View Full Version : What Are You Doing This Weekend?
This weekend I am going to Jersey on a girly weekend and I can't wait http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/smilies/biggrin.gifhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/smilies/excited.gif http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/smilies/cheerleader2.gif
ooh that sounds good, never been to Jersey.
On saturday we are going to London to stay with husbands, brothers family for a big bonfire party. It will be the first time I have seen their new 6 bedroomed, 4 bathroomed house. I will try not to be jealous, I will. Staying the night.
Quite looking forward to it.
I've never been to Jersey before either http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/smilies/cool2.gif
Bella 01-11-2004, 11:06 AM I have never been to Jersey but I knew a guy who worked a 6 month secondment there and loved it! I do quite fancy going there one day.
This weekend, I am off to see.............wait for it................the one, the only...........MR DARREN DAY!!!!!!! Arrrghhhhh, I hear you shouting, why, I hear you asking..........
But he is playing the role of Joseph in Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat. Katie just loves this musical and has the CD, and is always singing the songs. When I booked the tickets, I had no idea it was the man himself who was playing Joseph. Still, it should be really good.
And more importantly, it is Mr B's birthday on Friday night and this will be our first night out together(without the girls) since Abbie was born almost 2 years ago! Scary or what! We have just started a baby-sitting circle, so hopefully we should have a better social life now!
Andrea 01-11-2004, 11:42 AM [QUOTE=ilovesurvivor]This weekend I am going to Jersey on a girly weekend and I can't wait
Have a great time ils :)
friday night taking the kids to the firework display that the friends of the school arrange every year. The kids usually watch about 5 minutes of fireworks abd then just run around thefield
Well its Field Day on Friday (you know, where all the dental students from Glasgow, Dundee and Newcastle meet up in one of the cities for a day of games, drunkeness and debauchery (just kidding about that last one...)
This year its in Newcastle so Flip, I apologise in advance for what will happen to your lovely city!
floopy 01-11-2004, 08:21 PM it's the weekend before my birthday, so i shall be taking my husband shopping :D
Marmoset 02-11-2004, 12:53 AM Well I can't wait for Saturday as it the annual Nelsonica convention (for fans of Bill Nelson and Be Bop Deluxe).
There will be people there from the USA, Norway, and Europe, its always a great coming together, sort of like those 60's 'happenings'... and it will be a great day as always..good news for me is that its held just a few miles down the road! I'm just soooo excited!
Highlight of my year, even tho Bill and the band have just finished a GB tour, I missed two gigs because I had to work away, but I will be back in force on Saturday, armed with my trusty G5, and dangerous! I was rather touched that the band signed a programe for me at the Edinburgh gig and said they missed me! (I also missed the chance of meeting Morph and the S.O. Edinburgh contingent too!) :(
Oh well, there's always a next time!

karenh 02-11-2004, 06:32 PM This weekend I am going shopping on Saturday to buy a dress for a black tie function next week. I am dreading it :(
I quite like shopping if I don't have anything in particular to buy cos I always manage to see loads of stuff I like if I'm just browsing. But if I'm looking for something in particular I can never find it! So, I just know I'm gonna be searching all day and end up spending a fortune on a "desperation" dress e.g. not a perfect dress, but a "better-than-nothing" dress.
Thing is, I'm hoping this dress will see me through several ocassions coming up. The function next week, a client function in December and my mother-in-law's 70th at the end of this month. They are all quite different events and I want to find something that will look good at all of them. Could be a tallorder.
Wish me luck guys!
ILS - have a great time in Jersey. I was there a few weekends back and we had a great time! You should love it!

Thanks Karen - I'm sure I will, as I have always wanted to go there......

Karen - book yourself a personal shopper/fashion advisor! You would be amazed at what they get you to wear, plus you just sit while they go "shopping" for you! Tell them exaclty what you want it for and I am sure they will come up trumps for you! See my thread on Personal Shoppers, I would definitely do it again.
karenh 03-11-2004, 09:49 AM Bella - that is a brilliant idea!
I've read your thread on personal shoppers now, and am going to book myself an appointment with one at John Lewis in Kingston. I really need the help of an expert, and this sound like just the ticket.
Thanks! You're a genius!
Bonsai 04-11-2004, 01:22 PM I havent got much happening this weekend. Im having my highlights done on Saturday at 10am, and that takes about 3 hrs.
Then in the afternoon i have a fun packed trip to PC World and the pet shop.
On Sunday i aim to do very little, maybe wash my car and have a trip out somewhere for lunch.
Groucho 04-11-2004, 01:37 PM I think I might watch a few "big screen" DVDs.
Bella 04-11-2004, 03:03 PM Bella - that is a brilliant idea!

Oh good for you, Karen. You must let us know how it turns out! :D
I don't think I am going to have time to draw breath on Saturday. I am helping out at the NCT nappy stall on Saturday morning, going to see Joseph and his amazing technicolour dreamcoat (as previously mentioned) and we have been invited to a Pot Luck Supper come Firework Party on Saturday evening!
Scooby 04-11-2004, 09:35 PM I just spent the last hour with the police, because four bottles of jolly expensive champagne were nicked from the shop. I was the worst witness ever, and I officially have the poorest memory ever. The only thing I could remember was that one of them had a nose ring. Winner!
cheerio!
Andrea 04-11-2004, 09:47 PM Ooh Floopy, have you drunk your bubbly yet:eek:
Scooby 04-11-2004, 11:01 PM I have just realised that my above post is in the totally wrong thread.
Such is life.
cheerio!
I didn't notice scooby, don't let it ruin your weekend tho.
This weekend my daughter is visiting http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies%20-%20Party/party-smiley-020.gif http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies%20-%20Party/woohoo.gif
Bella 08-11-2004, 03:13 PM Oh, I bet you are excited ILS!! Are you just going to chill out with her or do something special?
We went to Joseph at the weekend, well Katie & I did and *shock* *horror* our show had the understudy playing Joseph who was just brilliant! However, my friend was at the later show where Darren Day donned the multi-coloured coat and she said he was totally and utterly in love with himself...........no surprises there then!!
This weekend is pretty much Katie's weekend as she has a party on Saturday & Sunday bang in the middle of the afternoon, so when she is at them we plan to get some Christmas shopping done!
Oh, I bet you are excited ILS!! Are you just going to chill out with her or do something special?
I am really looking forward to seeing her, speaking on msn and the phone is just not the same. I think we will just chill out and maybe go to the pub for lunch or dinner, whatever she want I suppose. I know she is intending catching up with her mates who stayed behind, so I guess we will have to fit in with them.

Joseph was recently in Brighton and although a few of us wanted to go we desided against it because he was in it - looks like we made a wise desision
Glad you & Katie enjoyed it though! :)
Andrea 08-11-2004, 05:38 PM I'm off out this Friday night. Going out with my circle group of friends and we are going for a meal in Norwich, but it just so happens that included in the price is admittance to the night club below the restaurant. I haven't been out to a night club in ages, I'm really looking forward to it.
Bonsai 10-11-2004, 04:08 PM I dont have any plans this weekend. Last weekend changed slightly as we decided to clear out the shed. I think all we have to do this weekend is go to the local dump, and that it.
Im looking forward to vegging out, eating choccie peanuts and watching some of the films i recorded over the last week.
Bella 10-11-2004, 04:18 PM I need to go shopping for shoes!! I had hoped that I could dye a pair of satin ivory shoes, but the lady I gave them to says it probably won't work! I hate shopping for shoes........Kooky, Voice, Flip, any of you fancy doing some shoe shopping for me?
Bonsai 17-11-2004, 02:45 PM This weekend should be fun.
On Saturday we are going to my sister in laws for the day. We are all off shopping, and then having dinner with her and her family. She is great fun so i KNOW we will have a splendid time.
Sunday will be a chill out day as its my wedding anniversary.
Then on Monday im off Xmas shopping with my dad. Its tradition that we go together, and have been doing it since i was about 6. Just the two of us. So im looking forward to spending his money, and being treated to a nice lunch out :)
I haven't got anything planned - which is lovely especially after the upheaval of the last couple of weeks. I am looking forward to just chilling out :D
maxine 17-11-2004, 03:32 PM I'm going for a job interview on Friday which could set the tone for my weekend.
Other than that I've got a 40th to go to on Saturday night and Sunday I'm toying with the idea of going to Bluewater depending on how I feel.
Nothing planned, which I love as by the time cleaning, ironing, washing and running to boys to varius social events and football...too bloomin knacked.
I like to have a little project or a plan tho...this weekend I think I may clear out under the stairs and put in some rails to hang the numerous winter coats we seem to have.
:)
PS only downside here is coats may smell of stinky trainers and hoover
Saturday sees the fruition of my secret plan.
I have been secretly planning Mr F's 50th b'day party for weeks now - and I reckon I have covered all bases, including an excuse to cook humongous amounts of food, tons of cars in the drive - the only thing I have failed on is getting his pressies delivered on Saturday [although his burpday is on the following Tuesday].
But I have managed to get his eldest son and wife to come up from London, his eldest bro and wife to come up from Bournemouth, his cousins from North Allerton and a host of others spread far and wide to attend -s o the pressie, a Dovecote, can wait really.
Sunday at 10am [not forgetting I am hosting a party for over 50 people the night before and will have had to have cooked breakfast for at least 7 people beforehand] I am taking the Family Service - don't forget I was blessed by the Bish of Lindesfarne to do so - and so now that I am capable - I am taking the Family Service at Church - luckily I am not doing the sermon, just reading the service sheet and one of the lessons - if I had to do the sermon I reckon I would fail miserably.
Sunday afternoon I intend to die on the sofa!! RIP stressed and even more stressed Flipoid!!!
Bonsai 18-11-2004, 09:03 AM Lol Flippy, what a busy and wonderful weekend you have ahead of you :)
I hope you enjoy every second, and that Mr. Flip is chuffed with the time and energy you have spent organising his suprise.
Have a drink on me :drinking:
Andrea 18-11-2004, 09:05 AM This weekend I'm hoping to have the car, hubby should be decorating, so I should be able to take it.
I need to go to B&Q to change a pot of paint, and then hopefully going to a garden centre/craft shop nearby to get my mum's Xmas present. She makes her own greetings cards so she wants some embossing powder (whatever that is)at least it's a present that she will use.
As for the in-laws, I've no idea what to buy.
Then sunday, its Sunday school with the kids and a relaxing afternoon reading the paper:)
karenh 18-11-2004, 09:16 AM This weekend we are going to my sister-in-laws in Burwash (Sussex). Its Mum-in-Law's 70th next week and we are celebrating it on Saturday. There will be 8 of us there for the weekend, with another two joining us for dinner on Saturday.
On Saturday we going to a very fancy restaurant for dinner. Sunday, we'll have lunch together in a local country pub. There should be lots of merry making and frivolity in-between.
I'm really looking forward to it. I hope the weather id dry though - my sister-in-law lives in a lovely part of the world which is great for country walks. Provided it's not raining!
Môrph™ 18-11-2004, 10:45 AM This weekend we are of to Glasgow to see Gabrielle in concert, really looking forward to it
Andrea 18-11-2004, 01:20 PM I saw Gabrielle doing a spot in a nightclub years ago just as she was becoming famous. When she was wearing that eye patch.:)
Hope you enjoy the concert.
Have a great time Morph :)
Môrph™ 18-11-2004, 06:32 PM Thanks Guys, I am sure I will enjoy it, I am really looking forward to it :cool2:
Finally sorting my house out after all the building work! :)
Well half way thur, so tomorrow I will be doing the ironing whilst watching the repeat of the Xfactor. Getting dinner prepared, MIL round. Trying not to drink too much wine so fall asleep before IAC.
I may even go for another run in the morning.
doubt it tho.
:cool2:
Bonsai 25-11-2004, 10:52 AM I havent got any plans this weekend .... but it might be the last lazy weekend we get before we start packing
So i plan to do NOTHING and watch lots of films and drink too much.
Bella 25-11-2004, 11:25 AM Oh, this is one weekend I have been waiting for! It is my best friend's hen night on Saturday. And no, it is not going to be the "usual" sort of hen party where we slap on the "l" plates and trapse round the streets of Edinburgh. It is a rather more sophisticated affair where we are spending half the day at One Spa. It has one of the spa pools located on the roof of their building where you have fabulous outlooks over the city of Edinburgh. We will have a light tea with some Champagne after and then we all off for some Salsa Dancing Lessons, then disco on down to some "cheesy" hits. We are all staying over at the hotel, so this is my first weekend away from both the girls but I am rather excited about it!!! :) I can't wait!
It sounds fabulous Bella, have a great time http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies%20-%20Party/party05.gif
This weekend on Friday I am going out with some mates to a comedy club in Portsmouth, which I am really looking forward to.... but I have nothing else planned for the rest of the weekend so I will just chill out with the kids and nurse a hangover! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/ilovesurvivor/Smilies%20-%20Party/wine.gif
Andrea 25-11-2004, 12:49 PM That sounds fantastic Bella, have a great time. And I wouldn't worry too much about the kids, if they are anything like mine. When I went to the meet that was the first time I had ever spent a night away from them.
I thought they might miss me when they got up in the morning, they didn't miss me one bit, it was a boys weekend of beach, bait digging and fishing:laugh:
Saturday for me is quite busy, I'm helping out at the school Xmas fair in the morning, the kids will get to see Father Christmas and stuff themselves full of cakes.
The afternoon is getting a hall ready for this old folks concert we are doing on the Saturday night. Been doing some baking for it today, cause we do a buffet for them as well as entertain them. Night time is the actual concert.
Then the concert finishes around 9pm and some mums from school are going out for a meal and a drink so I'm hopefully going to join them for a few drinks in the locals.
Don't think I can fit anything else in there, can I?
maxine 25-11-2004, 01:06 PM What a great night you've got planned, Bella! Hope you have a fantastic time.
I've got the inlaws over on Sunday, so Saturday will be spent doing the ironing I usually do on Sunday and giving the house a good old clean.
Bella 25-11-2004, 02:14 PM Crikey Andrea, will there be enough hours in the day for you?!! The next few weekends with the run up to Christmas is manic, it is a nightmare trying to fit everything and everyone in, but at the same time I just love it!!
Bonsai 26-11-2004, 11:12 AM Have a super duper time Bella :)
My weekend has changed somewhat. Now i have to help Mr.B sort out the garage, and then we will have a fun packed trip to the tip
My life is all fun, fun, fun isnt it
Taffy 26-11-2004, 12:42 PM Working nites, both nites :(

My life is all fun, fun, fun isnt it
You ought to speak to Mr Cat..he loves the tip!! Here you have to apply for a special van permit now (which we have). We have 3 garages which are always full of other peoples stuff that we are only looking after for a while but is never reclaimed!!
So a trip to the tip is on the cards, Mr Cat and eldest son are at a Paint Ball party...in a wood...splat with paint bulletts, tomorrow. I will be doing nothing apart from cleaning and pottering. I like pottering tho...putting up pictures etc.
I like having nothing planned.
:bye:
catterall 26-11-2004, 07:08 PM Better half's out with the girls tonight - so I'm stuck in front of the PC - can't watch TV 'cos I'm recording for her and the damn thing won't let me watch another channel than the one I'm recording. (If anyone has 3 hours to spare I could explain why).
Christmas shopping tomorrow and on-call all day.
Working Sunday.
Hoorah then it'll be Monday again...
But now - time to open a bottle of wine and order that curry!
Have a busy Saturday and easy Sunday. Saturday have to go watch no2 son play football, then take him to a football party and then help out at the Christmas Fayre, pick no 2 son up and then come home.
Sunday will be pottering and washing and ironing. Mr Buzz working all weekend.
Bella forgot to mention that her weekend gets better on sunday!! Tut tut belle!!:wink2:
I have to deliver a vase to one of my old guests [long and boring story] but she lives in Edinburgh - so me and my boys are driving up to Edinburgh to deliver the vase - and meeting up with Famille la Bella for lunch.:)
And I have a party tonight - but me and Mr F are going to have to do shifts at the party - we can't get a babysitter - so I will go for the first hour or two and he will do the latter part!

Coastie 30-11-2004, 01:35 PM This weekend I shall be going to a party Saturday night and recovering on the Sunday!
It is guaranteed to be one of those parties!
Andrea 30-11-2004, 01:41 PM the Xmas lights in the town are being switched on by someone supposedly famous, probably just someone in a local panto.
I'm debating whether to take the kids down or not.
Now do I go down town, freeze myself and the kids, all to see a few coloured lights switch on. (They aren't that impressive really) or do I stay indoors, next to the log burner, glass of wine in hand and watch it on the local news.
Mmmmmmmmmmm difficult decision:wink2:
Bonsai 30-11-2004, 01:55 PM I would stay indoors

Andrea 10-12-2004, 01:35 PM Hubby is having a major fishing weekend this weekend, treating himself after all the decorating he's done.
So I've got the kids and the car:)
Tomorrow we are going to a school fair and then going to put the christmas tree and decorations up.
Sunday I'm not sure what to do yet, maybe just have a lazy day.
Andrea 14-12-2004, 01:43 PM Oh, this is one weekend I have been waiting for! It is my best friend's hen night on Saturday. Hey Bella, I was just wondering how your weekend away went, did you have a good time?
And weren't you meeting up with Flip, how is she, I haven't seen her on here for a few days, hope you both had a good laugh together.:)
Bella 14-12-2004, 02:25 PM Hi Andrea, thanks for asking it really was a fab weekend, I could get used to having a weekly spa! The One Spa at the Sheraton is really lovely and the outdoor pool was just heaven (although I got it wrong, it is on the other side of the hotel, so the views weren't really that great). The Salsa dancing was just a scream as according to the website the salsa dancers were all these gorgeous, toned guys and yes, you're right we got landed with Mario, who was at least 4 ft tall and 4ft wide!!! That said, he could certainly do the moves!! Later on in the night me and some of the girls went over to another pub for another kind of dancing............pole dancing!!! There are about 3 or 4 pubs just across from where we were salsa and they all have pole dancers and we were just really curious to see what went on. Have to say I was really rather impressed! The girls were stunning and the guys were not in the least bit sleazy! The most bizarre thing was that there were girls on the stage stripping down to their bare essentials and most of the guys in the place were more interested on what we (the fully-clothed ones) were doing there! It was fun though! However, I don't think I will be making it my local!
We had the wedding this weekend and it was just the best. My friend was absolutely stunning, she even got a fit of the giggles doing her vows! I am still aching from all the dancing I was doing. The bride & groom are only children,so most of the people that were there were friends and it was fun just meeting up in our finery, to have a ball! I really didn't want the night to end. My two girls had their first night away together, and they had great fun too, and I don't think they missed us too much!
Flip and family were on good form, and it is just as well that she brought Jack with her and he demolished my lunch, as I was feeling ever so delicate. I blame it on the fact that I was really rather chilled out from the spa and it had absolutely nothing to do with the alcohol drank the previous night! I think she is just rather busy with her sister's pub etc and getting organised for Christmas.
This weekend we are taking the girls uptown to the Winter Wonderland in Princes Street Gardens, and have a ride on the ferris wheel, plus there are a few wee rides the girls can go on. And we might even squeeze a visit in with the big man in the big red suit! Plus pick up my piece of Salmon from the Farmers Market and get organised for the week ahead!
I can't believe it is just over a week until Christmas Day! YIPPEEE!!!
This weekend I am off to my works Christmas Meal at the local carvery on Friday evening and then Saturday morning I am going to Cardiff to meet up with Miss ils to do a little shopping. I will be staying overnight in the local Travel Inn and then on Sunday I will be bringing her home for Christmas!
I can't wait :)
Tigereye 14-12-2004, 03:45 PM Loads of shopping still to do - although we are getting a big online one for all the heavy stuff - so it should be quite pleasant and easy for a change....
My friend Noel's barfday is next week so he's having a big bash on Saturday night - this guy knows how to throw a goody, and he has a room for us to stay over, so I'm reeeely looking forward to getting in to the christmas spirit, and maybe get a few of them into me as well........
Sunday is visiting rellies we won't see over the crimbo..........
should be a bit of craic......
claire 14-12-2004, 03:51 PM I don't know, I have the memory of a sieve!!
I do know that I have my husbands work do on Monday next week!! Its going to be fantastic and Im asking you all to pray I dont make a fool of myself in front of his work colleagues.
...Yesterday some of them saw a very very cheesy/ embarrassing e-mail I wrote to him- way too lovey dovey, the type most people would get sick over if they read it! :offtopic: I know but Im going now :bye:
Bonsai 15-12-2004, 10:49 AM This weekend we need to move a cupboard in the kitchen to allow our cooker to go in the slot. The hole is 50cm and our cooker is 60cm. Luckily there is plenty of room to slide the end unit across, but no doubt hubby will curse and moan through the whole thing
I will await delivery of said oven, and no doubt cook a meal fit for Delia on the Sunday evening
Bella - so glad to hear that it went well and better, and that you recovered well enough to dance the night away - good on ya!!!

Blimey - now THATS what i call a busy weekend *phew*.
Good luck with the play Flippy.
Coastie 16-12-2004, 12:41 PM Well compared to last weekend this is a bit of an anti-climax.....
Saturday - get up late - go to mums for early Christmas Dinner (as I'm working Christams day and mum will be in Newquay) - then working nights.
Sunday - Sleeping as working nights!
karenh 14-01-2005, 09:33 AM I am really looking forard to this weekend. It's nothing special, but some weeks you need the weekend more than others, and this is one of 'em! I do have a few plans though:
Tonight - out for dinner with my friend for drinks, food and gossip. My 3 favourite things!
Tomorrow - gym in the morning, where I'm treating myself to a massage, facial and a sauna after my workout. After that I've nothing planned.
Sunday - we're off to see White Noise (eek!) and then out to a country pub for grub.
Roll on the weekend!
Your weekend sounds great Karen - don't forget to let us know what 'White Noise' is like...
This weekend I don't really have anything planned except the usual footie on Sunday!
Now that's I've finally recovered from the flu, I need to catch up. So this weekend I'm working.
Bella 14-01-2005, 10:21 AM Well tonight I was supposed to be hosting a candle party but the girl who was running it phoned me yesterday to say that she is no longer doing them and sends me 100% apologies!! There were a few of my friends coming to it, but I think instead we are going to go out for a few drinks and have a bit of a gossip!
Katie & I are getting our hair cut tomorrow and then we are going to have a family weekend. We own two properties and both tenants moved out last month, both the properties were needing work done to them so Mr B has been spending most of time doing that and this weekend he is free to be with us - hoorah!!! We are going to sit down and talk holidays!!! My friend has moved to Clearwater in the Gulf Coast and we are half thinking of going there this year. So major discussion is planned. Sunday I am on creche duty at church, we will come home and have a good old roast chicken lunch and then maybe go swimming or something. I am looking forward to seeing my husband!
Eternity 14-01-2005, 10:41 AM I am going to get a kick start on the old Spring Cleaning! Whoppeeeeee!!
(Never know, I may get the sun to shine a bit!)
maxine 14-01-2005, 12:34 PM I'm off out to a 40th party tomorrow night with all my old work colleagues so it'll be nice to catch up with them over a few vodkas.
Bonsai 14-01-2005, 02:03 PM This weekend my best friend is coming to stay with me :cool2: She will be arriving around midday tomorrow, and we are going down to the local pub (dragging Mr. B with us ... although he hates girlie chats) and having dinner and a couple of drinkies.
I cant wait to see her. The last time was the middle of December, and i miss her hugely.
Bonnie superb to see you back - although fleetingly till you get pc proper at home ... :p
I am being 'vicar' this Sunday at Church, me and my mate Alyson run the family services - she does all the research, gives it to me to make into a service, she brings the tea and milk and I do the standing and talking in Church - I do love doing this ... I will also be making some biscuits for the ocassion [coffee/juice and bikkies afterwards].
And then I have a superb Rolled Rib of Beef for lunch - I just cannot wait I am salivating at the mere thought of it - oh my and it is so well hung!!!:wink2:
I am greatly relieved to report that I have nothing at all planned this weekend. I am actually looking forward to a few days of domestic chores and simplicity. I have some college homework to do, will try and fit in a run with Bazeeeeeeel and a session at the gym.
Like flip I will also be cooking a lovely sunday roast....I will ask the butcher...
"hello Mr Butcher Man, is your beef well hung"
"It certainly is young lady, look at this"
Mr Butcher slaps his beef on the counter with a THWACK!!
"ooh thats a lovely well hung beef Mr Butcher, I'll take the whole length"
"are you sure, its a lot to manage all at once"
"..it looks so delicious I'm sure it will be gobbled up with no problem"
:bye:

floopy 14-01-2005, 06:57 PM We're going to a two year old's birthday party tomorrow  , then going out in the evening with friends, he's playing golf on Sunday and I'm booked in for the 4 hour extended Return of the KIng on DVD with my sister.
I'm going to watch my youngest play footie on Sunday morning and then I am coming home to tackle my ironing whilst I watch American Idol!
Bonsai 15-02-2005, 02:44 PM I know the weekend seems yonks away, but im looking forward to it already !!!
My neice is coming to stay, and i love having her around. Mr.B is collecting her Friday evening, and bringing her home. Then on saturday i will drop her off at her boyfriends house. During the day, Mr.B and i will be 'trying' to buy a new home computer. We went to PC World last Saturday, and both computers we wanted were out of stock :ranting: I was fuming as their were banners everywhere saying "take your PC home today". What a joke. So we will call them beforehand and check they have them in.
If so, we will collect it, and try and rig it up. Oh, and we are getting a new printer too.
In the evening i will collect my neice and we will go to the pub for dinner and drinkies.
On Sunday her parents are arriving in the afternoon, and we will all go off for a long bracing walk along the sea with their new puppy, and then have sunday dinner. They will then all go home early evening.
Sounds kinda good even if i say so myself :wink2:
I haven't planned very much this weekend as I want to chill as much as possible as I will be away next weekend in London :D
Friday I am going out in the evening with some friends for a meal and drinks as it is my birthday.......
Saturday - nothing planned........
Sunday - nothing planned except watching the youngest master ils play football if his team has a game......
Andrea 16-02-2005, 01:51 PM Same here Ils.
Not much planned at all, keeping myself for the weekend after http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/13/13_4_6.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYAXGB)
Bonsai 16-02-2005, 02:19 PM My plans have changed slightly. On the Sunday we have more family members coming for dinner, so ill be cooking for 9 people !!!!!!
Luckily i bought a massive turkey in Tesco when they were half price, so i dug it out the freezer this morning to start to defrost. It feeds 12-15 people, so it should do the trick perfectly.
I have quite a busy weekend ahead!
On Friday I am travelling to London on the train where I am staying in a hotel with a couple of friends for the weekend. On Saturday we will be going to the Survivor - Online Meeting in Holborn! Going home early Sunday afternoon!
I can't wait :funky:

floopy 24-02-2005, 08:31 PM hang on, just on the phone to my mum asking her to get the spare room ready....
Coastie 26-02-2005, 07:58 AM Ils will be rising out of a drunken stouper right now...her hair in the art form that only Medussa could contest and bags beneath her eyes the size of Mrs Miggins potato sacks....her breath will resemble the smell you get when the drains blocked up and all the others on the meet will be going eeeeew....until they realise that they are in the same boat. :wink2:
Bonsai 27-02-2005, 05:09 PM This weekend has been quite exciting for a gadget (is that how you spell it) fiend like me !!!
Mr.B and i have spent an obscene amount of money on a new dogs ******** computer, which i am testing out now. I havent spent that much money for ages .... PLUS a new printer (which does everything but cook your dinner) AND all the photo paper and cartridges and just about everything else computer linked.
And because i was getting stressed spending so much i thought i would treat myself and get a digital camera i had my eye on :ninja: I was still using the old fashioned kind - so now im all mod conned, and raring to go.
Oh - and we also have broadband and a wireless modem which appears to be working wonderfully, so all in all a fun and expensive weekend
This weekend certainly won't be as exciting as last weekend, in fact I think what I will be doing is clearing up the mess that the builders leave when they finally come to finish my kitchen! Well I doubt they will finish it, they have to lay a new floor, move 3 wall cupboards put a new one up, replace the damaged sink, re artex the ceiling, reinforce a wall, tile where needed and repaint the kitchen....
Stressville here I come
Joy of joys - me and N [tiddles] are going to stay with my mate Kate and her little person [same age as N] on Friday night. Us girls will be going out and Mr Kate will babysit the boys.
Then Saturday N is going to a party, and then at night the whole Flip family are going to a Race night at the Village Hall, it is a Young Farmers do, in conjunction with our school PTA - much booze, pies and peas will be consumed.
Sunday: I will be baking bikkies at 7am [ish] for Church - me and my mate Alyson run the Family service, it is her turn to take it but I will be doing the readings, and leading the hymns. Oh and it is Mothers Day - so hopefully I will get a treat???
And then I am cooking a large leg of lamb with all the trimmings for me, well everyone else can have some too, of course.:wink2:

Ahhhh but ILS imagine the satisfaction you will have when its all done :D
We havent planned anything for the weekend yet, usually we take the Nipper dawg on a good walk Saturdays and Sundays, up on the Moors perhaps, we havent been up there for a while now......and then stock up on movies if the weather is going to be pants.....maybe thrash Mr Q at ATV Off Road Fury on the PS2..................I WISH!!!!!!! The only time I manage to thrash him is when he is on his 4th can of stella and Im not drinking
tonee 01-03-2005, 04:45 PM This weekend, 2 invitations to the Vagina Monologues and an Amnesty event, drinking pints for freedom. I thought I would help out there. Bit of a natural talent!
Bonsai 01-03-2005, 06:01 PM Well, i know you all think im mad (and i probably am), but im picking up our puppy on Friday evening.
Then on saturday im having my highlights done, and on sunday going to visit my mum for mothers day and having dinner there.
floopy 01-03-2005, 06:46 PM We have no plans at all yet, although C's working on Friday night, and I'm nagging him to phone our rich friends and blag an invite over there on Saturday night, cos we get fed and they always give us free stuff for the baby.
Of course he may well have plsnned a hugely romantic first ever mothers day treat for me.....:whistling
God..I'd love another Meet. Anyone want to come to Bedford????
Voice of reason 02-03-2005, 07:00 PM I'm going shopping in Nottingham on Saturday as I feel the need to stock up on Diesel Jeans and things I won't be able to get in NZ. I also want to get Sam some new clothes as he looks to be growing a bit (hurrah!!) and he's such a string bean that he's difficult to buy for.
Sunday I have been told I can do whatever I like, but as Sam isn't eating at the moment we can't really go out for lunch so I think we'll stay home and I'll clear out another room or something, being organised makes me happy so it's a treat in a way!
Anyone want to come to Bedford????
I'd love to Cat, but I can't make it this weekend
Andrea 03-03-2005, 09:31 AM Taking the kids to a birthday party Saturday afternoon.
Then Saturday night, going out to a "progressive supper"
You are basically in pairs and start off at someones house for a starter, then when you have finished your starter you get an envelope saying where you are going for your main course.
The idea is that you have your starter and main course with different people.
Then we all meet up at a friends house for puddings and a bit of a party.
Luckily for me I am not doing a starter or a main. Me and Mr Morrison will be making a nice Pavlova of some sort :wink2:
floopy 03-03-2005, 09:38 AM progressive party?

In my sisters village these are known as Roving Dinners. They are great fun, I went with her once when her husband wasn't well (she was doing main course). We ended up for coffee's at this huge house and everyone had to jump over their pond.
They are very boooooooooooooozey affairs here.
Critique 03-03-2005, 10:32 AM Id wear your best knickers if i were you :wink2:
Hahaha Bonnie, you all crack me up with your one-liners
My boring weekend will consist of Tesco shopping later (unless I decide to do it online - naaah, I need to get out). Then it's my grandson weekend (I have him alternate weekends, have done since he was a baby).
Now he's 12 it usually means that he b*ggers off to the skate park or into Town with his mates and I am stuck indoors to be on hand when he comes back.
Then Saturday night I have dig myself out in the cold at 7 pm and drive him to the Roller Disco at the Leisure Centre. I usually stay there for the 2 hours because I can't be bothered to come home and go back.
Sunday, much the same. Still, as it's mother's day I will probably be able to talk Mr C into taking us out to lunch :naughty:
My son says he has combined my Mother's Day and Birthday pressie cos they are only 2 days apart - not sure if I will have to wait til Tuesday for my pressie :)
Bonsai 11-03-2005, 09:12 AM I really cant wait for this weekend to start. Not because i have anything special planned, but because i cant wait to finish work !!!!
I dont have anything planned for tonight, just vegging infront of the TV.
Tomorrow my Dad is coming over to help Mr.B move a fence post in the garden. We need to put our caravan in the yard on 1st Apr, and although there is a large gate at the side of the garden, it isnt quite large enough (or something like that anyway - i dont really pay attention !!).
So he will be there all day, and then will go in the evening.
As soon as he has gone Mr.B and I will be going down the pub for a few shandys and dinner.
I havent any plans for Sunday, although i think it will be a tad boring as i have chores to do like the washing, general cleaning and washing my car (which is so dirty you cant see what colour it should be anymore  ). I think Mr.B is finishing his accounts (yawn) so i sharent see him for much of the day.
If i can ill probably pop on here and say hi
Critique 11-03-2005, 09:15 AM Abso-blooming-lutely nothing - so far anyway :(
Mr Q is working tomorrow  he says someone has to......................... now I am a laydeeeeeeeee of leisure  but its only for the morning, so we will probably have a mooch along the beach with the dog tomorrow afternoon and then there is a SKA night on at one of the locals that we may just pop along and have a cheeky beer or 2.........
Then Sunday, nothing planned yet - supposed to be pants weather here, so will have to wait see, I wouldnt mind going to the garden centre for a mooch......
Bonsai 11-03-2005, 09:47 AM Mr Q is working tomorrow  he says someone has to......................... now I am a laydeeeeeeeee of leisure  .
Have i missed something again ???? I thought you had a new job *scratches head*
Tonight I am going to watch Comic Relief on the box with a few beers...Tomorrow I have to work in the morning  then when I get home we are going to bury 'mrs rabbit' ... In the afternoon my eldest son has to try his prom outfit on and then I think I will chill out in front of the tv!! Sunday we have footie in the morning and then nothing else planned....
Boy I do live the high life!
Im quite excited about Comic Relief tonight ILS ......... really looking forward to it!
Andrea 11-03-2005, 10:02 AM Me too, about Comic Relief.
I'm going to get a bottle of wine, sit in front of the tv and have a good giggle.
Their looks to be some brilliant sketches. Can't wait to see Robbie as a "laydeeeeeee" and Elton John and George Michael with the little britain lot.
Should be a hoot.
I actually wanted to by one of the T-shirts but they have sold out.
And in our local paper today, they are reporting that all the red noses in the area have been sold out.
People have been buying them by the boxes and then selling them on e-bay for a massive profit. I think that is scandalous. But e-bay are just saying that it isn't illegal and they can't do anything about it

Voice of reason 11-03-2005, 10:13 AM I won't be watching comic relief, not because I don't support it (I do) I just really dislike TV telethon things.
This weekend will be spent getting rid of yet more stuff from the house. The buyers are also coming round to have another look at the garden as they will want to get some trees lopped once they have moved in.
I was going to go into Birmingham on Sunday but the St Paddy's day parade is on (and crufts at the NEC) so the roads will be jammed.

This has happened with the blue 'anit-bullying' wrist bands too. My eldest ordered his way back in September, it arrived last week [free of charge] he has already been offered 20 pounds for it. But they are selling on ebay for up to 50 pounds?? I just don't understand!
But anyway this weekend is a quiet one - I am on Church Cleaning duties in the morning, so I am roping hubby and the boys in as well.
And Fri, Sat and Sun night - all I want to do is just cosy up and watch telly, do some sewing and reading and just have some quiet family time!
Bella 11-03-2005, 12:17 PM Who on earth buys these red noses and wristbands at inflated prices? They are worse than daft!
Not really got any plans for weekend, Katie is in a play at her Drama this afternoon, watch Red Nose on TV tonight.
It really depends on what the weather will be like at the weekend as to what we will do.
I am on creche duty at Church on Sunday. And that's about it! :)
Coastie 14-03-2005, 08:14 AM I had a lovely if exhusting weekend.....
Up at 4am on Sat morn - picked up mum and oldest neice at 5am...then off to Newquay...3.5hrs drive!
Met my new and beautiful 3rd Neice who is a confirmed snuggler. Unlike the other two who always wanted to see what was going on the new addition to the family likes to be on the shoulder and nestled into your neck...bless...she's a month old and was given her first full recital of Coasties official welcome to the world....yes I sang her the full lyrics of 'Winnie the Pooh'.... gotta start em young!
Anyway Sunday was more quality time with my neices, brother and his partner and then the drive home....got back in time for the pub quiz and won! Yay! :w00t:
I am really looking forward to this weekend :D
Later today miss ils comes home for Easter (for about 3 weeks) from university...
Saturday - it is the eldest master ils's 16th birthday so we are going out to lunch as a family, his girlfriend is also joining us as she is almost like one of the family now!
Sunday - the youngest master ils has a friendly football match against a team where a lot of his school friends play for, so it could be a good match....
And to top it all the weather forcast is for good, fine, warm weather.
ils that sounds like a lovely family weekend all together with Miss ils - have a lovely time.
I have finally got my dates right and it is Church cleaning duty on Saturday morning.
And Sunday I am reading a lesson in a neighbouring church, and in the afternoon I will be cooking vegetable lasagne for The Pilgrims of The Northern Cross who will be visiting our Church on Sunday evening at 6pm.
I will be taking the food over and help make their stay as warm and welcoming as poss. They stay the night in the village hall - and people who live near to the Church [I don't] will offer the pilgrims showers or baths.
Bonsai 18-03-2005, 02:53 PM I cant wait for this weekend to start, although i havent really got anything major planned.
On Saturday i need to go to Tescos to do some much needed shopping, and also buy a dog flap :ninja:
Then Saturday night is pub night, which i always look forward to.
Then Sunday Mr. B's parents and nephew are coming over and we are having a BBQ. Even if the weather isnt warm enough to sit outside (although we are hardened campers) we can eat indoors.
I plan to eat, drink and be merry :wink2:
Critique 18-03-2005, 03:30 PM I'll be packing and running round like a headless chicken tomorrow ready to be off to Ireland. We are going to Wales on Sunday, staying overnight with relatives and over to Ireland on the Ferry Monday. Looking forward to seeing somewhere new. Be back Easter Sunday.
Have a good time Critique, and don't forget to come back and tell us all about it :D
Well, tonight I am going to a house party then off to a club which is open til 6am to mark its birthday or something. I plan to sweat it out til it finishes but somehow that's unlikely...
Then tomorrow night a few mates are visiting from Dundee for a night out in Glasgow.
So, don't expect me to be posting for a while.... :drinking:

We have an Easter Egg Hunt and a magician at the school tomorrow, then we are going to Mr B's mums for a birthday tea (her birthday is today). Sunday I am going to be stuck up to my armpits in paper mache as they hold a Holiday Club during the Easter Break. This year it is based on space, so God only knows what I will letting myself in for in volunteering!! Katie has a birthday party in the afternoon, and then I intend to chill out and watch 24 later in the evening!
floopy 18-03-2005, 06:36 PM I am now offically on holiday :pimp:
We went o a local lake today and watched the ducks and swans and stuff, which Gigi enjoyed.
Tomorrow we're going to see Cockney's mum, then who knows, the rest of the weekend is entrely ours.

sallyl 18-03-2005, 06:38 PM What am I doing this weekend...the same as I do every weekend...recover from the week
karenh 18-03-2005, 07:00 PM Tomorow I am getting my hair cut (just a trim and roots done etc). Normally, I love going to the hairdressers as it tends to be a real papmpering session, but because I've got flu at the moment, I'm dreading it. I dare not cancel and re-arrange either, as my hairdresser is extremely popular and gets booked up 2 months in advance :mad2:
And the worst thing is, the appt. is at 08.20am. On a SATURDAY
This weekend I shall be going to football with middle buzz tomorrow morning and then in the evening I and Mr B are going out with friends for a chinese to celebrate a birthday, followed by lots and lots and lots of beer, and as I havenlt got the boys overnight we shall finish off with more beer........
On Sunday I shall be very ill with a hangover.....and feel like this :wallbash:
Lugger Buggs 18-03-2005, 07:47 PM nothing ....... nothing at all.
Ceridwen 18-03-2005, 07:49 PM And the worst thing is, the appt. is at 08.20am. On a SATURDAY

I'm going into York for a spot of shopping, meeting up with some friends then probably go visit family in the evening. I've also got the dreaded unpacking to do from holidays, but that can wait till sunday
And the worst thing is, the appt. is at 08.20am. On a SATURDAY
Go to bed NOW then!!! That is a ridiculous time to have your hair done, yee gads women the population, bar you and your haridresser are all still in bed!!:wink_kiss
Andrea 18-03-2005, 09:08 PM Busy weekend this weekend.
Tomorrow taking both kids to a party. It is one of their bestest friends and is also the son of my bestest friend, so looking forward to that.
In the evening I'm off out to a house party celebrating a friends 40th birthday, so that should be a good night.
Sunday, Mr A. has got the oldest son (he's taking him on the beach fishing) and I'm taking youngest son to another birthday party, one of his friends from nursery.
He is so chuffed that he gets to go to a party on his own without his brother.
Not that he hates his brother, its just that Sean has been to quite a few of his friends parties and Steven always gets a bit upset when he can't go to them as well.
Trying to explain to a 3 year old that it is Sean's friend and you will have parties to go to soon of your own friends, is a bit difficult when he's crying the house down.
But tomorrow he gets to go to a party on his own
Andrea we are in chat talking about you, join us?
Dolores 18-03-2005, 09:16 PM I'm working tomorrow - counting people who walk up and down the high street! Coastie do you want to be a number on my chart!
Then me and my son are going to the Museum where I work sometimes cos it's national science week and they are shooting big guns and cannons! whoooh! exciting stuff huh!
On Sunday he is going to a party at 10am until about 4ish!!! yipeeee! so I will tidy up the garden, go the gym (which I have just joined!) and then do all my ironing and tidy up ... alternatively I will waste all my "me" time on here!!
Dolores 18-03-2005, 09:17 PM Andrea we are in chat talking about you, join us?
only nice stuff!!! oh alright some of it's true!
Andrea 18-03-2005, 09:19 PM It better had be nice stuff :mad2: I'm a nice person me you know :wink_kiss
I'm just off for a quick ciggie and I'll be in, in a minute :bye:
Bonsai 22-03-2005, 11:46 AM I dont have any plans really for this bank holiday. Im also taking the Tuesday off work, so i get a 5 days break which will be smashing. I aim to sleep for a lot of it as im completely knackered.
My aunty is over from Derbyshire and staying with my parents. They keep inviting us over, and i would love to see her, but i cant bare the thought of travelling to Essex (and neither can Mr.B as he travels to and from there daily). So i doubt we will see her which is a shame.
I think Mr.B is installing out shower which will be great. We bought it 1/2 price in the January sales. We are supposed to rip out the old bathroom and replace it, but i forgot to order a bath !!! But a shower will be lovely as it will be nice to wash myself and my hair at the same time for a change.
We will be painting Lewies bedroom.....If I can decide on a colour scheme
Groucho 22-03-2005, 11:56 AM Watching the kids eat chocolate until they're sick, probably. :)
Dolores 22-03-2005, 12:27 PM I shall be mostly sleeping! :sleepy:
wake me up on Monday round about 4pm, thank you!
Coastie 22-03-2005, 12:47 PM I shall be cooking duck al la Flip for my mum on Sunday!
Andrea 22-03-2005, 08:44 PM Nothing planned for me this weekend, just mooch around with the kids.
But hubby is supposed to be going to Orford Ness, an island somewhere off the coast of suffolk, to go fishing with his brother. Although the way he's not really getting on with it, I can see him just fishing around here all weekend
Saturday: I have a choir practice for Easter Sunday
Sunday: Easter Sunday Service with choir - can't wait, we sound fab. [I don't really include myself in this cos I am not the best singer - but I so love singing - they let me join in].
Sunday I wishes I was heading down to Portsmouth for Duck with Coastie and her Mum. But I will be doing something with my boned leg of lamb - it smells of grass you know?
[b]Monday: me and my mate Kate are taking our respective tiddlers to my house in Scotland for a couple of days. To top off the whole few days Bella and her two tiddlers are coming down to spend a day with us. We will probably go up into the Cheviots for a picnic if the weather is nice - if not we will find some child-friendly Easter activity in Kelso - wayhey - can't wait!!!:kid:
Bonsai 30-03-2005, 12:31 PM I had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, and i had yesterday off work too.
I didnt really do anything special, i just had a nice relaxing time.
Friday was spent mostly down the pub.
Saturday was spent in the garden .... then down the pub.
Sunday was spent with family who came to help us move our caravan from the camp site into our back garden. We then had a wonderful walk along the sea front.
Monday was spent mainly watching films, and eating too much choccie.
Tuesday - i had to take my cat (Bernie) to the vets to be shaved. So that took from 10 till 11. I then registered with the local doctor, and went to Tescos. In the evening we ...... you guessed it, went down the pub :w00t:
This weekend we havent got any plans, which is the best way in my opinion. We will probably just veg out a bit and go down the pub :ninja:
Coastie 30-03-2005, 12:35 PM Flying to Egypt...very excited...could pee but that would be icky! :w00t:

I'm going diving for a week!
No real touristy things...as in I wont be visiting the pyramids and am likely to be riding any camels but I will be taking a stroll up mount Sanai and visiting the place where Moses saw the burning bush!
The main reason for the trip is the diving....Red Sea here I come!

Critique 31-03-2005, 02:03 PM Have a great time girls and let us know all about it when you get back.
I shall be "babysitting" grandson again this weekend (he'd hate me to say that as he is 12 - lol). It usually involves me sitting indoors worrying about what he's up at at the Skatepark or in Town with his mates. I used to think it was difficult when he was little and we did cake mixes and made playdough but at least I knew where he was. I always feel a bit "trapped" because I can't go out in case he comes home to an empty house.
Hope the weather cheers up a bit. I might get the old patio set out on my back stairs landing and at least I can sit out there with me cuppa and CD player and get a bit of fresh air :)
Well I haven't really got anything planned except my youngest son plays his last game of the season on Sunday! It really is a bit of a non event really as whatever the score is they have finished 3rd and their opponents have finished 1st in their league. I think they will both be promoted to the A league next season!
Andrea 31-03-2005, 10:14 PM Ooh, well done to you son's football team, ils.
This weekend I have nothing planned.
If the weathers nice might take the kids out to "kiddies korner", a place full of trikes, bikes and a sand pit all for the pricely sum of £1.25/child for as long as you want, and if you leave you can still come back in later.
We usually take a picnic and spend ages there.
Otherwise just in the house doing not much really.

Bonsai 08-04-2005, 09:54 AM Ive got a hectic weekend coming up. We are going back to Essex to visit some of Mr.B's family.
On the Saturday we are seeing his sister Shelagne - and going for a long walk and having lunch. She has also moved recently (since separating from her husband) so we can have a nosy at her new home.
Then we are travelling a few more miles to see another one of his sisters, Vanessa and her wonderful family. We are staying there for the rest of the day, and then staying overnight. Thats the only bit we ARENT looking forward too as we have to sleep on the sofa .... and its a sofa with no springs (well non that i can detect). We are also taking our sleeping bags and pillows.
I also worry about the dog as he will be shut in their bathroom, but he will be in a strange place, with strange noises / smells and will probably bark all night and pee everyone off. So no doubt we will be up mega early on Sunday morning taking him for a walk ..... and the others normally stay in bed until about midday on a Sunday (oh joy !!!!).
Then, Sunday afternoon we are going to a warehouse place thingy that does fantastic candles, cushions etc ... and then going home.
Phew
Tonight I am off out for a drink with one of my best friends, we haven't been out for a few weeks and it will be good to catch up with all her news.
Tomorrow I have to work in the morning but after that I haven't really got anything planned except saying goodbye to miss ils as she goes back to uni & then watching Strickly Dance Fever, Dr Who & Casualty in the evening.
Sunday my youngest son has a friendly (footie match) so I will pop along to that and then I'll do my ironing watching the repeat of American Idol.
Cockney 08-04-2005, 11:30 AM This weekend I will be getting drunk and staying drunk untill monday morning
I will be playing Golf on Sunday Drunk just to give them a chance
Tonight we have some friends coming for dinner - and by special request I am cooking spag bol, although I am having cod and chips, im not too fussed on pasta.......
Tomorrow, we are going for a mooch in Totnes - they have a lovely little market where you can buy home made chutney and organic veggies that are really cheap.....its a bit of a hippie market and there are some real bargains to be found......also some lovely hand made jewellry....and a brilliant second hand book stall!
Sunday we are going to some friends for a meal, and the kids are going to their nans, so I get a day off from cooking :D
Dolores 08-04-2005, 12:30 PM I'm off to a barbecue tomorrow night (Sat). http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_103v.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYAXGB) Think of me?! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_6_9.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYAXGB)I'm gonna have to get really drunk to keep my body temperature constant! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_7_1.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSYYYYYYAXGB)

I love those type of markets, esp the jewellery bit.
Off to quiz night and pi55 up at the rugby club tonight, recovering tomorrow, spending all day at a rugby festival on Sunday (hopefully, if my son's team get through the rounds).
karenh 08-04-2005, 04:15 PM I have no idea what I'm doing this weekend.
Its my wedding anniversary today. We are going out to eat tonight, but really we are celebrating the anniversary tomorrow. Mr H has planned a "surprise" and for once.
I know it sounds miserable, but I hate surprises. I know for a fact that we aren't going away anywhere, and I know that whatever we are doing involves us leaving no later than 9:00am tomorrow. I also know that I should wear "smart/casual" clothes.
I dunno why, but I've a sneaky suspicion we're going to Aintree for the Grand National! I do hope not, as I hate that race. I can never watch it because of all of the horses getting hurt, but I doubt that Mr H actually knows that. Ah well, he's gone to a lot of effort, so if that is what he has planned I'll have to grin and bear it.
God, I'm a right misery, aren't I!
Happy anniversary Karen and Mr H, and I hope that you have a good time tomorrow and enjoy each other's company, wherever you go.
Dolores 08-04-2005, 04:23 PM God, I'm a right misery, aren't I!
yes you are lady! cheer up it might not be the GN!
Whatever you do have a lovely day and evening. How many years is it that he's had to put up with you now?!
karenh 08-04-2005, 04:46 PM Thanks guys :)
Dol - it's been 9 years!
And I've just found it its not the GN! He happend to call me minutes after my last post so I asked him outright. He confirmed categorically that we are not going to Aintree and stated that he didn't even realise it was the GN until about 2 days ago.
Phew! I'm getting quite excited about the "surprise" now that I know its not necessarily something I hate
floopy 08-04-2005, 04:49 PM are you a fan of the Royals? :ninja:
Do you like weddings? :ninja:
Happy Anniversary Karen & Merlot :D
I hope you have a great time, whatever your surprise is Karen, and don't forget to pop online sometime next week and tell us all about it, don't leave us all in suspence!
floopy 08-04-2005, 05:56 PM We're going swimming tomorrow morning (as long as grumpy baby isn't poorly), with Cock's little boy, then buzzing down to Nannies in the afternoon.
Going out in the evening, then he's playing golf on Sunday and me and my sis are going shopping (only don't tell Cockers) :ninja:
Andrea 08-04-2005, 09:23 PM Tomorrow I'm off out with a few mates down town and going to the one and only night club in the town, that only stays open to 1am
But hey ho, a least we can have a bit of a boogie.
The night club is called Anastacia's, but in my hubby's days it used to be called the Pit. Make of that what you will :w00t:
karenh 09-04-2005, 07:59 PM Happy Anniversary Karen & Merlot :D

Thank for the anniversary wishes. :)
What a fantastic day I've had! Mr H has done a brilliant job. We basically had a day out in London and this was the "itinerary":
11:00 - 11:30am - trip on the London Eye. Done it before, but it was in the evening. This was the first time in the daytime, and it was a gloriously sunny day. Very enjoyable.
12:00-2:00pm - Luxury River Boat cruise with lunch. This was superb! Great food, great service, great views and the weather was perfect. A wonderful way to spend a leisurely 2 hour lunch.
3:00 - 6:00pm - Shaftesbury Theatre to see "The Far Pavillions". Bluddy fantastic! This is a new show - only in its 2nd week - and it was wonderful! I hadn't ever heard of it, but I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes musicals!
6:10pm - 7:30pm - Dinner at Pierre Victoire.
7:30pm - Journey home.
The whole day was a total surprise and planned meticulously. It just flowed from one lovely thing to the next!
In the past we've tended to go abroad for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary - mainly because it used to be pretty reasonable to do so. But since the Euro kicked in, it seems that the days when a trip to a European City was significantly cheaper than a British City are long gone. But I have to say, I enjoyed today equally as much as I've enjoyed trips in other European Cities - more so in some ways! London has it's critics, but today I saw it from the point of view of a tourist. And I have to say that from that perspective, it scrubs up well!
But God, I'm shattered now!
maxine 09-04-2005, 08:01 PM Wow, what a fantastic day, Karen. You're a lucky girl. Mr H is a star.
karenh 09-04-2005, 08:07 PM Wow, what a fantastic day, Karen. You're a lucky girl. Mr H is a star.
Thanks Max. He is a sweetheart. I can't believe now that I thought he might be so unromantic as to drag me halfway across the country to Aintree.
I'm going downstairs now to give him a cuddle. I just popped on because I was bursting to tell what a great day I've had!
I'm really glad for you both Karen. Have a lovely evening. xx
Wow, it sounds like you had a fabulous day Karen. Merlot is a real star!
Dolores 10-04-2005, 07:12 PM what a lovely, hectic day karen. He deserves a good seeing to for all that planning and thought!

Well, it was yesterday actually Bella, rather than today, so unfortunately, it IS over
But yeah - it is easy to take your own City for granted. You know what's there, but for some reason you don't take advantage of what's on offer. Silly really.
It's made me realise that we should wander into London from time to time and make the most of it. All those museums and historic sights - and do you know, I haven't seen half of them.

Whoops, sorry Karen! Serves me right for not reading the previous page! Still at least it was a good day.
Last week Katie & I went up Scott's Monument (the one that PJ got stuck up). I have lived in Edinburgh for 14 years, and have never gone up it, luckily it was a lovely day and we got a really view. Katie absolutely loved it.
maxine 13-04-2005, 07:24 AM I've actually got plans this weekend!
On Friday I'm meeting up with a friend of mine who's coming over from Ireland for the weekend who I haven't seen for a couple of years.
Then on Sunday I've got the family (M & D, Dol and Son) coming up for the day for an early celebration of my son's and Dol's birthdays. They share the same one and she's never forgiven him!
Patsy 13-04-2005, 08:42 AM Sounds like it will be a good laugh Max. A sober affair, obviously!

Andrea 13-04-2005, 01:34 PM On Saturday me and hubby are going to a friends house who is having a party.
They have just finished decorating the kitchen so they decided to celebrate (any excuse really).
We usually take the kids with us and come home about 9pm, but it is our 6th wedding anniversary the same day so we are getting my friend to babysit and going to get a cab there so we can both have a little drink.
Ooooh a night out with my hubby, I can't remember the last time we went out together

It will be the first time my parents have met Mr Rothera's sister and brother in law. I'm sure they are going to get along and we will spend a nice afternoon together. :D

Oh ditto - but ours is with second eldest stepson and his ex g/f [our adopted daughter], who is coming up from Jersey for the weekend to stay with us.
And they are treating us all to a lovely Sunday Lunch at a local restaurant - so no cooking for me - boo hoo!
Ooooh a night out with my hubby, I can't remember the last time we went out together
If it's anything like the nights out me and mr Buzz have Andrea, you will suddenly remember why you leave so long between them that you can't rememeber the last one.....
Talking of which, myself and Mr B are tripping along to the cat household on Friday night, for a curry and half a shandy.
Andrea 13-04-2005, 09:42 PM It sounds great Andrea, but what you really need is for the boys to go to the babysitters for the night, so you can have a nice lay in the next morning :wink2:
Now that would be a novelty
Actually my friend did mention about having them both over for a sleep over sometime. I wonder what she's doing the week after :w00t:

This weekend I am to London to see 'The Producers' and staying overnight in a luxury hotel in the Docklands.
It is a trip from work, also thrown in is a sightseeing trip around London on Saturday and a trip to Covent Garden on Sunday before we travel home which is not bad for £99.
I was originally going to see 'Mamma Mia' but whoever was organising it left it to late to get the tickets, so we are now going to see 'The Producers' which I hadn't heard off before, but is supposed to be very good.
Patsy 13-04-2005, 10:14 PM You'll have a fantastic time ils. I would love to see The Producers. It's by Mel Brooks. I believe Lee Evans is in it. Should be great.
