View Full Version : Tonights Show 27th August
If we are not going to get our own slot then I am going to seperate the shows as I just don't know where to start...so there.
Watched last nights, this morning when I was doing the ironing. A good show, loved the lateness after Elt's Doo, great celebrity TV. Best contenders were:
The girl band - Addiction or something, I really think with proper training they will shape up
Fortune - always thought the were good and harmonised beautifully but last year they were very up their own bottoms - they were against another band from the same town wern't they, Southampton? What happened to them? But they certainly deserved to go through again - good luck to them.
The 16 year old with THE VOICE - what a lovely, lovely chap.
Tyrique - Oh so handsome and with a lovely voice, felt quite sorry for him it was probably the first time he had ever been knocked back in his life, this will do him good. Very marketable. I'd ave im....or would that be deemed improper
And my boy Steve making an appearance on Xtra with Ben. Why oh Why oh Why (points of view stylee) do people have such a problem with this poor bloke, he's smashing. His big smile still makes me go gooey at the knee's.
A good show, loved the Cowel flirting with contestants - I think we are going to be let in on a more human side of the judges this time.
Patsy 28-08-2005, 04:46 PM The lovely young 16 year old chap was adorable, wasn't he. What about McKenzie, the 4 year old. Mixed feelings about that. He thinks he's won something. Will they give him a pseudo prize, do you think? They can't let him through because he's not old enough, but he should have something.
My favourite bit was the guy in Newcastle who was convinced he had everything, the one in the white suit with the woman who came in with him for support. What a pillock. Simon's one-line put-downs in the corridor outside were brilliant.
I've said already on the judges thread that I thought Louis was gutted that he hadn't let Fortune through last time, but wouldn't admit he had been wrong, even when Simon and Sharon badgered him about it. Why not just say something like "they are definitely better this year, but I stand by my decision last year, based on their performance then and the other contestants".
Yep, classic moment by man in piano tie
Piano Tie Man: "you will regret this Simon"
Simon "no I won't"
PTM "you made the wrong decision"
S "No I didn't"
PTM "you have been wrong"
S "No I havnt"
What a tosser....wake up and smell your self mate, you are made of this.. :pooh:
Dolores 28-08-2005, 04:52 PM What about McKenzie, the 4 year old. Mixed feelings about that. He thinks he's won something. Will they give him a pseudo prize, do you think? They can't let him through because he's not old enough, but he should have something.
yeh a mother in touch with reality would be a good start!
I kinda agreed with Louis about Fortune ... I think the time for that type of "boy band" has passed by. There's probably not a lot of orginality about them. Whereas the Brothers last week seemed to have a bit of something else ... although personally I didn't rate them cos I just don't like vocal harmonisation stuff very much.
As for the woman was was backing singer on Meatloaf's song ... well I saw another woman as desparate as Rowetta, please don't subject us to that again!
I thought the bloke in the piano tie was a very natty dresser!! ... don't these people have mirrors?!
HOW COULD I FORGET DOROTHY!
No she shouldn't have gone through, but how could you let this little gem just slip away...she was so funny and adorable.
"Sorry I can't see you dear"
"Sorry I can't hear you dear, what did you say"
and best when Simon bought her out to meet Kate and said she was through...Kate "So you're going to Boot Camp"...Dotty, stumpling along " I havn't got a clue where I'm going dear"
WUNDERBAR!!
DOTTY TO WIN
Patsy 28-08-2005, 05:02 PM She was lovely and she made good telly, but what's the point of letting her through when she clearly WON'T win, Cat, however important your vote may be?
About Fortune, Dol, whether or not you or he think they have 'it', that's not my point. I think Louis was squirming. He let them through to the final 5 bands last time. They were better this time, in Sharon and Simon's opinion, but Louis wasn't going to let them through at all because his pride was hurt. I'm clearly no expert, but I actually think they are quite different. They're all dark-skinned, which is unusual, isn't it? There's usually a bit of a PC mixture in boy-bands these days.
Addictive Ladies (stupid name) were ok, but I don't think they'll cut the mustard.
Dolores 28-08-2005, 05:04 PM About Fortune, Dol, whether or not you or he think they have 'it', that's not my point.
might not have been your point Patsy ... but it was mine!!
Patsy 28-08-2005, 05:06 PM If you put two points together do you get a precipice?
Dolores 28-08-2005, 05:07 PM If you put two points together do you get a precipice?
what point are you making now? i don't understand. should I be ashamed of my lack of education?
Patsy 28-08-2005, 05:08 PM I'm not making a point I'm going off on a tangent and asking a bleedin' question. Sheesh!
what point are you making now? i don't understand. should I be ashamed of my lack of education?
I havn't got a clue either Doll, me thinks Patsy's been at the bleach again.
Fee For All 28-08-2005, 05:35 PM What about the old biddy with the shopping trolley - and the weird one who sang all the time 'for her nerves'
I wanted to strangle the 4 year old. But he was quite funny on xfactor extra with Ben Shepherd.
The Michael Jackson lookalikee was a bit strange.
And Cat,
Why oh Why oh Why (points of view stylee) do people have such a problem with this poor bloke, he's smashing.
He's a lazy, arrogant, peabrain who wants the success without putting the effort in. I'm glad he's been dropped, he deserved it!!
Bella 28-08-2005, 05:49 PM Piano-tie man was hilarous, was that his mum he took along? He was so cringe-worthy. the thing is he has probably been told by the grannies & grandads that frequent the club he sings that he is brilliant and that he would win the X-factor. The thing is Sharon also said no, but he didn't have a go at her.
The young 16 year old who looked about 12 had a fab voice but I think it will be a few years before he could do it!
Dorothy was sweet but I don't think they should have put her through - do they claim expenses or do they have to foot the bill themselves? It's not fair, she won't be going any further so why humilate her even more?
btw - the girl band last year who was in Louis's group, what was their name?
Fee For All 28-08-2005, 05:51 PM Voices With Soul? The mother. daughter and auntie gospelly singers?
Patsy 28-08-2005, 05:54 PM Piano-tie man was hilarous, was that his mum he took along? He was so cringe-worthy. the thing is he has probably been told by the grannies & grandads that frequent the club he sings that he is brilliant.
I can see Brian Potter booking him for the Phoenix Club. He'd gor down right well thur.
Bella 28-08-2005, 05:56 PM Voices With Soul? The mother. daughter and auntie gospelly singers?
That's the one Fee, thanks!!
,
He's a lazy, arrogant, peabrain who wants the success without putting the effort in. I'm glad he's been dropped, he deserved it!!
no he is not...he's a dish, a doll wolly kind. He worked hard, what on earth do you have to do....he's handsome and can sing - gets a preview to my pants any day.
he's handsome and can sing
Do you really think so Cat? I can't see it myself
Piano-tie man was hilarous, was that his mum he took along?
I think it was his singing partner, she seemed embarrassed to be with him to me.
secrets 28-08-2005, 08:06 PM I actually watched this, and i thought it was rubbish lol.
I'll wait until it gets a bit further down the line, and the wheat has been sorted from the chaff.
Patsy 28-08-2005, 08:23 PM The wheat/chaff sorting stages are my favourite bits. It never ceases to amaze me that so many severely untalented, mostly unattractive and usually unstable people put themselves up for ridicule year in year out. And not just this show. Some even try the others, just in case!!
Fee For All 28-08-2005, 08:28 PM no he is not...he's a dish, a doll wolly kind. He worked hard, what on earth do you have to do....he's handsome and can sing - gets a preview to my pants any day.
You're right - let me rephrase:
He's unprofessional, cocky and with an unkind streak. He is also a PR disaster.
With the talent of your average pub singer and of vaguely simian appearance.
mazwad 28-08-2005, 08:30 PM I think it was his singing partner, she seemed embarrassed to be with him to me.
Yes it was his singing partner Ils and she did indeed look uncomfortable. I bet he shouts her down at every opportunity because he came over as that sort of bloke.
I really wanted them to ask her if she could sing wouldn't it have been great if she had a good voice and they had taken her and not him.
I think they should have complimented Dorothy on her voice and then gently have explained she was not what they were looking for, taking her to boot camp is just taking the pi$$ out of the whole competition and a very old lady.
What was allowing the 4 year old in all about, they have rules about age and should stick to them otherwise they will be inundated with stage mothers.
Coastie 29-08-2005, 07:24 AM James was cute! He looked about 12 bless him but what a voice!
What the heck was piano man on...he was scarey forget talented...I guess as an entertainer M/C type he'd be fine but as a pop idol...er no!
Fortune are back...well well....it looks like they've improved since last year so lets see if they are still the one trick pony they once were or if they now have a touch of versitility about them.
You're right - let me rephrase:

Does this mean that Sharon was right about him all along? Her outburst on last years' live final- was she seeing somethng we didn't?
Has he been dropped by Simon?
maz I was willing the judges to ask piano mans partner to sing to! Lol that would have been so funny.
Agree about dorothy, they shouldn't have put her through becasue boot camp lacks all the fun and hilarity of the first audition and its time to get real.
They are using her. On the flip side I hope she gets something good out of it, I don't mean a pop career, but a nice day out.
And little 4 year old chappie, well they obviously let him through to lighten things up and he was cute, but with way to much atitude for a 4 year old, wagging his finger at everyone.
Fee For All 29-08-2005, 09:15 AM Well according to him, he wanted to leave to make his own music. You can read his comments in full on his website (http://www.stevebrookstein.co.uk/board/viewtopic.php?t=5477&start=0)
His comments to less than sycophantic fans beggar belief. (Not just the ones in this post).

Larf! The post under his was from a girl from Bedford....must be something in the air here.
I liked him and still do.
Fee, it isn't clear whether you like him or not - be more precise.
Patsy 29-08-2005, 09:49 AM :w00t:
Fee For All 29-08-2005, 10:18 AM I'll dish the dirt in Dublin.
(Now ^^^ that is more lyrical than anything Steve B. could produce :cool2: )

Wow thats quite a fan base he's got there!
Dolores 29-08-2005, 10:41 AM how creepy is that site Fee! All they're avatars are pictures of him! makes me shudder! what a tosser he is! he was always average on X-factor and Sharon's outburst helped him win no end, so did the battle that Louis and Sharon had against Simon.
The way the x-factor is set up the winner is the judge ... Simon won the x-factor NOT Steve.
I think I might join his website ... now where can I get a picture of Sharon for my avatar! :whistling

lol I was thinking along the same lines Dol! :angel_not
sayangmouse 29-08-2005, 11:41 AM Do you think thats him posting on the site (Steve I mean), or some hired PR person. All sounds too polite and sober if you know what I mean, if I were him I'd be a bit meaner to the slag off merchants there.
Fee For All 29-08-2005, 12:43 PM I think telling them to 'get a life, or better, take your own', or starting a poll to decide whether to shove one of them off Beachy Head is not recommended PR activity :shocking:
Plus most PR folk can spell

good grief! :shocking:... err do you think we could entice him over here ... it sounds like it would be fun!! :pimp: ...he wouldn't last five minutes ... and it would satisfy our bloodlust for a short time at least!
Andrea 29-08-2005, 10:06 PM how creepy is that site Fee! All they're avatars are pictures of him! makes me shudder!
that's what wierded me out too :shocking:
(I can't decide if wierd is spelt wierd or weird?)
ladyritz 30-08-2005, 04:38 PM I'll dish the dirt in Dublin.

Hummm Steve Brookstien has a wonderfull voice
I'll dish the dirt in Dublin.
(Now ^^^ that is more lyrical than anything Steve B. could produce :cool2: )
There really must be some other reason why people are so venomous about him - something I don't know.
I shall wait for Dublin then.
We shall meet behind the 3rd pillar along in the City Hall entrance at 9pm :pimp: .
Lemon Sherbet 31-08-2005, 09:58 PM I think they should have complimented Dorothy on her voice and then gently have explained she was not what they were looking for, taking her to boot camp is just taking the pi$$ out of the whole competition and a very old lady.
I agree about this, its just cruel that they let her in. She is so old and doddery that she wont know whats going on. Its not even like she can sing well or anything. They are just taking the mickey out of her.
Patsy 31-08-2005, 10:15 PM I don't think they were taking the mickey so much as patronising her. Either way, it's a waste of her time and effort.
Coastie 01-09-2005, 04:30 AM Anyone else notice this at the top of Steves site?
We need mods! If you fancy yourself as a Steve Moderator then please email modapplications(at)aol.com by Friday 17th June with details of why you'd make a great moderator. Please use the subject line 'Steve Moderator Application'.
Go on Dol...you know you want to! :naughty:
I liked Steve for most of the show but was disapointed with his choice of first single and well....have lost interest in him now!
It was so wrong putting Dorothy through....bless her!
