Heard the new Kate Bush single? Do you think it's worth the wait? Were you a fan? Are you now? Has she gone off the boil? Or is this a magnificent comeback?

I hate Kate Bush.

It's nothing personal per se, just her voice makes my hair stand on end and not in a good way. So I haven't heard her new single as I just turn the radio off when i hear her name mentioned.

I have not heard Kate's new single is it any good? I like her but am not a great fan, i always loved that song she recorded back in the 70's? , "Withering Heights" her vocals on that song were outstanding.

I wonder if she still sports the long hair?

I was always a fan of Kate's. I think she was an amazing and original talent ... havne't heard any new stuff so don't know if she still qualifies as amazing and original!

Thing is these days being original and talented is no measure of success ... I mean look at anyone in the X-factor ... they will get a number one out of it (most likely) a record deal and an album in the charts with a tour of the UK ... and if they have one iota of real talent or originality I will eat my keyboard!

OK, I've heard it a few times (Radio 2 have been milking it because they got the world exclusive first time play...)

It's vintage Bush really, lots of strange Peter Gabriel inspired weird percussion at the top..followed by a slow build to a thudding, all singing, all dancing, all wailing climax.

It grows on you big time, but at the same time you feel you are listening to a track from one of her old albums...

Here's the lyrics if you are interested...

The King Of The Mountain
Lyrics by Kate Bush.

Could you see the aisles of women?
Could you see them screaming and weeping?
Could you see the storm rising?
Could you see the guy who was driving?
Could you climb higher and higher?
Could you climb right over the top?
Why does a multi-millionaire
Fill up his home with priceless junk?

The wind is whistling
The wind is whistling
Through the house

Elvis are you out there somewhere
Looking like a happy man?
In the snow with Rosebud
And king of the mountain

Another Hollywood waitress
Is telling us she´s having your baby
And there´s a rumour that you´re on ice
And you will rise again someday
And that there´s a photograph
Where you´re dancing on your grave

The wind is whistling
The wind is whistling
Through the house

Elvis are you out there somewhere
Looking like a happy man?
In the snow with Rosebud
And king of the mountain

The wind it blows
The wind it blows the door closed...

I thought you sang that beautifully Normal, although I think you had a bit of trouble with some of the high notes in the chorus ...but I like you and I'm going to put you through to the next round of the X-factor ... you go boy, you're on Sharon's team!

I used to like her stuff years ago, but i really don't think there is the fan base today to make this single or the double album a hit.
At 47 she is leaving it late to capture a new audience.

I don't think the album cover (drawn by her 7 year old son) is a classic either.
