Well so far, he seems a very nice guy. Not up his own backside in the least and was genuinely upset when he saw Elaine collapse twice. Bless.

He could win this.

I like him too so far - it's going to be so interesting to see how our opinions change in the next couple of weeks :)

He is okay only at the moment, i need to see some more of his humour come out yet to warm to him.
Is it me or does he always look as if he had a real heavy night on the tiles all the time?

Its strange how the two soap actors are exactly like their characters - Rickeee and Tricia. Cant comment about Annalise as I never watched her in Neighbours.

He seems normal enough so far.
I don't know his history and have never read anything about his past life and 'goings on'...he could be a mass murderer for all I know, but in the jungle he seems nice enough. No sides to him...what you see is what you get.
smiles..and stuff...

He has always had bags under his eyes, even at his young age, but now they are soooo much worse because the poor sod hasnt slept

Love his little Eastenders anecdotes that we keep hearing, ie the fact that in order to stop the cast nicking the Mars Bars from the newsagents on the Square, the production team injected them with Germolene ! Which Sid found out to his cost :w00t:

He is a pleasant chap but not very bright, as some have said. Id much rather have him in the camp than the terminally thick Antony Costa.

I think Sid deserves to win this.

His good humour during his incredibly tiring Treasure Chest Challenge had to be admired.

The poor guy was covered in mud, completely knackered but still had a grin on his face.

Its been seven days in now, plenty of time for some people's masks to slip alarmingly (and some have), but Sid remains good humoured, fair, kind, amusing and willing to muck in.

I hope he gets a bushtucker trial so he can come to the fore a bit though.

Dense but likeable, thankfully lacking that soap star luvviness, a down to earth type who deserves to be in with a chance at the end.

Agree with everyone, I really, really like Sid Owen. He is dead-nice guy, he is not what I expected at all.

I would like either him or Carol to win.

Do you think last night when him was between him & Jilly, that he actually had the most votes and that it is just a tatic being used by the producers to make it look like the ones that would seem popular are not. The previous night we had David Dickinson and have to say I would have been surprised if he was in the bottom two.

Critique

I can't believe that Sid was in the bottom 2 of the voting. He's really popular with the other celebs and the viewers I would have thought, judging by comments on the show and the forums.

I wondered if it was just a ploy to stop any of them resting on their laurels so to speak.

I like Sid very much too. I think he is a chirpy chappie, and i think he will earn himself a legion of new fans from doing this show.

Sid and Carol's treasure chest challenge was great tonight. He showed he can converse with anyone and was relaxed and chirpy (can you imagine the cringemaking convo if it had been Antony? :ninja: )

He seems a thoroughly nice young man, relaxed, easy going, not up his own backside with self importance and has a quick sense of humour.

And boy, didnt he relish those sausage, chips and egg in the jungle with Carol lol.....

Bella

I am really loving Sid Owen, before he went into the jungle I thought he was a washed-up ex-Soapstar who was a waste of space but he is a great guy. And him & Carol just got on brilliant, leagues apart but what a team. I suppose that says a lot for Carol too considering her upbringing but I think she would just muzzle on down anywhere!

I really hope that these two are the final two but then there will be a dilemma as to who I would want to win as I think they are both fab!

I really like Sid...my heart went out to him last nite when he said he was not looking forward to Christmas as it was really only for families, and he said someting else which i did'tn catch, about not having parents..only brothers and they were all married with kids n' stuff.
But he just looked sooooooo sad.And not in a 'playing to the camera's' kind of way.
He is giving a very good account of himself in the camp.
AND he can sing....that blue moon was lovely!

I may be wrong but I think his constant pee-taking of Bobby Balls accent was a little wearing last night?

True, Sid was too far away (he was up on the leader's platform), to realise that Bobby Ball was starting to get offended, but Jeeeeez there is having a joke and poking fun at someones accent and there is flogging the joke to death until our ears are bleeding with the unfunniness of it all, isnt there?

For the first (and possibly only time), Sid made himself look a prat last night because he came across as irritating. Its fun to push someones buttons sometimes but you have to know when to stop and Sid didnt.

Sid's take off of Bobby. I thought that bit was one of the highlights of the show. So funny I did laugh out loud. I didn't feel sorry for Bobby at all. He has been rude and grumpy a lot of the time and he was only really wound up cos he had to do the cooking and didn't have a clue. He made rude comments about the food that others served up so I'm glad he got some p-taking back.

Have to say that Sid hasnt really put a foot wrong has he?

That Treasure Chest trial where he grinned and laughed his head off while being yanked back along mud on an elastic bungee rope will go down in Im a Celeb history Im sure.

Can u imagine if Antony had done that task? Two goes on the bungee elastic and he would have started getting embarrassed, self conscious and annoyed, three goes and the tantrums would have started. There would have been no fourth attempt as the self confessed "energetic" Antony wouldnt have bothered.

I agree Pandora Sid has been my favourite from the start. He has maintained his sense of humour unlike Anthony who has shown himself to be petulant and whiney.

Bella

I think the fact that he took on the gruesome task when none of the others wanted to do it, might just win him more votes! I do hope so cos that task was 'orrible!

He deserves to win and as much as I like C Thatch I would like to see Sid win for the mere fact that I would like him to do well out of this. C Thatch will go back to her normal life as a journalist where Sid by his own admission hasn't really worked since leaving Eastenders. I would love to see his profile raised as he is just a dead nice guy who really deserves a break.

Sid to Win!!

I agree Rob about them repeating the trial.
Didn't they say before the program started that it was going to be much tougher this year.
It's been pretty much the same, hasn't it?

Ive got a funny feeling it may be something to do with the fact that it was (in Ant's words in the Daily Mirror) a bit of a let down when Kimberley attempted it.

I must say that Sid had me on the edge of my seat last night. He was scared but utterly determined. He was being bitten by ants, crawled on by all sorts of vile things and the poor sod was practically bricking it when he got to the bit where it was pitch black and he was feeling for the stars.
The fact that he got the last star with just 2 seconds to go was terrific.

He really is a thoroughly nice bloke and unlike one or two others in the camp, keen to do his best and have a go.

I read they were going to do a bunge jump trial but decided against it for safety reasons after Kimberleys accident. So that is why one of the trials were repeated! Again not sure how true that is though, as it was in one of the tabloids!

Hmmmmmm, Ive gone off Sid a bit after reading this on the ITV website today....

You may have noticed – Ant certainly did – that for the first time in many a week, Carol’s characteristic “that’s right” was missing from the quartet’s morning melody. And there was a good reason for that.
During their early rehearsals of Hit The Road Jack, Carol was delivering her trademark line with aplomb. As the song grew to a crescendo, she would rise to her feet, wiggle her finger and cry her line high into the jungle canopy.
But Sid wasn’t happy.
In fact, Sid was of the opinion that the delivery of that line was overshadowing the performance of the remaining contestants. And so he suggested that Carol simply join in with the rest of the song.
The Thatch was clearly disappointed. There would be no finger waving, no line delivery with aplomb. And a certain light (heartedness) seemed to have been doused in camp.

FFS, it was a bit of fun wasnt it? How could someone saying two words "overshadow" anyone .... :ranting:

Ha Ha..if that was true about sid putting the lid on carole's woeful singing/talking/EVERYTHING voice...he has gone up so much in my estimation.
I found that part of the show..when she got up and did her pathetic party piece very cringeworth in a grown woman. She is NOT four years old.
I found the 'thats wite' contribution particularly sick-making.

Well, whoever put it there obviously had a wad of money on C Thatch to win, considering she was sitting at 40-1 at the begining of the programme, it would have been a nice little earner even if you just put on a tenner!

I did notice though that there was no singing in the camp last night, but you're right Mink I just can't see Sid causing a fuss about that, and you would have thought that if he did that it would have been shown....... I still hope that he does well out of this.
