View Full Version : Bush Tucker Trials - random choice or not.
borneobabe 22-11-2004, 10:30 PM NOT - me thinks !! Watching the show tonight brought back memories from last year and the whole issue of who gets the most votes from the public to do the Bush Tucker Trial. There is no question in my mind after the first couple of shows..that the editing of the nightly programme leans extremely heavily towards influencing the public on who to vote for, and it was exactly the same thing last year. I knew as soon as Ant and Dec entered the camp this evening it was going to be between Janet and Paul... the editing of the show left no other result possible. Last night's editing of Natalie sealed her fate as well. Its going to be fun to sit back and watch these nightly shows... and see is it going to be as transparently obvious who the top two choices are each evening. I think without doubt it will be.
What I noticed last series was that apart from those who were booted out early on, I think everybody had to do at least one BTT. I thought the editing swung along quite nicely moving from one victim and villain to another.
You're right of course BB. The 'highlight' of yesterdays show was Natallie's overreaction to everything. The next step was to home in on Paul and his natural antagonist Janet. I think the producers are hoping for something a lot sparkier than we've seen tonight, but made do with a reasonably polite difference of opinion to get us fired up and voting for Paul and Janet. I wonder who tomorrow's lucky couple will be?
Voice of reason 23-11-2004, 09:29 PM Have to agree, it was obvious Brian would get this one as soon as they started showing footage of him moaning about the food. I think this has happened more since IAC 2 when Fash got a run of BTT's. Either way, it's becoming more obvious.
Andrea 23-11-2004, 09:35 PM I was watching more tonight for this and who were the main two edited in the most, Brian and Paul, so it does seem to be getting a bit more obvious.
Haydon 23-11-2004, 09:46 PM Tonight, it was blatant manipulation of the viewing public.
borneobabe 23-11-2004, 09:56 PM Well .... surprise surprise....Brian is doing the PIE trial.... if ever a theory was proven correct, then tonight was it. The entire surprise element is gone now... it looks like we will see it coming with bells on who is doing the nightly challenge. Oh well.
Pandora 23-11-2004, 11:03 PM Tonight, it was blatant manipulation of the viewing public.I agree. The psychological manipulation isnt even subtle anymore is it?
Natalie is shown being phobic of her own shadow and says she hates heights - she gets the first bush tucker trial involving heights.
Janet is seen to be spitting venom & striking out like a puff adder - she gets the snake trial
Brian is seen to be whingeing about food - he gets the food trial.....

Let's hope no-one complains about the toilets...
What about the other year tho when Fash was picked for most of them?
Bella 24-11-2004, 06:58 AM What about the other year tho when Fash was picked for most of them?
..........maybe just a fluke Cat, but this year is as Haydon quite rightly points out it was blatant manipulation of the viewing public!
I just knew it was going to be between Paul and Brian tonight with Brian getting the BTT! It was so obvious. I just wonder who they will pick on tonight for selective editing................ :glare:
Voice of reason 24-11-2004, 11:10 AM What about the other year tho when Fash was picked for most of them?
Well, my opinion is that up until then the editing wasn't so skewed, now however it seems they want to avoid that happening so are editing so as to influence the vote. It's because of Fash's run it's happening.
Taffy 24-11-2004, 11:19 AM Tonight, it was blatant manipulation of the viewing public.
I fully agree with you Haydon.
Mind you the show only lasted 45 mins
For the first time that I can recall I was actually disappointed with the show last night. I was going to bring this up last night - but my bed was far too tempting.
This was so engineered for us 'fools' over here to vote for Brian. It was not going to be anyone else was it really??
I feel like ITV are taking us for mugs and their editing is just hopelessly skewed to manipulate us. And it would be no good saying to everyone here pay no attention - it is psychological control. Very clever and very devious ITV!:glare:
Bella 24-11-2004, 05:06 PM We haven't even seen anything of Natalie, are we just to assume that she has settled into jungle life and all that drama in the first day is well and truly behind her?
I tuned in for a bit of the live feed this afternoon, GAWD it was boring! Don't know where Vic was, but he wasn't around in the camp. I swtiched off after about 5 minutes of nothing!
I think you will find that the 'live feed' was not actually live..... It would be the middle of the night now, so they would be asleep...
What they show is what happened whilst we were asleep last night. I didn't see Vic there either when I tuned in, I think they were showing footage of before he arrived in camp..
I suspect the producers think they can manipulate the viewers as easily as they manipulate the inmates. They're getting away with it at the moment, but I'll be surprised if the public put up with it for long. I can already feel myself backing off...
survivorfan 25-11-2004, 07:10 AM This doesn't seem to explain the regular voting for P Burrell though.
maxine 25-11-2004, 07:13 AM No, I thought, from last night's editting, it would be Sheila or possibly Vic, but then they didn't give out his number till later in the show. i wouldn't be surprised if he or Nancy were next up.
Andrea 25-11-2004, 12:33 PM I was really surprised last night how it was between Burrell and Reeves.
Vic Reeves' number had only been up for about 10 minutes yet in that time he had apparently collected enough votes to be one of the "it might be you".
Very strange if you ask me.
