I think he said it so as to 'give' Joe something in the spirit of friendship. Psychologist have studied friendship and it always features 'disclosures' from each party, usually in turn. In telling Joe this (whether it was true or not) he was attempting to bring him closer in friendship terms.

He's been around the royals for most of his life, so imagine the odd snippet of info is going to slip out now and again. I imagine his intention is to keep it zipped so that when he leaves the public have a better impression of him. But we'll see.

On Steve Wright this afternoon they were saying that a report somewhere (not sure where) was saying that all the palace staff were voting to get Burrell to do the trials.

I know Im a bit late in the day to comment, but when PB said that about Queenie, I did think, well she IS human like the rest of us - I bet that crown weighs a TON!!! and the mental pic I had was a scream I promise you!!!

If anything it endeared the Queen to me, and like you Scoobs, would have found it funnier if she had been having a fag and perhaps a glass of stout at the same time!!!!!

It also prompted me to buy the book The Queen and I by Sue Townsend, which I have just read again with relish....and much amusement!

Oh c'mon in Mafia Princess's defence Paul has a buffness that most chaps could never hope to achieve. If asked to rub deep heat into his aching muscles would I refuse? Of course I wouldn't.

Coupled with that he does appear to be a decent guy, if you can discount the Diana issue and base it purely on his performance on IAC.

I would have thought that the main obstacle for Mafia Princess and Paul's female admirers, should he stray from his family (which I don't think he would as that appears to be his mainstay in life), would be the competition from males. :)

Paul displayed a certain campness in his manner, and in his physical deportment. I don't for one moment think he is gay, but the way he walks needs attention as he minces along like a stageshow queen.

Nah, I cant see that either - I find him smarmy and creepy and totally false - bit like Peter Andre - he doesnt come across as sincere IMO.....trys too hard!
