Space Cadets is basically just one big wind up... a con.
I'll admit to being a bit of a prankster myself - much to the annoyance of my family. Nothing major, just stupid things, like I'll phone someone up and pretend to be somebody else.
I do remember one instance though when I was part of a con, well more of blag really. I was in "the job" and a colleague was getting married. It was at the afternoon reception party which was exceptionally boring that myself and a friend decided we should find some better entertainment. Now the wedding party was near Margate in some dodgy pub and with not a lot in the immediate area we came up with the idea of going to France! So about nine of us sneaked out of boring party and bundled into the cars.... and off to Dover docks we went!
We got on a ferry dressed in all our bestest suits etc. We weren't getting off in France so stayed on board. During the journey we got a bit loud and attracted a lot of attention from fellow passengers in the bar. One guy came over and asked if we could quietten down a bit. I apologised and pointing to my mate, explained that we were just trying to cheer up the groom (he wasn't). I explained he had just been stood up at the altar. On cue, my friend starts crying! Well, the complaining guy was taken in, aplogised himself and offered to buy us a drink. Word soon got round the other passengers and complete strangers were coming up and asking if the groom was ok, buying drinks and saying "don't worry she wasn't worth it"!!
It amazed me that so many people were taken in by our story. In fact, even the steward in the bar put out an annoucement wishing the 'wedding party' luck for the future... or something along those lines, it was a few years ago now.
Have you ever done a wind up on someone? What is the best wind up you've heard about?
