Some crazy woman hit her neighbor in the head w/ a baseball bat and drove her 15 miles into the country and tried to cut her fetus out w/ a razor knife. Her plans were to leave the woman for dead and claim the child as her own. Luckily a teenager on an ATV was out riding and came along. He calmly told the the woman cutting he was just checking something and she just waved him on at which time he hightailed it to his dad who called the authorities. They got there and the woman was saved and taken to the hospital where the baby (a boy) was delivered and she is doing fine other than a concussion. "Nurse Ratchett" is in police custody w/o bail on several SERIOUS charges. :angry:

I've read a few stories concerning this type of thing in America. Not sure if it's ever happened here but it sure is a really horrible thing to do to someone.

I think maybe the forefathers brought some kind of crazy strain of CRAZY over on the Mayflower and it has mutated as the country has grown!!! That's just my 'scientific theory'. :shocking:

Yes I have heard of this kind of thing before. The woman is obviously unwell. How absolutely awful for the mother and child - what a trauma to undergo.

I have read about this kind of thing, there is a lot of it going on! it's getting more common.Are these people so desperate for a baby that much, that they would kill another human being to get one? Ewwww it's sick, how could people do that?

There have been 4 reported cases in total of this in the US, and one in Columbia. It does apear from a check that the thefts are occuring through women who are in fragile relationships, but cannot (for one reason or another) have their own child.

Just last year (I think) some lady out West kidnapped and killed a girl and delivered her baby and passed it off as her own for several days b/4 they got her. She faked being pregnant and her hubby was none the wiser and she said she gave birth at home and he did not question her until they posted the info about the dead girl and her missing baby. That woman is up on all kind of charges and tried to plead mental instability but I think it was not accepted and she will proceed to trial. Another lady was just on a morning show here back at the first of the year from NYC. She had a fire at her house about 7 years ago and her husbands cousin was there and the firemen told her her 10 day old baby perished in the fire. Then late last year she was at a birthday party and saw her husband's cousin again (since the fire 6-7 yrs ago) and she had a little girl she said was hers. The woman said the little girl looked just like her other children so she got a hair sample, telling the little girl she had gum in her hair and someone helped her get DNA testing and it was her child they said had died!!!! The cousin got quite a few years and the mom got back custody but it has been a hard road for mom and daughter.

I think if you're going to steal a baby from a womb you have to do it right, there's no point doing it by a roadside, best to do it somewhere private eg a graveyard at midnight, also it might be better to steal the baby and the womb together - might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb etc.
