Things Id like to happen in EastEnders right now :-

1. Ruby and Juley's romance to stop, RIGHT NOW! It looks obscene as Ruby looks about nine years old.

2. Nana Moon to snuff it and quick, she's seriously getting on my nerves with the constant fluttering of her eyelids and shutting them completely when speaking her lines.

3. Sonia and Martin to leave.

4. Pauline to stop dipping her head in a vat of Ronseal.

5. Well'ard to rip Ians throat out.

6. Pat's house to get more and more garish and the props to get more and more tasteless (some of them are more interesting than the dialogue!)

Totally agree with you here. And why has Juley had a complete personality transplant. I mean, it was only a few months ago that he was a drug pushing, shag anything with a pulse whealer dealer.

And why doed Ruby always stand with her shoulders up around her ear lobes. Chill out babe, and relax.

Yes ! Juley "turned bad" a few months ago didnt he? And, as you say, overnight they decided to make him nice again.

Ruby, as well as her shoulders seemingly to be growing from her face, is an absolutely appalling actress. Whoever cast her should be sacked.

And whats going on with Sharon and Dennis? Do we really have to have it sledgehammered home that they cant keep their hands off each other?

Yep last nights episode was superb, not only for the acting from poor Stacey but from her Mother too !! Some of the writing was excellent too and when Staceys Mum said chillingly to her, "you torture me just by breathin the same air...." in that quiet slightly mad voice, it made the hairs go up on the back of my neck....

Thank GODDDDDDDDDDD Nana Moon has carked it. About bloody time too. Unfortunately it was with all the usual mawkishness, cheesyness and subtledly of a brass band that EE do sooooo well :glare:

I was gobsmacked to read that they are going to kill off a major character over Christmas/New Year.

Apparently (highlight to reveal spoiler):- After Johnny Allan threatens to hurt Sharon,. Dennis beats him to a pulp and so Sharon is desperate to get them both out of Walford and over to the US before Johnny can seek revenge. But as the clock strikes 12 on New Years Eve Dennis's time runs out...................... NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Phil is paying Juley to get it on with Ruby. he whole thing was a set up and Juley never fancied her in the first place but is dancing to Phil's tune.

it is a sad sad fact that it seems to be true!

gosh, wasn't it worth getting Phil back for such a ludicrous story line ... Steve MacFadyen must be really hard up for cash to have agreed to it.

And the deterioration of Johnny is just so badly acted and scripted that it makes a mockery of the viewer. As Eastenders is sticking two fingers up to the viewing public so the viewing public is retaliating by switching over or off. I can only echo Haydon's signature with a slight embellishment ... Life's too short, to watch Eastenders.

Are the viewing figures still as bad does anyone know?

Critique

I don't know about the viewing figures but I just don't know what they can do with this show to pull it back on track. I've watched it through thick and thin (and very thin lately) but it's just got nothing to commend it any more.

No good strong characters to hold it together (especially after Christmas when I believe at least 4 will be leaving) and no good storylines either. It all seems very desperate - they bring characters back hoping to boost the ratings but they don't add anything to what is just a mish-mash of odd storylines.

Apart from taking it off altogether (which wouldn't bother a lot of you I know, but it's become such a habit I know I would miss it) what would you like to see in the way of storylines for present characters or new characters brought in?

Well said Dol. There's loving your Gran and then there's appearing to be obsessed with her..... I think the Scriptwriters need to calm down a bit.

Did you see the DeadRingers impression of Shane Ritchie/Alfie Moon? It was excellent.

Mind it could have been worse you could have had the turkey made out of chicken nuggets! how ridiculous was that!

as for Sharon being up the duff .... I really can't be mithered to give a flying one!

I thought the Christmas day episode was particularly dreadful and miserable. Although I did laugh when Minty and his side kick (who's name I can't remember) came bouncing into the Vic, singing .... gosh what a jolly pair of cockerneys they were werent they ... why they even managed to get Billy Mitchell to join in with their merry song. And then lor' bless me, loverduck, ..... it started snowing outside and all the square was joyful ... Charlie Dickens couldn't have written it better. What deep deep joy. And the polystyrene laid deep and crisp and even.

Im quite glad that Johnny and Dennis are being written out as they bore me now. I wish someone would get rid of 'no neck' Ruby. She is driving me bananas.

I think Sharon and Grunt will get back together again. They do make a good pair - but i think Sharon will become all gangster ish herself now, after the death of her hubby (I tell you, never get involved with Sharon as you will snuff it within a year !!).

Im glad that Peggy hasnt been around much lately as she was driving me mad. Im also extremely bored with Juley and Gus. I think Gus's only lines are to do with Wellard. Will someone please bring that dog back to the square so we can be spared him repeating the same line 10 times per episode.

So was Denis shot by the man in the hoody who brushed past him? Either that or it was Sonia!
So I suppose Johnny pre-arranged it if Denis was still on the square by midnight.
Just how bad is squeal beale going to feel now stopping them going?
And why so upset? It's not as if Sharon hasn't left home before.
But poor Denis, why did he have to snuff it and why are the security so crap at Johnny's club? Two people got past the beefy built like a house minder and no one seemed to mind Denis walking out with blood all over him.
I want a new job in the NY I might apply for the one going at EE, they couldn't do any worse for writers

I think this current storyline is cr@p. It's been well documented that Sharon can't have babies. So suddenly she's pregnant and - shock horror - the idyll is shattered by the murder of Denis. It's all so predictable and rubbish. I actually wish it had been Sharon that snuffed it. This is one unbelievable disaster too far, now. Someone take it off the air so I can stop watching it - PLEASE!

Are we supposed to believe that Johnny, beaten to within an inch of his life, managed to dial a number on his mobile (presumably, Henchmen-R-Us) and arrange one of his heavies to stab Dennis to death?

Sharon is now the official pariah of the square, as anyone remotely connected with her carks it (Angie, Den, Tom, Dennis), so Pauline should watch her back.

Sharon getting pregnant after years of storylines where she would gasp dramatically, "I carrrrnnnn 'ave kids, awrite???" is simply ludicrous as we were led to believe there was a medical reason (now presumaby vanquished by her sitting on St Arthur of the Fowlers bench).

I cant be bothered to watch this anymore, its a complete load of utter crapola and they should have all the scriptwriters shot along with half the cast, who now looks so embarrassed by it all, they cant even be arsed to act (step forward Ruby no-neck and Gary from the garage).

Still, if they decide to cremate Dennis, he will go up like a bomb, he was so wooden.

I can't beleive no-one has added to this thread since JANUARY!!!

Can someone please explain to me ( a part time eastender watcher) how come Johnny Allen ... gangster in a pink cardie ... has got a country mansion tucked away. All those years he lived in the two up two down in the east end and he's got a veritable palace to live in now. Was he just slumming it for show or what?

I'm glad to see Phil and Grant back ... but my word the years have not been kind to Philip have they! Maybe Steve McFadden will be on Celebrity Fit Club next year!

Some absolutely scintilating dialogue between Phil and Grant ... did they pinch the script from some Year 9's homework project! :glare:

Have you noticed that the Mitchell Brothers seem to have exchanged personalities?
Ruby No Neck is coming back to the Square (argghhhh noooooooo).

Gangster Johnny's pale pink jumper is so gay its untrue and pray tell, if gangster Johnny could afford a big footballers wives type mansion, it begs the question why he was living in what would have seemed like a cardboard box in comparison, in Walford!

I didn't notice that Bonnie but I wasn't really giving it my full attention, was doing other things.

Hasn't Jane changed since she first appeared on the square. She had very short dark hair and now she has shoulder length blonde hair. Do you notice that when these characters first come in they get very little in the make-up and hair department and then, as their character gets more story lines they seem to get more time and effort spent to glam them up :)

Grant and Phil do seem to have exchanged personalities Pan. Grant was always the one to go in fists flying and Phil seemed to be the quieter one (especially when he had the storyline with his affair with Sharon). Now they've swapped roles. Grant's more laid back and Phil can't wait to have a fight with someone.

I wanted to shake that roadsweeper bloke ( can't think of his name ) for getting bullied into going to Sonia's do. He only had to say he'd made other plans!! Not over keen on Martin but I did feel a bit sorry for him last night.

What happened about Ian and Jane trying for a baby? That was a main feature of the storyline at one time - Beale not telling her he'd had the chop. It all seems to have faded out now. I should think she's got enough kids on her hands without wanting one of her own anyway.

I hope Phil and Ben manage to get some spark of a relationship between them, if only to wipe the smirk off Ian's face.

Is Jake going to do away with himself? I felt sorry for him being misunderstood about his actions towards Ruby, but he's taking it to obsessive levels now and as he did kill Danny I presume he'll have to either die or get put away, to carry across the message that crime doesn't pay and you can't get away with murder for long.

I think when she joined the show they made her dowdy (hubby dying and all that), and she had quite severe short dark hair.

Now she has good highlights and a longer hair style. Her make up is lighter and she is wearing something other than those hideous jumpers she used to put on in the 'caff'.

Theyre not married yet Bon, just engaged.

As for Little Mo's storyline, yep its boring beyond belief, as is the Phil and Ben storyline which consists of : Ben getting upset/Phil worrying he aint a good daaaad/Phil being convinced to give it annuvvvaaaa go/Phil telling Ben a story about his childhood/Ben smiling sweetly and being friends with his dad again...

or

The Jane and Grant saga : Jane runs into Grant, laughably scorching looks are exchanged/Jane sees him on his own, they snog/Jane feels guilty and runs off/Jane runs into Grant again.......

Its like blummin Groundhog Day on the damn programme.

Its utter :pooh: at the moment.....

The storylines are very poor at the moment - but i am still enjoying the Grant and Jane thang.

Im looking forward to the day Ian realises that Jane has lost her heart to a Mitchell brother *snigger*

What do you think happened to Freddy? Was it Ben, or did Mo have a mental block? Any other theories?

Well over-protective mum, li'l Mo, was invited away for the weekend by the much too nicey doc and said she couldn't leave Freddaay. But then she changed her mind and Jane was supposed to be looking after him for a while, but Jane was more interested in talking to Grant on her mobile. Li'l Mo actually put Freddaay in his cot and he was apparently sleeping peacefully when she reluctantly left him.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, Mo and Doc had a slight car accident before they even got out of the Square and Mo took it as a sign that she shouldn't be going anywhere and should really be looking after Freddaay so she went back home and when she checked on him he wouldn't wake up so he was rushed to hospital and found to have some sort of bleed in the brain which they say was probably caused by a blow to the head.

Doc then tells Social Worker that Mo had been having sleepless nights and was very "fragile" and more or less hinted that she could possibly have harmed him.

So we really don't know what happened

I am sooooooooooooooo bored with this Sonia / Martin / Chloe thing. I almost nod off whenever they are on screen.

Im still loving the Grunt and Jane stuff, but the Ben and Phil storyline is snoresome as well.

And please - someone punch Little Mo on my behalf.

Why cant' soap opera weddings ever run smoothly?...just once would make a change. It just doesn't seem probable that wedding after wedding should involve some kind of incident.

I only saw two minutes of today's EE as i was flicking through but i saw enough to realize yet another tv soap wedding had gone ar*e-up!

What's this obsession with making things go terribly wrong all the time...eh?...drama?...ohhh!:bored:

I have to admit that im bored with Eastenders, and it really doesnt bother me if i miss it.

I dont give a stuff about Billy and Honey ... and how pathetic was the wedding (or lack of wedding).

And Sonia now snogging Gus .... give me a break, i thought she was a lesbian ?

They need some beefy storylines, and quick.

Im proud to say that I havent watched this in weeks. Its officially a bag of utter sh**e and this has been proved by their ratings going down to 3.4 million. Last year it was 10 million plus.

I guarantee that this time next year it will only be on either once a week or gone off our screens for good.

Lets face it, if Wendy Richard is deserting the sinking ship (and a very nice meal ticket for a crap actress thank you very much), things MUST be bad.

I have given up on it as well. We went on holiday in June and I haven't watched an episode since, not missed it all which proves it was only habit that kept me watching as if definitely wasn't good storylines.

I missed a few episodes in favour of watching BB live feed or BBLB and when I did happen to catch it the other day I thought I was on the wrong channel. There were people on it that I'd never seen before.

I saw a bit of "the wedding" and as Woody said, it was so predictable - everything going tits up as usual. There isn't one good storyline that makes me want to watch now.

By the way, what's that about Sonia kissing Gus? I missed that but can't say I'm sorry :D What's happened to Naomi?

People have been saying it was going down the pan for ages and I thought "naaah, not Eastenders" but I agree that it's become a load of old tosh (well it's always been a load of old tosh but it's worse tosh now than ever before).

Eastenders boss Kate Harwood wants wheeler dealer Frank Butcher back in the BBC1 soap.

The executive producer says: “Frank is EastEnders at its ripest and I’d love an excuse to bring him in again.”
