Saw a smart new Toyota one on the Shopping Channel and it went down to £68. I just mentioned to Mr C that I thought it was time I had a new one and he said "go for it" so I did :) It arrived this morning and it's all new and white and shiny and has lots of interesting stitches that you can do at the turn of a dial. And joy of joys, you can slide a bit off and have a "sleeve arm". It is lighter than my old one too. I'm past the stage of dressmaking these days, but I do use my old machine for things like turning up and repairs (mostly to grandson's trousers cos he is constantly splitting the **se out of them) but usually have to wait for someone to lump it onto the table for me. You never know, I might even be inspired to make something if I can tear myself away from the computer long enough  It's Mr C's birthday on Friday - looks like I will have to buy him another aeroplane seeing as I've had a pressie for nothing  mazwad 18-10-2005, 03:51 PM just sorting out a pile of sewing to go round to Crits ils 18-10-2005, 04:36 PM DYJLIW - it is only 3 days until you go to Dublin!
