No one has mentioned David Cameron and the fact he is now the new Conservative leader.

So what do you all think of him ?

On a poll this morning on GMTV, based on the fact that no one knows a thing about him 55% of voters said they would rather he was PrimeMinister than Tony Blair.

Rather telling me thinks.

Did I read somewhere that he boasted about having a 'hideously privileged' background...or something like that.
That will be nice for him..............

I heard on the news yesterday he was the fifth cousin, once removed to the Queen, so I guess he has some links with royalty. He seems an ok guy. I want to hear more from him before I pass any judgement though. He claims he wants to be in touch with the real people. It always makes me laugh when I hear 'posh' people say that. Life is made so much easier for them. Yes I imagine they do have their struggles, but they don't have to worry about the menial things that cause stress for a lot of us. For instance, they don't worry about 6 to 18 months on a waiting list for an operation, or wonder whether their child will be accepted into their chosen choice of school. I'm going to sit back on this one and see how it goes.

I agree Tigger, and as for him being a people person - well of course he is going to say that, but as far as I am concerned like with all politicans, it's just another bit of lip service! But I am willing to give him time and let's see what he can come up with. I do think he will give the Blair/Brown machine a run for their money though.

He's young.

He's not a socialist.

He doesn't have Gordon Brown in his party.

He's got my vote!

He's not a socialist.

Means he can't count on my vote - mind you there aren't that many socialists in the Labour party!!

You must be chuffed to bits Rob with the extra one million state sector employees that the current socialist government has created to completely stifle the economy and prevent any chance of real economic growth?
