It has been lovely, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/smilies/sunshine.gif and warm today with blue skies and no http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/smilies/clouds.gif but now it very http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/smilies/1.gif here on the south coast.
Andrea 31-10-2004, 10:05 PM Same here ils, lovely day today, although it did cloud over in the afternoon, and I couldn't believe I had to put the lights on in the house at about 3pm.
Aww, well, winter is finally upon us.
Today on the South Coast it is really dull and overcast http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/clouds.gif and very chilly http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/1.gif
The http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/sunshine.gif is shinning here on the South Coast and it is very mild, even the rabbit has come out to play
Bonsai 10-11-2004, 11:26 AM Lol about the rabbit. Mines living in the nice warm kitchen at the moment, and wont go back outside until the spring :wink2:
Its cold in London today. It was mild yesterday, but blummin cold today.
Lol about the rabbit. Mines living in the nice warm kitchen at the moment, and wont go back outside until the spring :wink2:
Ours lives outside all year around, and she only stays in the hutch when it is raining http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/rain.gif
The sun has gone in now and it is all overcast http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/clouds.gif
Andrea 18-11-2004, 09:50 AM Well it's been raining this morning, but it now starting to get very cold.
A weather front is moving down Britain today and behind it is very cold air. (Hubby is happy about this, he loves the north winds coming down, says it brings the fish in:rolleyes: )
They have forecast snow for people up in Scotland, and even as far down as the Yorkshire moors.
The fire is going to be on early today, me thinks:)
Bonsai 18-11-2004, 10:01 AM It was raining in London this morning, but i think it has stopped.
It is very cold though - about 9 degrees today, so im well wrapped up.
tigger 18-11-2004, 10:50 AM Rain, plus more rain.
No rain here yet but it is very cold :(
tigger 18-11-2004, 11:50 AM I can cheerfully send some rain your way ILS.
It's ok Tiggs, you can keep it :)
Yesterday it was nice and sunny but freezing. Today its overcast and freezing. And we have been forecast for a bit of snow soon. Horray!! :)
PCGamer 18-11-2004, 01:31 PM Here in Würzburg(Germany) it's a rainy and cloudy day with a temperature of about 8° - 9° C.
Voice of reason 18-11-2004, 05:19 PM It's snowing here in Warwickshire! I lit the log burner earlier because it was cold and damp, and we are all cosy inside, watcing the snow outside, it's settling too :)
oOOOOOOOOOH snow V??? I am so jealous - I was desperate for snow today.
We have just had watery sunshine and a chillybombilly wind.
secrets 18-11-2004, 06:07 PM Yep plenty of the white stuff here too.
Snowing, wow. It must be much colder in the midlands than it is here. At the moment the temperature is moderate, but it's absolutely chucking it down and has been all day. The drains are barely able to cope and the conditions are excellent for aquaplaning if you hit a puddle fast enough.
I'm so jealous Voice, we hardly ever get http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/snow.gif here :(
It is a little http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/1.gif here but not cold enough for http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/snowflakes.gif
Andrea 18-11-2004, 09:45 PM No snow here:sad:
Just miserable rain and wind.
Although they have forecast wintry showers for tomorrow because we are going to get hit with all those big blue arrows that they show on the weather maps.
Hope I don't get one stuck on my head:laugh:
Och, I wanted to be the first one on the MB to get snowed upon! I hope it hasn't bypassed us up here :(
It snowed here last night. It was wonderfull, Freddie stood out in it laughing and trying to catch the flakes, his little face was a picture. There is only a light covering now, but the sky this morning is fantastic, a beautifull lilac/pink. :)
Still no http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/snow.gif here on the South Coast. We have clear blue skies and no http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/clouds.gif but it is very http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/1.gif
I would love some http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/snowflakes.gif , it just isn't fair!
Andrea 19-11-2004, 12:03 PM No snow here either. Lovely day though, clear blue skies but very cold.
We have lots of http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/clouds.gif now and it is getting http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/1.gif !
Voice of reason 19-11-2004, 12:14 PM It's a beautiful clear sunny day here now, very cold and with snow lying. It all looks very pretty and the roads are clear and safe. I love days like this :)
Now you are just trying to make us all jealous Voice :)
Still no snow up here (how come you lot are getting snow and you're so much more south than me ) but today was lovely and sunny and very very cold - don'ty think the temp rose above 1 degree!
kookycat 20-11-2004, 10:47 PM bet u wished u lived in the good ol deen now eh? me bf went sledging yesterday, i couldnt be arsed coz i lost my cute wee gloves with grippy love hearts. so sulked in bed instead.
I know I have a tendancy to blather on about stuff that no-one is ineterested in BUT I peeled 11 kgs of potatoes on Friday night for my hubby's surprise party on Saturday night. I put them in a large bin, filled with water and on Saturday morning I went to get them to prepare them for Jannsen's Temptations [i will fill anyone in if they are interested]
... there was about an inch of thick ice on the top - I could hardly break the ice to get them out!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say it has been jolly cold here - it looked like snow on both Sat and this morning - but it was actually just a very thick frost.
Lucky you Kooks - I am dying for the snow!!
Andrea 21-11-2004, 11:01 PM tonight I'm sure the temperature has gone up, it feels much warmer outside.
Well not really warm, but you know what I mean.
kookycat 23-11-2004, 05:50 PM well its all washed away now. a bit warmer, i might even wear a skirt tomorrow!!
Bonsai 25-11-2004, 09:43 AM Its quite chilly willy in London, and very dull BUT at least its not raining.
Chilly willy http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/1.gif and dull here as well :(
Bonsai 30-11-2004, 02:51 PM Its 9 degrees in London today, but dry. Unfortunately its been dull too.
It is really cold here this morning, I didn't want to get out of bed. And it gets better there is ..wind and rain forcast for this afternoon....
Somewhere in another thread I mentioned that we have had very little electricity over the weekend caused by the gale force winds.
All our little streams have become raging torrents and the wind has not really dissapated yet - it is still blowing a hoolly. Thankfully we are far enough away from any of the rivers too pose a threat to flooding, but the same can't be said for those in Carlisle and Corbridge [on the Tyne].
We have tons of branches all over the place, I even tired to reverse a gibonkers one that had fallen on the drive, missing the car by inches - and I didn't even see it!!! And a few trees down - but this just makes investigating the wildlife underneath it so much more exciting.
Andrea 10-01-2005, 09:23 AM bit blowy here as well, but not as bad as other places I suspect.
I've been going onto a weather forum and reading what they have been saying.
It's really quite interesting, seeing all the charts and projected charts.
Some of them reckon we could be in for a cold snap the middle of Jan with snow in the east.
But then others are saying it won't happen, it's hilarious.
I couldn't sleep Friday night for the noise of the wind and as I was walking to Deepdale on Saturday afternoon several BIG trees on the park had been blown to the ground, it would have taken some force because they are MASSIVE trees... one had been split in half...
Apart from that I've not seen much damage, I'm a fair bit away from the river in Preston so we're quite safe from flooding (I think/hope!)... I suppose you can never be 100% safe though...
It's not windy at the moment, just grey and miserable... wish the summer would hurry up...
floopy 10-01-2005, 11:31 AM So far, in my part of the world, three bin bags have been made homeless.
I blame the government.
It is not too windy down here on the South Coast, but it is very wet and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/1.gif.....
Torbay has been rain, rain, and more fecking rain - with Gale Force winds - Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.......................... .......NOT!!!!!
Half of Miss Jades washing had ended up in next door but ones garden on Saturday morning when I got up!!! Thankfully it wasnt he D&G or Von Dutch Jeans - she is SUCH a Fashion Victim, at least she is OVER her Playboy faze!!!!
claire 10-01-2005, 02:30 PM Rainy here but I love watching the rain, it is so peaceful. I love the sound of rain and as long as I haven't just blow dried my hair, I love walking in it...
It is really unpleasant here! Very windy, cold and wet :(
Eternity 11-01-2005, 06:01 PM Nasty here too, with a real stormy night coming up too!
Andrea 11-01-2005, 10:12 PM Not too bad here, a bit windy.
I hope all you guys up there in bonnie Scotland aren't having too bad a night. The winds are supposed to be quite severe up there.
Gusting to 90-100mph at times. Batton down the hatches guys and take care.
Bella 12-01-2005, 07:26 AM What a wild night we had!! :wink2: And the weather was pretty wild too!! I thought the windows were going to cave in at some point. It is very very windy and very very wet this morning! And I need to go out in about 15 minutes to take Katie to school. Abbie hates having the raincover on her buggy, so she will be screaming all the way to school or I might just have to put her in the sling and wrap up! Either way, it is not going to be very pleasant today!
Yeah Bella - I saw on the news that Edinburgh [as well as most of Scotland] took a battering last night!! Glad your wild night was without damage however:wink2: , I was thinking that the little ones will be blown off their feet - but then thought you may be too!!
We just have heavy heavy winds - not gale force just very cold and constant. But there are periodic glimpses of the sun.
I hope it wasn't to bad for everyone in Scotland and up North today!
On the South Coast it was quite windy and cold but we did have clear blue skies....
claire 13-01-2005, 11:07 AM Its such a beautiful day, I have been out this morning and it was stunning! It makes you happy! :bye:
It is a beautiful day here as well Claire, no wind, blue skies with very little cloud although it is very cold outside. Unfortunately I am having to say in (waiting for a parcel for miss ils) or I would have gone to the town this morning!
I wonder how our northern members are getting on.......
Andrea 13-01-2005, 12:16 PM It's a lovely day here too, a little bit cold but very sunny.
Hope everyone up north is ok and wasn't battered about too much in the storm.
There are quite a few trees down in the surrounding area, but thankfully not too much damage, despite the storms we have come out the other end completely unscathed, and despite the ferocity I feel quite lucky.
It has, likewise been beautiful and sunny here today too - but goodness gracious sooooo cold, the frost has not lifted all day and it is back with a vengance this evening. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
It is very cold and dull today, although the sun came out for a few minutes earlier when we won
Well have you seen the weather forecast for the next few days??
Severe weather warning, snow blizzards and gales!!
I wonder who will be first with snow??
It is about 6 degrees, sunny and a little bit windy [quite nice really].

Im guessing it will be YOU, Peeej or Kooks 1st Flip, as you are the ones furthest north.....(that I can think of!!!)
we just have a niiiiiiiice battleship grey sky with lots of damp misty rain, you know, the type that SOAKS you in seconds!
Andrea 17-01-2005, 11:44 AM same here, dank and miserable, grey cloudy sky:sad:
Apparently the snow is going to be in the north (of course) and northern Ireland, and north west Britain.
But Scotland may be hit by strong winds causing drifting.
somehow I doubt I will see any snow.
Coastie 17-01-2005, 12:44 PM We have a bit of rain and some Southwesterly gales blowing at the mo! Lovely white horses out the window and completely overcast!
claire 17-01-2005, 12:52 PM Cold today, overcast... not risking a walk with 3 kids I think its going to rain any minute!!
It is cold, wet and windy here! Now I am home, I am not going anywhere!
Andrea 17-01-2005, 12:58 PM I've got to go and pick my other son up from school at 3pm and you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be raining then, even if its not rained all day:sad:
Well it's snowing here in Central Scotland - and it's proper snow too! Huge big flakes and every where is covered in a thick white sheet. If only we had gotten this much snow at Christmas!
Apparently there's blizzards forecast for tomorrow
tonee 17-01-2005, 06:44 PM Blizzards forecast in Ireland.I love the weather.
I love the weather.
So do I Tonee - funny thing to say however?! :wink2: Oh and we still don't have snow - so peej was first hoorahhhhh!!
Well it's snowing here in Central Scotland - and it's proper snow too! Huge big flakes and every where is covered in a thick white sheet. If only we had gotten this much snow at Christmas!
You lucky thing PJ - we hardly ever get snow here! Although it really is cold enough today!
I've got to go and pick my other son up from school at 3pm and you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be raining then, even if its not rained all day:sad:
Andrea, this is the sods law of the school run..It will always rain between 8.30 and 9.00 and 3pm and 3.30pm. Always. Guaranteed. And this just proves that God is a man!

Quite right, too. :wink2:
It just snowed here, briefly, and now we have tall ranks of cold gusty sideways rain walking down the valley. Brrrr!
Woke to w white world!! Hoorah!!
But it is only a smattering ... boohoo.
Does anyone else get slightly irritated at the hoohar the tv people are making about the weather?? OK, they predicted correctly that a lot of the country would have snow - but goodness me, it has hardly 'extreme' or so disrupting? On GM:TV this morning one of the reporters was in Glasgow, and there seemed about an inch or two or wet slushy snow - cars were driving about fine, with seemingly little disruption.
Can anyone remember the snow we used to get in 'the good old days'?? When a snow fall was about knee deep and you still had to walk to school?
survivorfan 18-01-2005, 08:28 AM I remember the snow in the good old days too - they just don't make snow like they used to do they?
Have to say I agree with you about how excited the reporters get about a bit of weather - but maybe it's justified, because do you remember a couple of years back when we had six inches of snow and people were stuck in their cars on motorways overnight! As a country we are ridiculousy poor at coping with even tiny extremes of weather - well, extremes of anything really.
Compare with Chicago where my sis in law drives from the city centre to the outskirts 30 miles each day, a couple of winters back there was an 18" snowfall overnight, next morning she was able to drive to work and arrive on time - they are prepared for it.
Well if you could see what I see out of my office window, it looks like a summers day, the sun is shining and the sky is brillaint blue - its SO bluddy COLD though.....
I have Mr Q's thermal long johns on today  with 3 layers on top!!! I dont DO cold!
Andrea 18-01-2005, 09:34 AM Here we've got clear blue skies but it is cold.
they have forcast hail for later on this afternoon.
Apparently Glasgow got alot of snow last night with blizzard conditions, and N. Ireland and Wales also got some.
But down Devon way its going to get windy with gusts possibly 60-70mph.
All we get here is rain and more rain :(
Andrea 18-01-2005, 01:56 PM  We've just had some snow:ohmy:
When I say some, I mean a very, very light shower lasting about 5 minutes.
snow snow?? Did per chance I mention snow earlier today?? I have no idea why - cos we don't have even a slight snot of it - depsite an hour and a half blizzard where seeing a hand in front of your face was nigh on impossible.
Apparently we had a mini tornado in Plymouth last night.
Andrea 18-01-2005, 02:22 PM On this other site I go on, they have talked about tornadoes and snow showers with thunder possibly happening.
Although they do tend to get a bit over excited at the mere mention of snow.
Apparently we had a mini tornado in Plymouth last night.you sure it wasnt a touch of wind love?!?!
Did you get any snow Dab? They have had some in Brixham!!!!
We had a few flurries, yes. I've just seen the damage from our tornado - trees uprooted and stuff. Shouldn't be allowed, should it?
I have just got back from a walk and it certainly is cold enough for snow but there is no sign of it at all.
Coastie 18-01-2005, 04:40 PM Well we have a northwesterly gale blowing down here so you're darn right it's cold!
More snow today! :)
PJ - Stop rubbing it in :ranting:
Well all the snow has finally disappeared here.
But today is just one of those perfect winter days - very sunny, not a cloud in the sky and absolutely cripy clear and frosty. Tempis about -3C. Don't think we'll make it above freezing today!
The weather this morning was fantastic a crisp frost covering with a blue, blue sky. Now its clouded over with what could almost be snow clouds....its certainly cold enough.
Please snow, please please please.
We have just had a flurry - not a McD's flurry but of the cold wet stuff, and cos it is so cold it is lying - this does bode really well for tonight!!!
tonee 22-01-2005, 02:34 PM Wet and blowy with a grey shadow.
Andrea 22-01-2005, 03:08 PM The weather this morning was fantastic a crisp frost covering with a blue, blue sky. Now its clouded over with what could almost be snow clouds....its certainly cold enough.

Bet you fancy Stuart don't you.....
I don't think we are forcast snow, but then we never get snow :(
All we ever get is rain and more rain :ranting:
It's snowing in West Brom at the moment which is only about 70 miles away. I know this as its on the telly, ManCity are playing there.

Whats his Surname...I had a saucey dream about him quite a few years ago and I always watch him now with a smirk.
There has been a big thing recently about the news being based in Norwich.. So Look East have set up another satelite site in Milton Keynes (10 minutes away) . You will start to understand what its like to get 'local' news from another planet.
I in no way mean to offend you Andrea, you do understand that don't you.
Andrea 22-01-2005, 06:24 PM Cat you have totally offended me, where is that list where I can strike you off my screen:wink2:
No, I do know what you mean cause the news is alot of reports from round this area. That was why I was surprised in the first place you got look east.
Cat you have totally offended me, where is that list where I can strike you off my screen:wink2:

You were suprised....put yourself in our situation.....
"And your local news today ......the sheep population has increased over the last year a local farmer (Farmer...whats one of them) reported...and the sea is very choppy...SEA...BLOODY SEA...we are as middle England as you can get...what the hell do we need to know about the sea for??
Sorry again Andrea...you are having to buffer my wrath....
Andrea 22-01-2005, 06:30 PM You've not been in the best of moods today have you Cat.
Here have a hug:hug:
You've not been in the best of moods today have you Cat.
Here have a hug:hug:
Thanks for the hug....but what makes you think I've not been in a good mood then :ranting:
Andrea 22-01-2005, 06:40 PM I'm scared now:unsure:
I'm scared now:unsure:
Don't be scared...you've got loads of fields you can run away and hide in.
I've seen them all on the map.
Andrea 23-01-2005, 07:17 AM A bit chilly for us here this morning, but now snow............yet.
It's supposed to be coming tonight.
Lovely bright sunny day with blue skys aplomb. BUT very chilly indeed.
BBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
We have the same weather here Cat and it is very, very cold...
Andrea 23-01-2005, 03:50 PM It is now wild outside, the wind is howling, rain and a little bit of sleet mixed in.
Hope fully a bit of snow to come later.
Its been bitterly cold here today, but the sun has been shining and blue skies.....we even sat ourside and had a cream tea on Torquay Marina this afternoon, it was beaut!
We had a light fall on Saturday evening that has remained, and it has been snowing off and on today - with no great consequences, it is almost too cold to snow.
Actually this reminds me, Mr F and I were having a discussion about snow, as you do, and he reckons that in actual fact, that it can be too cold to snow?? But I said that in places like Siberia and the North Pole and Norway for example - it is regularly -10 or below and it snows. Does anyone know the truth behind this saying??
I don't know about being too cold to snow or not, but it is absolutely freezing here on the South Coast and I'm sure if anything fell out the sky today it would be either snow or icicles!
As the sun is out and we have clear blue skies at the moment I doubt there is any likelyhood of snow :(
Andrea - did you get your snow, by any chance?
Eternity 24-01-2005, 01:06 PM Snow settled here in the North East in the early hours today, and still lots of snow flurries - some very big flakes too! Not settling now, hope it keeps that way!
Andrea 24-01-2005, 01:07 PM No snow to speak of really.
At the moment it is blustery cold, and we get periods of sunshine and then it clouds over, goes really dark and we get a hail/snow shower for about 5 minutes, then back to the sunshine again.
I've been watching a radar on a website, and it shows where and when the showers are coming in, so I think its going to be like this all day.
But unfortunately no snowman making for the kids:sad:
We have just had a snow shower
It snowed for about 3 minutes but didn't lay at all, if I didn't see it for myself and I had just seen the wet pavements, I would have just thought it had been raining.
It is cold and dry this morning here on the South Coast, I have just stuck my nose outside and it was nearly frozen off
Bonsai 17-02-2005, 01:15 PM Its freezing in Suffolk at the moment, with the weather peeps saying that we could be in for 'substantial snow' over the weekend and into next week.
Whats it like where you are ?
Same here Bonnie - it is freezing http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/1.gif
They are forcasting that Sussex may get it's first real snowfall since 1997! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/snow.gif
For once I beleive there is a North/South divide - it is not boiling here or even warm, but the sun is shining, Mr F is out washing the cars, the boys are playing in the gardens on their bikes, the chickens basking, the doves nesting, the ducks quacking and the dogs chewing bones from the butcher who has just called with my weekly order - and it is quite lovely outside.
Tigereye 17-02-2005, 03:04 PM Kinda springlike here - not exactly whip off your jumper and expose yourself warmth - but it's most pleasant and the birdies are a-singing..........
The weather has been really nice up here the past week. Very sunny and cold!
Andrea 17-02-2005, 08:57 PM Not too bad here, bit chilly willy but ok.
Yeh, the weather for next week looks interesting.
Looks like the easterly winds might be coming in, and for us lot in (especially for Cat) East Anglia :ninja: we could have some snow http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_4_4v.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYAXGB)
Andrea 19-02-2005, 12:02 PM Wooooooooo, its snowing http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/28/28_4_3.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYAXGB)
kimmy 19-02-2005, 03:23 PM Been cold but sunny all day. Started to snow half an hour ago but has stopped now. The clouds look full of it though .............. forcast it heavy here in North Notts within the next ew days!
If you squint carefully, you can just see teeney tiney snow flakes here in the wilds of Bedfordshire.
COME ON MY SON .....AVE IT LARGE!
tonee 21-02-2005, 07:23 AM Its snowing here. Dont feel like it as I am about to walk to work!
Bella 21-02-2005, 07:33 AM We have awoken to snow too, it is hardly surprising really as it has been absolutely freezing here over the weekend!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEE
We are snowed in - hoooooraaaaaah, no school, just loads and loads and loads of snow ........ hoooooorrrrrrraaaaaaaaah.
It is like a winter wonderland outside, everysingle teeny weeny twig has a good covering of snow on it - ther are no cars on the roads [just the odd tractor ... grumble grumble].
I am just so happy!! :kid: :w00t:
Fee For All 21-02-2005, 08:11 AM Blue skies and sun here, but damned nippy...glad I'm working at home today:)
Tigereye 21-02-2005, 08:57 AM Snowing here too - unfortunately I only live a few mins away from the office so no excuse for a lie-in / day off
Critique 21-02-2005, 09:15 AM We were told there was a 90% chance of snow (I think that's what Mr. C said to my back when he was watching the news last night anyway - lol) here on the South Coast. We got zilch. Just cold. The child in me is disappointed - the pensioner me says "thank heaven" hahaha.
The delight that you experience with snow is in inverse proportion to your age
Read that somewhere - I guess it's true - lol
No snow here either  It's just not fair
floopy 21-02-2005, 10:39 AM I want snow too, but we never ever get any.
It's bright and sunny here.
boo
Bella 21-02-2005, 10:40 AM It is snowing by the bucketload here, just as we were getting ready to go out!
floopy 21-02-2005, 10:42 AM that's so unfair.
I have a baby here with a snowsuit, just itching to be used, and no snow.
Andrea 21-02-2005, 12:18 PM No snow here......yet.
I'm hopeful we will get some. We've been having hail showers on and off all morning.
And the winds are going to change to easterlies bringing in some very cold air.
So anytime over the next few days, there should be some snow.
Bonsai 21-02-2005, 01:14 PM The snow was really bad this morning, but by lunchtime it had thawed. Now its coming down again though, and at the rate its coming, we will be snowed into our office all night
floopy 21-02-2005, 02:01 PM Just got back from Tescos accompanied by a bright warm sun and a hail shower :w00t:
We have sun again  and still NO snow :ranting:

Ours is real http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/snow.gif but it is only laying on the grass not the pavements at the moment...
The boys are out playing so they will come home soaked
Fee For All 21-02-2005, 04:31 PM it's snowing here too
Well that was very short lived
It just looks like someone has dropped a bag of flour
I expect that will be our lot for this year!
Oh I wish you could all see 'See You Jimmy Frost' - he is my 5' 9" tall snowman [I know cos he is 2" taller than me], complete with blue scarf, 'see you Jimmy' hat [as modelled by Tiddles in Edinburgh, humonguous twig arms and gravel features - he is sitting on one of my front lawns looking resplendent and proud.
It has snowed near enough all day and we have about 6 - 7 inches - it is bloody marvellous!!! I cannot tell you how excited I am.
Even when tiddles and I have played out today is now all covered over with fresh falls - it is truely tremendous.
tonee 21-02-2005, 04:50 PM Its stopped snowing but for some weird reason I wore a shirt and poncho to work (I walk). So I am freezing. It is very cold. So much so that the cat has protested loudly about even going outside for a few mins. I am going to come back in the next life as a cat (I know, wrong thread).

I had to LOL at this, and then wondered what went through your head as you dressed, and then stepped outside your door and then continued to walk to work - toneeeeeeeee - IT WAS SNOWING - AND SNOW IS FREEZING!!!
I am a hardy soul, and I had numerous layers and two hats on, plus wellies [not on my head you understand?] - I could only manage about 45 mins outside before becoming a frozen frosty knickers!

Im Scottish and hardy and that is what goes through my mind but wearing a poncho over a shirt did seem, on reflection, slightly foolhardy. What's new eh?
Sounds like you're making the best of the weather Flip. You've got hills nearby haven't you - do you have a tobaggan?
We had a little snow today, but it didn't settle.
One snowman says to the other snowman, "do you smell carrots?"
I'll ge me coat.
Coastie 21-02-2005, 06:41 PM Not a single flake......I had blue skies and sunshine over my home all day today!

I so don't want to harp - but I am so going to ....
...... it is just blisteringly blizzardy out there, it is coming down so fast, the wind is high, so we are expecting drifts, the thickness just grows and grows - Mr F has just come in from letting the dogs out for their night time wee's and he reckons we have 6 - 7 inches - oh bliss, oh joy, oh wonderouness.
Mr 'See You Jimmy Frost' our snowman, has now got fatter cheeks and his hat which was a jolly red tartan is now snow white, he is such a smiley happy chappy.
Dolores 21-02-2005, 08:11 PM did the dogs write their signature in the snow flip!
reminds me of Kooky's signature (think it's changed now, might not even be Kooky's!!)
"tip: don't eat yellow snow!"

No but Mr See You Jimmy Frost, the snowman, has yellow turnips on his trousers!!! [you do realise that he doesn't really have trousers on? - no it is sort of a body sock made of snow - but anyway the botton is yellow] Actually it is rather fetching!!
Coastie 21-02-2005, 08:37 PM well yes until I was cyling home .... at about 5.15 then we had a small blizzard!

Ooooo that must have been a single cloud stalking you Dol....I didn't have a single flake all day!
Well I'm not having anything to do with the weather any more, it's all lies I tell you..LIES.
Snow my ****.
When I set off to work this morning it was completely green and snow free, I didn't even bother to take a hat. Fifteen minutes into my journey I hit traffic jams becasue the snow was quite thick, by the time I got to work It was coming down quite heavy and the roads were awful. It took some people who live just a few miles out of town nearly an hour to get in.
Still no snow where I live, but i think I'll go prepared tomorrow just in case.
The road into work was really icy and some wally though it woiuld be really great to skid all over the road (on purpose) despite the fact that I was heading straight for him. nutter! :glare:
It's snowing here again! Quite heavily actually... I expect the trains will be cancelled as Scotrail seem incapable of running their trains even when there is a faint breeze :glare:
I can't remember the last time we had this much snow!
Andrea 21-02-2005, 10:58 PM It is http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies-Weather/snow.gif here now :D
I live in the east of england, the area all the weather people are saying is the most at risk for snow, and what do I find, no snow here, but snow on the South coast.........how did that happen:ohmy:
Well, I must admit we have had a little flurry, but thats about it.
Well I'm not having anything to do with the weather any more, it's all lies I tell you..LIES.
Snow my ****.
I agree with you here Cat.
Feel free to steal my snow ladies. I'm bored with it now :glare:
Coastie 22-02-2005, 04:56 AM It's snowing.....very...very lightly mind but its definately snowing!
YAY!
tonee 22-02-2005, 05:26 AM Had a small bout of hailstones. Cat got caught and was not amused.
Coastie 22-02-2005, 06:15 AM Snow stopped 10mins after it started..... :pooh:
Coastie 22-02-2005, 06:26 AM Oooo ooo it's snowing again! :w00t:
Well the sun is out and the snow (the little bit we had) has all gone
floopy 22-02-2005, 11:19 AM It snowed a minute ago, but it's gone again now :mad2:
Tigereye 22-02-2005, 11:19 AM ours is gone too - but it is a lovely, if cold, day....................
Andrea 22-02-2005, 11:51 AM Currently it is a sunny sky up here, but every now and then it goes all cloudy.
I was shopping earlier and went into a shop all sunny outside, when I came out it was blizzard conditions, wind and snow everywhere.
So I think its going to be like that all day, it's not settling though.
But apparently the worst of the snow is yet to come, YAY.
tonee 06-03-2005, 10:45 AM Weather report: strong sunshine, very bright and clear, probably a bit nippy but definitely by the sea, cappuccino in hand day.
Sunny and dry but bloody freezing
Islandman 06-03-2005, 07:47 PM So we are having our first sign that Spring is actually coming....it is beautiful and sunny outside today...and people are outside all over campus enjoying the nice weather. I love how everything seems to come back to life when Spring weather comes.
floopy 06-03-2005, 07:50 PM me too, the Canada geese are coming home, the mornings are lighter, soon daffodils will be starting to rouse.
And the foxes are still spreading my rubbish all over the back garden.
Bonsai 07-03-2005, 08:45 AM It was beautiful and sunny in Suffolk 1st thing this morning, but now its gone dull again ... but at least its dry.
On Friday the snow was sooooooooooooo bad, we got sent home at lunchtime as they were scared we wouldnt be able to get home :p What a result :wink_kiss
