My pet car a Morris traveller suffered the death of an engine. My favourite garage man came to the house and shook his head, I choked back tears and decided its fortytwoyear old engine that has done 204000miles will have to be replaced, I will add a new clutch because its prudent and cheap with the engine out. I may replace the front floor pans if they have less than three years left, but they look good, so ... my garage man will come and collect it in two weeks and my pet car will be back in time for Christmas.
It is a car, but its like our dog, its unthinkable we would not have it, its part of the family.
18 year old came home form college and walked into kitchen saying
"Come here, poor Mummy Oh you must be broken hearted"...and just gave me a huge nurturing hug and kiss on the top of my head.
She is growing up and its as a wonderful human being, so proud of her.
