View Full Version : Maya Mad Monday!
Corrie looks good tonight as Maya goes Mad (or is that madder?)
There 3 episodes 7.30pm, 8.30pm & 10pm , what with IAC it looks a good nights viewing..... :)
Thank i ls - I knew there were to be 3 episodes but wasn't sure where the thrid one was to be.
I am going to have to tape the whole lot - I have an early meeting, and will miss the first one, I really wish I could cancel as I have lost my voice and I am very squeaky, very very squeaky!!
3 episodes though! :glare: Bit much that is. I can't sit in front of the TV for 4 hours (EE, corrie x3, IAC-- eek I can actually  and do regularly, but not sitting- I stand and do housework or sit ups or squat thrusts)
I was supposed to be disciplined tonight and do my college work. I made the effort by sitting down at my desk, but I made the mistake of coming online. I was always rubbish at doing my homework as a child and nothing changes. Arghhh I don't know what to do :excl:
Good greif - a bit dramatic that wasn't it??? Deidre getting pie-eyed and declaring undying love for Ken in the Italian and wanting to now marry him - cor edge of your set kinda telly!!!:wink2:
Oh I shall be sensible for one moment - I was so looking forward to this - but was rudely interrupted by a couple, who are really good firends who dropped by to tell me some jaw droppingly scandolous gossip - and I missed the middle Corrie. And after I got sent home from my meeting in order to watch all three and IAC.
But it was pretty spectacular, although so way over the top - I really feel sorry for Dev. And poor sunita - does she live - does anyone kow??
I've have no idea Flip - which I am quite pleased about - I hate knowing what is going to happen!
The explosion was fantastic and made me jump :)
Oh I do  this programme - I can't wait until Wednesday ..........
maxine 23-11-2004, 07:21 AM I was really disappointed with last night. The whole build up to the explosions was pretty boring. And Dev, what a godawful actor he is.
Bella 23-11-2004, 08:29 AM The best part was the 4 ladies in the Italian, it was hilarous!! Loved Liz's remark to Dierdre when there was a toast to her "Here's to Dierdre and all who's sailed in her" Absolute classic!!!! Hopefully we will get more girls' nights out!!
Andrea 23-11-2004, 01:13 PM I don't watch corrie, but happened to flick over when the girls were in the restaurant.
Can I just say, thank goodness Diedre has finally got rid of those bug-eyed glasses. She looked much better in her new ones, she must have been to spec-savers:laugh:
Anyone else think that newish woman (cant remember her name - think she's married to bradley walsh's character) is a terrible actress? I think she's awful!
PJ - I think you mean Frankie - she used to be in bad girls I think, but don't quote me on that as I didn't watch it (debra someone) I think Fly will know her name though as he is a big fan of bad girls.

PJ, I think it's the character, really i do as she was outstanding in bad girls. I think corrie writers are now trying to blend her in as "one of the girls" as a posh bird from down south was never going to work, hence the getting involved with Vera, working in the caf and night out with the girls. her character hasn't taken off at all, in fact the only one of that family that I have taken a like to is Danny.
Tonights episodes really had me on the edge of my seat ... I htought it was brilliantly filmed and Maya played such an evil, evil mad nutter she was fabulous.
The only thing that spoilt it was Sunita's continual one pitch whinge - I know the poor girl had her mouth taped up but her pathetic mewings were near enough unbearable!!
I wonder if Maya is dead then??
I would think so Flippy... I thought it was it was really exciting tonight!! I'm glad Dev & Siantia got out in the end...
Great episode! So is Maya brown bread then? I hope not - she's great!

My thoughts exactly Flip! In the final scene when Maya was driving the car at them I actually started laughing and couldn't stop becasue the wailing was so funny and then when she put the car into reverse, Sunita started wailing all over again :tv_happy: hysterical
maxine 25-11-2004, 07:06 AM I missed the first one last night but the second one was very exciting. Agree about the Sunita's 'pathetic mewings'. My only disappointment was that Charlie got out alive.
Dolores 25-11-2004, 07:23 AM I haven't watched Corrie properly for ages and have definitely avoided the "Mad Maya" special as these kind of story lines, whether in Eastenders, Emmerdale or Corrie, I usually find embarrassing to watch as they are so naff. I did watch the last one last night at 10pm.
It was good and I did keep watching but I was as gobsmacked as anyone when the juggernaut rammed into Maya .... I mean what a lucky ram? How many big big lorries have you seen down the side road that is Coronation St?!!
and yeh it was a shame Charlie got out ... actually it was a shame any of them got out!
I did feel a lump in my throat as Sally was panicking looking for Rewsie ... as Kev was gathering her up to take on a "call out" I thought he should have told her he was taking here - it's only common sense ain't it?!
I hope, I just hope that is the last we see of Maya - surely she can't keep on coming back can she?
Bella 25-11-2004, 09:06 AM Well, according to GMTV mad Maya lives to survive another day!!! I am with you Dol, where on earth did that bloomin' big lorry appear from?? Maya was brilliant though, her acting and sneering made up for the patheticness (is this a word?) from Sunita and Dev!! Dev is just the most awful actor on TV, he says all his lines in the same monotone way. I wonder what people pay for insurance down Coronation Street way, what with murderers, crazy nutters and Les Battersby as your neighbours!!!
Bonsai 25-11-2004, 09:17 AM I loved this too, and was on the edge of my seat during the last part.
I couldnt stand Sunitta's cat wails too, and would gladly of slapped her myself if i were in the room.
I thought it was good stuff though and cant wait to see what happens with Maya, and how Dev is going to make a living. I hope he was insured.
Another spoiler ...........
I read somewhere that Fred looses the pub to Mike in a card game
