What are your favourite shows that arent around any more ? If they came back now, do you think you would still enjoy them - or have your tastes moved on ?

The main show i miss is Ally McBeal. I adored this show, as did Mr.B and i think we watched every single episode. I have added the 'box set' to my Xmas list this year

Shows I would like to see repeated:

The 'A' Team!

Tales of the Gold Monkey (many will not remember this tale of Pilot Jake Cutter and his clever little dog Jack...ooo I was so in love with Jake when I was seven! It's no wonder no man has managed to satisfy me since)

I did watch a few repeats of Blake 7 when it made a come back a few years ago - I ha dloved it as a kid but found it really naff now I'm older!

I'm hoping that now there is a magazine collection thingy for it there will be no more repeats of 'Dads Army'! For as long as I have lived this has been on TV :bored:

Bring back 'The Wombles' is my final plea in this thread!

Can anyone else remember Dangermouse. God i loved Dangermouse and Penfold.

"Will Dangermouse save the planet - or will we all be watching a black screen tomorrow"

David Jason was an inspired choice to do the voice over.

I just loved the Sweeny and was a big fan of John Thaw. If you watch it now though it just seems SO dated, seems so odd to see someone going to a phone box, no mobiles in those days and the drinking and smoking and blatant sexism that just seems a bit bizarre now.

I loved Dangermouse Bonnie

One of my favourites was 'The Tomorrow People' it was about British teens who have special powers. They could communicate to each other using telepathy. They could also transport themselves ("Jaunting") with the help of Tim their talking computer.

Memories .... can be beautiful da da :p

There are a lot of 'old' shows which i agree are really dated now when you see them, but still great.

I still love seeing 'The Good Life' and dream of being able to jack it all in and live off the land.

Oh, and 'Ever Decreasing Circles' with Harold and Hilda and their matching jumpers.

And can anyone remember the kids programme called 'Dogtanian' or something like that. He was trying to be a musketeer and the show ran and ran and ran. It got quite boring near the end as it went on for years !!!!! I thought it funny when he ran .... the dubbing made it sound like he was having an orgasm

Tales of the Gold Monkey

He was lovely. Stephen Somethingorother. He had a great smile and gorgeous dimples. Quite George Peppard-ish. I think I've seen him in something quite recently and he hasn't aged well, unforch.

Alias Smith and Jones. Wouldn't date because it was a western. Pete Duel - more lovely dimples.

A program called The Quest, with Kurt Russell and Tim Matheson. I loved Tim Matheson (couldn't stand Kurt Russell and still can't). It was set in western times, too, about two brothers' quest to find their sister Patricia. :)

Tim Matheson was also in National Lampoon's Animal House and he was my teen love.

There was a mini series Rich Man Poor Man, with Nick Nolte and Peter Strauss. There was a speight of them, but that one really sticks in my mind. I loved it.

It was the 'Four Muskerhounds' Bonnie!

One for all and all for one
Muskerhounds are allways ready
One for all and all for one
Helping everybody
One for all and all for one
'Kids are feeling corny' (always thought they sung this)
If you have a problem chum
Think how it could be

tra la la la la la
The muskerhounds are ready
tra la la la la la

Or something like that anyway!

Did you used to watch the 'Ewoks', 'Around the world in 80 days' and 'City's of Gold' aswell?...I still remember all the words to those theme tunes pretty much!

"Eight days around the world
We'll find a crock of gold
That's waiting at the rainbow's end............"

Me 'n Mr P used to love that. We used to watch it together, pre-kids. Who was the little bouncy thing that didn't speak?

Just a point of note before you think I'm mad...

The programe over here was known as:

Tales of the Golden Monkey

for some reason though it was known as

Tales of the Gold Monkey

in the states where it was made so I have had to search under that name and thought you'd all understand!

Only if they looked under the clock during afternoon playtime as we would all be stood there having gotten into mischeif earlier in the day....it was 'The Naughty Gang' later to evolve into 'The Adventure Gang'...

So do ya wanna be in my gang?

This is how Tim Matheson looked in The Quest. Is he not beautiful?

I was in love with a butcher near my school, called Kevin. Looked just like this. Pretty much set my taste for the rest of my life. Dark hair, blue or brown, but preferably green eyes. Used to quite like a tash, too, but not any more.

The programme(s) I miss most, and would love to see return are "Yes Minister" and "Yes Prime Minister" from the early 80's. It was a really first-class political satire and Nigel Hawthorne was totally superb in it. I loved it!

And in fact, I still do. I saw a re-run of one of the episodes a couple of years back when Nigel Hawthorne died and the programme is still really funny. I had thought that it might seem a bit dated - but its as fresh and relevant as if it were made this year!

Now don't larf (I bet you will though) but my fave TV prog was David Carradine as Kung Fu  He was so quiet and gentle and had a lovely smile but boy ya didn't mess with him :) It definitely wasn't David Carradine that I had a crush on though, it was the character he played Kwai Chan Caine.

Oh go on - you can larf if ya like :bag:
