments on his ability. Chico stands to spend quite a few more weeks in the competition.

Maybe the viewers want another Ricky Martin type. Who knows, time will tell.

In terms of quality that was also poor, a shame again because studio time can cost a lot in addition to mixing, CD duplication and marketing etc.

I thought whoever was their mentor was who they would get the record contract with as all 3 of them are record producers.

But hey, in today's world of music you don't have to be able to sing to make it into the charts, Anthony Costa has proved that!

Hello Bella,

Well something odd is truly a foot here. The cheeky girls who failed to make the talent show finalists, did end up with a number 2 or 3 slot in the top 20. Unbelievable, I predict chico will probably do the same. For the very reason the pop industry exists the plebs of society always rule that the underdog will survive against all odds, because the plebs of society in actual fact have no taste and no real ability to know what talent or gift is about. The plebs of society are only interested in getting drunk and shaking their booty, making themselves look proper t _ _ s, whilst on the town.

It is sad however that the younger generations particularly children are not given any real choice or variety in the music charts, and wil become attracted to extremely simple music forms. They are sadly an exploited mass by the music industry today and the merchandisers know that the profit margin will always be maintained by children with demands. Can you remember the last arena concert or stadium concert you went to, and just had to buy one or two items of merchandise and at a price inflated in accordance to venue size.

I'm not impressed with the show at all of late, and I feel that it is getting worse. The worst song performance of late for me was done by The Conway sisters attempting to popify in their usual tinnie fashion - "You Raise Me Up" which simply has to be listened to by Brian Kennedy in its original format, which is the only version worth listening to as - the composer and his team of musicians were engaged in a live recording using real instrumentalists a real choir and a real gospel singer for the verse usualy missing, from commercial pop versions. All else is karaoke disc.

Still the show goes on and reaches it's climax on the 17th December 2005 with or without Louis Walsh.

What do you think of the show now?

He knew they were better than him and he wasn't shy about saying it and as for the water it was about time a contestant used it in their act instead of a judge and no one better than Chico.

So a fond farewell Chico and I really hope he gets something out of it as he has made the most of his time in the spotlight and enjoyed every minute of it.

At least Chico showed that he's not bitter and took it all in good humour. Unlike the Conways who took any criticism badly. Look at what Chico has had thrown at him by Simon, yet he's still grateful for the chance he's been given. I just can't imagine the Conways would've wanted to sing after being booted.

As Simon would say, Chico was toe curling in his awfulness but also rather splendid!

Although last nights performance was ruined for me. I was round my parents house cos my brother and his family had come dow from Colchester for the pre-Christmas visit.

Well after persuading everyone to sit round and watch X-factor (whilst also feigning disinterest ... you try it and see how hard that is!) I had to endure my showoff sister in law and my equally show off and excitable niece singing along to Chico with my father on the other side muttering "Who is this idiot, what does he do?" over and and over like a mantra. I thought that was bad enough until Chico came in for the second song "The Time Warp" ... then my niece and SIL did ACTIONS too!!!! ergghhh

(How on earth they slipped under the net and got into our normally sedate and cynical family I really don't know!)

 i was sorry to see him go, love him or hate him, no-one can say he was'nt entertaining.

Yes, it was time for him to go - after all, sooner or later the show's got to start trying to appear like it's a serious competition (and pretend that it wasn't all decided that Shayne would be the winner months ago:wink2: ) but I can't help feeling the show, as Saturday night light entertainment, will be all the poorer for his absence.

Top marks to the guy for his lovely attitude and disposition as well. He made me smile, which is a lot more than I can say for any of the other overly-earnest and uncharismatic wannabes.

did anyone else think that Andy is slipping slightly? the look on his face last night said he wants to go home, he looked as if he has had enough!

I too think that Shane is going to win!

Louis & Simon were spot on with their comments about Andy, his first song was rubbish but he did up his game for the second. Sharon Osbourne as usual did her spoilt child routine when Louis & Simon dished the truth about Andy - Ooooh, that woman gets more & more annoying each week. Thinks she is soooo smug cos she has more acts than everyone else. I have a feeling that either Andy or Journey South may go next week as I think they have both become pretty boring really!

As much as I like Brenda, and she does have a fabulous voice I just wouldn't buy her CD's but I do think she is in with a great chance of winning!

I missed the last part of the X-factor, so who was Chico up against ? And who out of the judges picked who ? Did two of Sharons acts appear in the showdown, and who did she kick out ?

It was just down the voting, as decided by the great British Public :)

You sound bitter, Mo.

Hello blink,

I know when taping into computer it can be very easy, to give so much of oneself away. So your point of reference about the 'plebs of society' I've stated is seriously loaded from experience.

I know I should tell myself that even the dull and ignorant have there story, but sometimes I feel that it is just to much to ask the public at large to judge what is musical or what is talent. I suppose its a bit like expecting an unqualified judge to pass sentence in a court of law. Maybe even a lynch mob to take justice into its own hands.

From the point of my experience, I went to an audiiton for a revival of Opportunity knocks, This is the one where Bob Monkhouse was replacing Hughie Green as the show had reportedly bad fixers at work. I Sang note for note Summertime from the original Porgy and Bess. My voice was clear, strong and my diction was correct. I suppose I was then very much the KAtherine Jenkins of my day. I couldn't hear a pin drop. After my performance, I stood still the audience stood up and applauded. The piano player shook my hand and bowed his head, and I was asked to stay for a chat.

Lunch time came, and Bob Monkhouse plus a few of the television programme makers, came to tell me how moved they were by my performance and why they weren't puting me through. I was young and disappointed - as there reason was that I should consider becoming a professional singer via another route, televised talent shows they all went on to say were only for amateurs willing to make fools of themselves, in front of an audience who were neither qualified to read a note of music and biased by varied tastes, and the addition that a vested interest in one of there own would be a contestant.

A voice that had serious classical leanings would not find it easy to break the mould.

I have had work from some of the people I met way back then, but for classical singers and real musicians, your life could most definitely have been made easier, but retaining your professional status is very difficult when the industry is riddled by personalities as opposed to talented and gifted people. The passage of time still shows up with the same prejudices towards the talented and the gifted, as sadly in Britain mediocrity truly rules instead of that which is exceptional.

Apologies for off loading my cross and for sometimes coming over as a bit of a devil, or cynical individual.

for the purposes of comic continuity, all we need on the next series of X-Factor is an appearance from Groucho......

....................and then Harpo...............

...........followed by Zeppo.............................

.........and then maybe some goats can have a bash at trying to impress the judges.......

Hello Woodstock

That sounds great.

The co op have been advertising with some sheep, maybe some of there Northumbrian cousins could go through the audition process aswell.
