View Full Version : Celebrity Fit Club 2006
Dolores 11-12-2005, 11:04 AM I see it's coming back to our screens early next year!
Good stuff.
I really like this programme and even though I've only heard of Anne Diamond and Russell Grant out of the celebs coming on, I still think it's worth a watch.
Oh there's also Carole Malone who does a column in The Mirror - she's a bit hard on some people so it will be nice to see her suffer.
Pandora 11-12-2005, 04:30 PM I found this......
Not sure who half of them are, but if Bobby George takes off all his bling, he would drop a stone in an instant !!! And I thought Anne Diamond had lost four stone and brought out a fitness DVD? She mustve piled it all back on again.... Oh and Jeff Rudom is over 7ft tall !!
TV presenter Anne Diamond is to go from Big Brother to Big Blubber by joining Celebrity Fit Club.
She is among eight scale-busting celebs who will battle the bulge over three months under the gaze of US fitness guru Harvey Walden, 38.
Anne, the former queen of breakfast telly, was tense and emotional in the celeb version of BB in 2002.
And one insider said: "I won't be surprised if there are tears if the regime gets too tough for her."
Anne, 51, the only star refusing to reveal her weight, will join podgy astrologer Russell Grant, former Hollyoaks star Mikyla Dodd and actor Jeff Rudom.
Also in the line up are This Morning TV expert and former People writer Sharon Marshall, darts ace Bobby George, former footballer Micky Quinn and journalist Carole Malone
MariaRob 14-12-2005, 02:40 PM I am surprised they are doing another series of this as I understood the viewing figures were well down on the last one. I hope they change the format a bit though and no blinking Ann Widdicome pontificating either!
Bonsai 14-12-2005, 03:51 PM [I]Anne, 51, the only star refusing to reveal her weight,
So how will this work then ???? I thought the best part of the show was seeing them weigh themselves at the beginning ... and seeing what they had lost over the following weeks. So she must have to reveal her weight !!!
Oh, and MariaRob, i totally agree with you about Ann Widdecomb

Yeh I think having Widders on last year was a big mistake (though I enjoyed her Lizzie Bardsley spats). She is so incredibly sanctamonious (sp?)....
Still at least we having got the giggling, screeching idiot that was Tina Baker on the show this year.... I couldve cheerfully pulled all her hair out.
msgirl 03-01-2006, 08:23 PM On the American version they've got Chasity Bono, Cher's daughter....she's quite plump!!! And Kelly LeBrock....she was married to Steven Segall, my eyes nearly popped out of thier socket!! She was so gorgeous and now....:shocking: I don't know who all is on yet, I just caught snippets.
MariaRob 04-01-2006, 02:51 PM And Kelly LeBrock....she was married to Steven Segall, my eyes nearly popped out of thier socket!! She was so gorgeous and now....:shocking: .
Wasnt she the Lady in Red?
Fee For All 04-01-2006, 06:07 PM ...and the 'Don't hate me because I'm beautiful' Pantene model....
getting rid of her upper lip should shed a fair few lbs

This looks much better than ours - it has one of the Cosby shows daughters and the guy who was Kenickie in Grease.
msgirl 05-01-2006, 01:55 AM Yeah, I've caught a few more of the commercials on MTV. Hubby is back at work tomorrow...I'll have custody of the remote for a few hours till I have to work!! Maybe I can see what's going on in the world!!
Dolores 05-01-2006, 08:13 AM I watched some of the US one last year. The people in it were 10x more obnoxious and up themselves than the Brits in our version ... much better to watch!
Although I didn't know who have of them were. One of them was a "Baldwin brother" ... not Mike! and he was incredibly arrogant.
Good ol' boy Harvey was still the same though ... you gotta love that guy!
But I'm looking forward to the Brit one starting. I always enjoy this programme although I think the ratings were down last year so I was surprised it was on again this year.
msgirl 05-01-2006, 03:01 PM That was Daniel Baldwin. He is slightly, hell, EXTREMELY off kilter!! They made him team captain and what a joy that was!! He's been found near dead, od'd, watching porn , in some hotel SEVERAL times. It's always the same: near death, drugs and alcohol, and porn on the tv.
Dolores 10-01-2006, 10:19 PM Did anyone else catch this programme?
I love it! i sat and watched it with a packet of crisps and a piece of Christmas cake!!

I watched tonight's show armed with some choccies still hanging around from Christmas.
Harvey would certainly yell at me.... :naughty:
I like the idea of a celebrity from a previous series appearing on the panel now.

Hello Dolores,
I like your thread. This programme was extremely enjoyable to watch.
Isn't weight though a sticky topic? I'm inhibited about my body and my weight and I'd never strip off for a photgraph for a magazine or tv programme, I'd be mortified to do it.
I do admit I must be around 14 stone 10, with all my christmas munching and excesses but it only looks like it when naked in front of a mirror. Otherwise when dressed you'd probably guess and say size 14/16 around 11 stone, and when dressed to sing for a concert most men think I'm slim. Anne diamond doesn't look 14 stone 10 lbs.
I also watched Supersized surgery tonight, which came from Britains only private hospital dedicated to fighting obesity.Dolan Park Worcestershire. Some of the cases are pretty bad, as in reality some of these people are lucky to be alive as a result of being overweight. Unfortunately these hospitals are a godsend, because surgery of this nature is not available on the NHS without it being imminently life threatening, an excessively long waiting list - during which the patient must be permanently losing weight, and then to have maintained a steady weight for 6 months; prior to surgery being undertaken. Some NHS consultants refuse to operate on people classed as clinically obese.
Two good programmes well worth watching and keeping up with.
Maureen
Northern angel.
MariaRob 11-01-2006, 03:27 PM I did watch this and thought it was OK, its the same old format though and how annoying is Russell (or Russo as Harvey seems to call him) Grant and how old does he look, they way he turned up for a outside workout in sandals and keeps "naughtily" answering Harvey back is already beginning to grate - what on earth is he doing there if he doesnt want to participate, the nerk.
bridge 14-01-2006, 10:28 AM i quite like this show, but keep forgetting to watch it! i don't think Bobby George needs to lose any weight after seeing him on the telly yesterday he looked alright to me.
maxine 14-01-2006, 11:09 AM i quite like this show, but keep forgetting to watch it! i don't think Bobby George needs to lose any weight after seeing him on the telly yesterday he looked alright to me.
Fancy him do ya? Huh? Huh?:naughty:
I enjoy it but just think they spend far too long on the weigh in and not enough on the regime.
I didn't know most of the 'celebs'.
Dolores 14-01-2006, 12:50 PM I was nonplussed when Adam Carey (isn't he just the nicest man on tv!) said that he was surprised that the red headed tv presenter was on the show at all and so would a lot people at home be.
Well I for one wasn't surprised she was there ... she could definitely do with losing a stone and didn't look all that fit to me ... especially in that awful dress!
thought Russell Grant was a prize chump! what a ... what a ..... oh someone please fill in for me what he is ... he's such a ...such a ....
i liked the fact that Amy was back as I'd always liked her on the other programme. she marches to her own tune and good for her i say! much better than Ms Widdicombe who was a bit scarey! wonder who the ex- fit club member will be next week.
Will it be Pandora's squeeze, John Fordingham, I wonder!! :naughty:
Dolores 18-01-2006, 10:30 PM is anyone else watching this?
There were two STAGGERING weight losses this week. One bloke lost 23lbs!!! yes 23lbs!!! ok he was seven foot tall and 32 stone to start with, but even so!
And Mickey Quinn - who has an adorable twinkle in his eye :naughty: - lost 15lbs!
I'm sure they will slow down, but even so it was an unbelievable effort!
Aldo Dildo was the guest panellist this week and what a jumped up little twerp he's turned out to be! a very superficial shallow man imo.
Harvey and Adam are as straightforward as ever.
Good show!
Patsy 19-01-2006, 12:50 PM I would question Aldo's advice to do an exercise routine in the morning before eating breakfast. If I did this, I'm sure I'd faint!
Bonsai 19-01-2006, 06:54 PM Aldo Dildo was the guest panellist this week and what a jumped up little twerp he's turned out to be! a very superficial shallow man imo.!
I agree with you there. I was shocked when Dale said "your looking good Aldo" and he said "yes, i know".
HOW BIG HEADED IT THAT :shocking:
Pandora 23-01-2006, 11:02 PM Will it be Pandora's squeeze, John Fordingham, I wonder!! :naughty:
John Forgeham actually :pimp: And if its him, I may have to pop up to the studios and set fire to those godawful leather trousers that he will no doubt be wearing.
What is Bobby George doing on the show? He looks normal weight and if he took off his bling would lose two stone immediately anyway.
And Russell Grant - Dolores I think the words you are looking for are :- stupid, prancing, idiotic, ******ing ***** with a coy, petulant, spoilt way about him that - in the words of Pete Burns - makes me wanna hurrrrrrrl chuuuunkkkks..........
Russell is and always has been a talentless p***k.
msgirl 24-01-2006, 03:33 AM Well, Fee, Jeff Conaway (the guy from 'Grease') had to leave the show and check into Rehab ASAP!! He was near death.....no joke! So now, Kelly 'Hot Lips' LeBrock is the NEW team captain and Gunner Nelson, one of Ricky Nelson's twin sons has taken Jeff C.'s place. (did you ever see 'Ozzie and Harriet'? And know about Ricky Nelson as a singer?? His plane blew up about 20 years ago in between concerts). Anyway, that's the Colonial update of CFC 2006.
bridge 24-01-2006, 10:24 AM Fancy him do ya? Huh? Huh?:naughty:
What? no of course not ,well maybe just a little. (now you are gonna think i have no taste.) Hee
bridge 24-01-2006, 10:26 AM I could'nt beleive my ears when some of the men lost a stone and a half in one week !!!!!!!!!! i can't even lose a bloody pound.:ranting:
Dolores 31-01-2006, 09:03 PM This week's "guest star" was Paul Ross ... what a jumped up little prick he is!
I thought the panel were quite tough on a couple of the contestants.
I actually think Carole did really well to go on a two week holiday to the Bahamas (or somewhere similar) and managed to stay the same! They should be patting her on the back for it!
Also the nerve that Paul Ross had to say to Mickey Quinn  that he might loose stamina on the diet like he did in his football game!
And so Anne Diamond loses her team captainship! Good! She stropped off that field like a spoilt 51 year old! She should have stayed on and kept doing her best, she obviously doesn't like to play games she can't win ... not a team player. Hope the big fella takes over as team captain and injects his "American winning ethos" into the team ... could be worth watching!
Pandora 01-02-2006, 09:10 AM I loathe Paul Ross with a passion that can only be imagined. :mad2:
Bonsai 01-02-2006, 10:58 AM Paul Ross did come across badly didnt he. I havent liked any of the 'guest' presenters this year. This could be because ive never liked any of the contestants either ... until now.
I love Carole Malone. I have read a few of her columns and they make me laugh - but i think she is witty, a good sport and very pretty. I asked Mr.B last night if he thought she was pretty and he said "no, you have a very strange opinion of what is pretty and what isnt" So that told me.
Its a shame so many of the contestants didnt loose weight - but none of them gained did they - so well done to them. They have all lost weight, and are all looking good.
Anne Diamond is a stroppy mare isnt she. I wouldnt of liked to do the assualt course thing either, but she must have seen the other programs so would of know what was expected of her.
maxine 01-02-2006, 12:27 PM I thought Paul Ross was really mean to the american guy - 'loud, obnoxious and american'. How rude.

me too! from the clips i've seen that big fella hasn't come across as being loud and obnoxious at all, just quite competive.
Paul Ross is a ****** and if anyone is loud and obnoxious it's him ... oh and add talentless to that list as well! :mad2:

Bonsai 06-02-2006, 12:45 PM I have just read that Anne Diamond is reduced to tears on wednesday as she is confronted about her large weight loss, and she confesses that she had a gastric op just after signing up to the programme.
Apparently before the show began all contestants are asked if they have had any sort of operation that could help with their weight loss. If they had, then they wouldnt be allowed to participate as they should all start from the same place and shouldnt have any 'help'.
She is being allowed to stay in the show - but apparently her fellow contestants are non too happy.
Seabreeze 06-02-2006, 04:48 PM Saw all this on the news this morning. Really looking forward to tonights show now.

Anne should'nt have had a paddy like that, she needs to chill out! would'nt it be funny if they had the American guy as team captain? as it seems no-one likes him very much.
Bonsai 06-02-2006, 07:15 PM I cant believe that this 'confession' has made the national 6 O'clock news :shocking: It must have been a tad quiet on the big story front today !!

Got to agree about it having to have been a bit quiet for that to hit the news - lol. It was very low of her not to admit to having had the surgery though. She must have known the truth would out eventually.
Btw - got to stick up for Paul Ross here. I don't know about now but he and Carol McGiffin used to do an early morning radio show on what was then TalkUK (now TalkSport) and it was when I was going through really serious bad depression. They were so good together, so funny, that they could even make me laugh and there wasn't much that could in that dark time.
I know its a bit off topic but I wanted to put in a good word for him :)
Bonsai 06-02-2006, 07:49 PM Saw all this on the news this morning. Really looking forward to tonights show now.
You got me all excited when i read this (I know, i live a dull life) and was really looking forward to the show. I even planned a grill up - healthier than a fry up as i like to have something fattening whilst watching them suffer.
Then i looked in the TV times .... and it isnt on till tomorrow
Dolores 08-02-2006, 07:59 AM So Annie's been outed!
I thought the others handled it very well and honestly. But I was annoyed with Mykyla who was quite aggressively pro-Anne, not quite so sure she would have been so supportive if it had been Jeff who'd had a stomach band fitted.
I feel sorry for Anne, the woman is obviously desparate, but I agree with Carole, it is disingenious not to have declared it, if only privately to the doctor so he knew what he was dealing with.
How I laughed at Mickey Quinn  when he said "you haven't got an advantage as it's obviously not working!!!"
I was glad that Harvey put Jeff in charge of Anne's team and sniggered when Mykyla got huffy and stormed off, she obviously thought she was gonna be the team captain! whoops! Harvey you deevil!!
I enjoyed last night's episode, it was great to see Alison again ... she always seems like such a damn nice lady ... I would like to see more of Alison on our screens.
Dolores 08-02-2006, 08:03 AM I have just read that Anne Diamond is reduced to tears on wednesday as she is confronted about her large weight loss, and she confesses that she had a gastric op just after signing up to the programme.
she's not having large weight losses though is she! I think she lost the least this week - 1 lb. (still better off than on).
I think they are all doing well and seem very committed unlike in some previous years when we've had too many egos flying about.
heck ... I'm even warming to Russell Grant!

No she isnt having a large weight loss. I was on the side of Carole Malone. I thought she handled it well, even when Anne burst into tears. Anne could of had a tremendous advantage - and weight loss aside ... did the fact that she hurt herself when exercising be a side effect of the op ??? If so, she should of declared it as she may have had to do light exercise as per doctors instructions - and the hard exercise she is doing could of been detremental to her health.
Carole was on GMTV this morning, and a lot of viewers were angry at the way she spoke to Anne, but she stayed adamant that Anne should of come clean. She said that one of Annes argurments was that she might not see her children grow up being the size she is. Carole said that, had a doctor said that to her, she wouldnt need surgery. She would diet religiously until the weight went down.
Carole also said that the reason she was angry was because all the other team mates sweated, dieted and basically did everything they should to loose weight. Whereas what 'could' of happened was that Anne could of eaten a small amount of anything she liked with no exercise and STILL have lost a tremendous amount of weight. She didnt think it was fair, and she didnt think that Anne would of confessed. She only came clean as someone snitched her up.

I totally agree. I only watched it last night for the argument and then it ended very abruptly! Anne turned on the waterworks and used the "I want to see my kids grow up" sob story, er arnt her boys already grown? Anne is a cheat and should have been thrown off the show.
I like Amanda and think she could be quite stunning if she toned down that bright red hair. I think Harvey likes her too!!!
Dolores 28-02-2006, 08:03 AM don't forget this is on again tonight.
let's see if Anne's "band thingy" has helped her loose oodles of weight shall we!
Bonsai 28-02-2006, 09:17 AM It showed a clip of this on GMTV this morning, and the teams were all sat on the scales and Carole and Anne were still having a 'heated debate' about the weight loss.
jaycee 28-02-2006, 02:25 PM I've only seen a couple of this series cos I normally go out on a Tuesday but am a bit fed up of all the 'controversy'.
Yes Anne Diamond lied about having had surgery but I don't see really how that has affected anyone else. From what I can remember about the other series, this isn't really a competition..............I know there is the team weigh in thing at the end but does the winning team get a prize? I can't remember.
It seems to me that the people who have the right to be aggrieved are the programme makers & they have chosen to keep her in.
She's obviously got issues...........I don't think she should be on the programme anymore, not cos of the gastric band thing but because I think she needs to see a professional in private...........
the one thing that does make me annoyed is the supposed 6 figure book deal she's been reported to have got..............surely she can't write a book about losing weight when she has resorted to surgery.
MariaRob 28-02-2006, 03:25 PM the one thing that does make me annoyed is the supposed 6 figure book deal she's been reported to have got
What's the book about Jaycee? Cant be a diet book surely? The thing is if you lose a lot of weight and then put it back on again you are going to be bigger than you were before. I am not really interested in Anne and her "issues" she had her heydey in the 80s and was quick to sneer at others, what goes round comes around!!!

I agree MariaRob. Apparently Anne HAS landed a diet book deal, which makes no bloody sense whatsoever.
I find her deeply unpleasant, and the smirk on her face dropped off pretty sharpish tonight when James pompous Whittaker decided to have a go at her. She glared across at him with eyes like headlamps.
In my opinion, she IS cheating. Its a bit like me challenging you to do the 100 metres, you training for three months and then me starting off half way down the track. If you have an unfair advantage in anything, and dont come clean about it before being forced to then you are being dishonest.
All that self pitying shiite about, "I even wrote letters to my boys (sniffle)" was simply to divert the topic away from what was being discussed. The fact that when the producers asked them all, "have you recently had surgery" (mainly for h&s reasons than anything), they all answered no, including Anne Diamond.
Anyway, if I were her, Id get my bloody money back; she must be the only person Ive seen, fitted with a gastric band, six months on, who is still fat !
Cant stand the woman. Get her off the telly.
Northern angel 01-03-2006, 01:10 AM I have given this a really odd title. I have been a yo-yo dieter. And yes, I know I know I can lose weight, if I really want to. Whenever I have dieted the weight I have lost, slowly creeps back on. Keeping the weight off is a problem. However, I have accomodated for this part of my nature by ensuring that I keep two wardrobes one for when I am two sizes smaller and the other for when I am large.I have done this for years. My outward personna though is positive and happy.
Anne, I think has a problem with her inner self, she lacks confidence and has a low self esteem. Its not just that life has treated her badly - life treats a lot of us badly, but some of us have the inner will power and strength to do something about it. Anne is also in denial about the inner being she has become. I suspect if the truth were known - not just about the fitting of a gastric band that maybe she has sought help for depression.
Anne should be handled with kid gloves. The gastric band was obviously a desperate measure, and the fitting of such has yet to prove itself in the world of medicine as being a useful aid to reducing obesity. In most cases it is failing and patients would be better off seeking hypnosis. The root cause of obesity lies in the mindset of the individual.

Welcome back Pandora! Have you been away? Thought of you yesterday as they had Linda Robson on the tele doing some Green thing and I know you said you lived near her!!!
I thought James Snotbag Whittaker was a right prat yesterday telling the darts player to drink champagne, just like let them eat cake! He quickly got taken down a peg or two tho. I really enjoyed this last night and think its much better being shown every 3 weeks instead of weekly as it becomes boring.
Dolores 01-03-2006, 12:39 PM What I don't understand about Anne is how she's been allowed to continue with the programme since her band thingy has been revealed. Surely she's not entered into the show in the correct frame of mind.
I also don't understand why some of her team-mates aren't annoyed with her, why is all the griping left up to Carole's team?
I have to say if I was on the programme and losing weight as well as say Carole and that Hollyoaks actresses I wouldn't care less what Anne was doing. I'd say she's made her bed let her lie in it. I was quite shocked at the diatribe coming out of Anne's mouth though, all the excuses as to why she'd only lost a pound!!!! A pound for goodness sake ... a good dump before the weigh in would have taken a pound off (or are my dumps larger than average :pooh: :pooh: ?!)
I can't stand Bobby George ... he really gets on my nerves! If you're looking for someone who is insecure just look at Bobby and the obsence amount of jewellery he wears ... yuk! what is he hiding from?
Still think that Mickey Quinn is  , but thought he looked a bit haggard round the face last night!!
Well done to the big guy too ... although I can never quite work out why he wears a kilt!
Thoroughly enjoying the show. We have a week off next week and I agree Maria I prefer it to be on intermittently rather than every week.
Bonsai 01-03-2006, 12:57 PM I was quite shocked at the diatribe coming out of Anne's mouth though, all the excuses as to why she'd only lost a pound!!!! A pound for goodness sake ... a good dump before the weigh in would have taken a pound off (or are my dumps larger than average :pooh: :pooh: ?!)
This is the bit that i found weird. I dont think Anne tried in the slighest for fear of loosing a lot of weight and being yelled at. I mean, if after three weeks she had of lost 8Ibs everyone would of yelled 'CHEAT' and she would probably of been asked to leave the show.
So i think she stuffed her face senseless just so she wouldnt loose any weight.
I personally would of kicked her off the show. Even Harvey was peed off with her !!
Bonsai 06-03-2006, 04:24 PM Anne has officially left the show now i think.
Bella 06-03-2006, 04:42 PM I don't really watch this programme but you can't help escape what has gone on with Anne and her rubber band.
I do think that she needs more help than just losing weight, I have no doubt she loves her boys deeply but I think when you have a family going on a celeb reality TV show when your mind isn't quite there is the wrong thing to do.
She has been on quite a few reality TV shows and I would wonder why she needs to do that.
I do think the others were quite harsh and I can't stand that Carol woman anyway.
Although it was noted that a few of the celebs actually piled on the pounds so that they could be on the show.............so talk about double standards eh?
Pandora 07-03-2006, 02:07 PM Welcome back Pandora!
Thanks for the welcome MariaRob. Im on here intermittently at the moment as my sister is having her last bout of chemo and so Im helping out with the children, housework etc. I will be back on a full time basis again late spring.
I agree about James Whittaker - what an **** he is, I cringed every time he opened his mouth on the last programme. He offered no real words of support at all.
I can't stand Bobby George ... he really gets on my nerves! If you're looking for someone who is insecure just look at Bobby and the obsence amount of jewellery he wears ... yuk! what is he hiding from?
Oooh Dol, I agree, Bobby George makes my skin crawl. He is the long lost brother of John Forgeham IMO !!! Anyway, if he took all of that disgusting jewellery off, he'd lose a stone straight away !
Anne has officially left the show now i think. Yes she has Bonsai. No doubt blaming the other contestants for her plight and saying it was a witchhunt/bullying. All Ive seen so far, when the other contestants voiced their feelings re her cheating (for that is what it was), is eye rolling, deep sighing, aggressiveness, defensiveness and a general determination not to take any blame.
To be honest, rather than take part in a weight loss programme, I think Anne Diamond is in dire need of having a few stone shaved off that mega ego of hers.
bridge 08-03-2006, 08:45 PM can anyone tell me if this has started back yet, i have been waiting for weeks! which channel is it on and what time please? Thanks.:wink_kiss
Dolores 08-03-2006, 11:17 PM can anyone tell me if this has started back yet, i have been waiting for weeks! which channel is it on and what time please? Thanks.:wink_kiss
it's on again next Tuesday bridge on ITV1 at 8pm.
It was shown a fortnight ago but previous to that there was a three week break. I think they've got a few more shows to go after next weeks, but not totally sure of what the schedule is.

Hello Bridge,
Celebrity fit club, has one more week to run. Lowri Turner was the returning member Tuesday night. Harvey is going to participate in the Team Anne Diamond has left, in a sporting event challenge that has apparently been sold out.
I feel the team let Anne Diamond down, she obviously needed help and didn't get it. So couldn't take the slamming each week and decided to go. Very sad this, because weight is one of those things which arrives without any mercy - because you comfort eat, when something else is wrong. Annes confidence is obviously at an all time low and depression lies at the root of Annes problem and none of the so called experts were able to spot it. Instead her increased levels of sensitivity were dealt an emotional blow she could not withstand.
I would hazard a strong prediction that this stomach band will not work in the immediate future, for the very reason it was fitted, because other problems in her life need addressing first. Research also shows that they only work in approximately 40% of cases to control food intake. So its a desperate act seeking attention which has cost her approximately 7,000.00 pounds, its a bit like the many who attempt suicide for the attention they seek. Rather than truly intending to die as a result.
In the sporting challenge which is sold out, Harvey has indicated he will take on two of the challenges in Annes place.
Maureen

MariaRob 15-03-2006, 10:21 AM I feel the team let Anne Diamond down, .
Sorry Northern Angel, I feel its was Anne that let the team down not the other way around.
Bonsai 15-03-2006, 10:49 AM I too think it was Anne who let her team down.
She was asked catagorically at the beginning of the show if she / they had had any work done on themselves. She said no. Im sure if she had come clean they would of accomodated her.
Instead she could barely do any of the exercises and wandered off in a huff when she found it hard going. She was surly and permanently cheesed off.
On the show last night it showed her walking off of the exercise field, and being narky with the woman and the red jacket.
I think she needs help - and she needs therapy.
I know Carole Malone was heavy handed, BUT for all they knew Anne could of lost an awful lot of weight without trying due to this gastric band. As it turned out she didnt loose anything really - but they didnt know this would be the case. The others sweated, slogged and dieted - while she could of sat on here ar*se eating cream cakes and STILL of lost weight.
I too would of thought it was unfair.
Minklemar 15-03-2006, 12:06 PM I agree with MariaRob and Bonsai.
I think that Anne Diamond let the other participants down, she let the people who were trying to help her down and most of all she let herself down.
She didn't join in with the physical activites, she was surly and she's full of excuses - good riddance!
Pandora 15-03-2006, 05:11 PM I agree with MariaRob and Bonsai.

Sorry Northern Angel you are wrong. I agree with Minks and co. Anne was dishonest from the start and defensive and arrogant when challenged about this.
As Minks said, her ego got in the way of her exercising. When agreeing to go onto a programme like this, you have to suspend all ego and do as you are told by the instructor(s). Anne couldnt handle this and made excuses nearly every time things got tough.
You say that depression lies at the root of Anne's problem - that maybe the truth, who knows? but I would say that Anne's arrogance is also one of her biggest problems and she ought to get that sorted too.
Im amazed at how well the celebs have done this year (particularly the men, whose appearance has changed so much).
One thing though - I know its good to have self confidence, but since WHEN has Lowri Turner ever been a babe???? :ninja: Deluded doesnt even come close....
Seabreeze 15-03-2006, 05:31 PM I had to laugh when Russell said he had 5lbs of muscle as he was sitting on the swing with his legs apart and Dale said "Yes and I can see it all from here".
Critique 15-03-2006, 05:39 PM What a stupid dress Lowri was wearing - most of the time she looked naked :)
I did laugh when they were supposed to be doing the mind and body thing. They obviously thought it was a load of balderdash. They all had the giggles and the poor instructor was getting quite upset.

That made me chuckle too! I didn't have an opinion about Russel Grant before this....but since he's been on this show I've grown to quite like him.
Pandora 16-03-2006, 06:51 PM That made me chuckle too! I didn't have an opinion about Russel Grant before this....but since he's been on this show I've grown to quite like him.
I have to say that although his campness makes me cringe sometimes, he does have a nice line in self deprecating humour and seems a thoroughly nice man.
Harvey's face though, everytime Russell camps it up, is a picture..... :ninja:
borneobabe 17-03-2006, 12:19 AM I too am finding Russell Grant a tonic. He has a great sense of fun and Dale's muscle comment was pure camp banter.. the pair of them should get together afterwards and form a double act. The entire Anne Diamond debacle should have begun and ended on the day the production crew came in to inform the other contestants that Anne had been discovered to have had a gastric band fitted, because his announcent should have simply ended with him saying she has therefore been asked to leave the show. No debates.. no rows... no nothing. She lied plain and simple and should not have been allowed continue for one further moment. She would have saved herself a lot of the bad press she encountered and brought on herself totally. Its a shame really because she does strike me as a woman desperately in need of self confidence and self worth, and cheating your way onto a diet show hardly seems the best way to start acheiving those goals. I dont know how they decide in the end who wins the show.. is it most weight lost? If so Jeff would seem the winner.. however I think Mick is the one who should win. He has been fantastic every week and deserves it.
MariaRob 17-03-2006, 10:38 AM Ia woman desperately in need of self confidence and self worth,.
Hm, you obviously didnt see her in her 80's heyday when she was a cocky little madam, extremely full of herself and very quick to sneer at others - oh how the mighty have fallen!!!
bridge 17-03-2006, 11:00 AM Why did Anne quit like that? silly mare. i did'nt take her for a quitter. I like the girl with the skull dress (still can't remember her name) she is fun, Russell has me in stitches with his one liners, i know this is like a really stupid question but is Russell actually gay?

Yes Russell is out of the closet and had a boyfriend for years. He doesnt mention him these days, so Im thinking they're not together anymore?

Hear hear, MariaRob! She was utterly vile and hasnt changed a bit.
Bonsai 11-04-2006, 02:49 PM Dont forget - its the final tonight ... but its on for 1.5hrs !! I dont think i can watch it for that long :wink2:
Dolores 11-04-2006, 04:36 PM Dont forget - its the final tonight ... but its on for 1.5hrs !! I dont think i can watch it for that long :wink2:
thanks for the reminder Bonnie.
I shall be watching it, even if it's just to watch Mickey Quinn getting all hot and sweaty!
Bonsai 12-04-2006, 08:33 AM Did anyone watch this ?
I thought Carole was sneaky at the end saying she didnt want to run the race as she couldnt run quick and wanted the reserve (who was leaner and faster) to take her place. She then told the 'official' she had hurt her leg which is why she couldnt run.
They did win the race - but the trophy was taken off them as Mickey Quinn threw his batton too soon.
They all looked fabulous - and i do think Carole is very attractive. She has good teeth.
Critique 12-04-2006, 09:07 AM I watched most of it last night, even though I haven't watched every program avidly. It was good seeing the changes in them. Poor old Russell didn't look any different to me. He's still grossly overweight for his height.
I thought that was a bit mean about the baton throwing thing - it's not like it was the Olympics. Still, I suppose it was fair in view of the "bad leg" incident.
I thought the other team were going to give the cup back but I suppose sharing was a good compromise.
Couldn't help wondering how Anne Diamond would have got on if it hadn't been for the operation thingy and she'd stayed the course.
I wish I had Harvey on my back :naughty: to keep me on the straight and narrow. He looked different last night - couldn't put my finger on how/why - wondered if he'd been at the Botox or something?
Bonsai 12-04-2006, 09:14 AM He looked different last night - couldn't put my finger on how/why - wondered if he'd been at the Botox or something?
He was smiling more last night - and he looks kinda sexy when he smiles :naughty:
Critique 12-04-2006, 09:21 AM He was smiling more last night - and he looks kinda sexy when he smiles :naughty:
He looks kinda sexy when he's growling at them - heck let's face it - he's just sexy :naughty:
MariaRob 12-04-2006, 09:37 AM I caught the last half of this and thought Sharon looked fabulous, she has really lost weight and the dreadful cocoa the clown red hair has gone. I also didnt think Russell looked any different, I also cannot understand why people (and himself) think he's amusing, I think he is a total fool.
I thought it was very unfair to award the cup and then take it back, couldn't they have viewed the footage before it was awarded? As for Anne Diamond, she has been completely forgotton.
I fell asleep after teh last break so didn't see the race or who was awarded best slimmer or whatever it is.So can anyone tell me who won the overall show? BTW what I did see of the games was naff, was Harvery putting it on jumping just 4 meters?
Dolores 14-04-2006, 11:55 AM Mickey Quinn won the overall prize, Bob. he lost a staggering 25% of his original body weight!
I rather enjoyed the extended programme. Although Carole looked fabulous I felt she was very underhand for not running the relay race, saying her knee was hurting her, still they lost anyway when dopey Mickey through the baton over the line before he reached it! d'oh!
I thought Jeff looked very sour at not winning the games and also for not being on the winning side weightloss wise ... he could barely look anyone in the eye.
Harvey in "real life" on the trackside was a revelation ... hey was he actually enjoying himself and smiling despite himself? or was he breaking wind?!
This lot all did really well, shame Annie let everyone including herself down, but hey ho! it provided a bit of drama and gave the diva a few column inches so no real harm done.
i was also glad they didn't have a "charlatan" soothe sayer on the panel this year ... I liked seeing the old faces from the last shows, especially the delightful Alison ... give that lady more tv work I say!
I hope they do it again next year ... although I'm getting a bit fed up with Dale's cheesy style of sycophancy towards the celebs.
Dol which one is Alison? Don't recall.
I really warmed to Harvey this series but I think more than any other series the contestants (bar Anne) gave it there all so he was a happy bunny much earlier on. Last year Aimee came good in the end but it was hard work and a lot of friction same with Anne W from the year before last.
harvey had a good bunch this year (in terms of their efforts) but bit boring personality wise.
I really hope that when Sayid gets fired from the apprentice he puts on 15 stone and ends up on CF club next year and comes chin to chin with Harvey :naughty:
Seabreeze 14-04-2006, 12:35 PM I actually felt a bit sorry for Jeff because I think he`s put in a great effort all the way through. I liked the way he said the cup was for both teams at the end. To be honest if it had been the other way round I couldn`t see Carole being so sharing. Russell has a great sense of humour although when he lifted his shirt and showed his backside and said "does my bum look big in this" I still shouted yes :bag:
maxine 17-04-2006, 05:02 PM Dol which one is Alison? Don't recall.
Alison is the black girl who was on BB a couple of years back. She does a spot on 'This Morning' I think.
Pandora 18-04-2006, 07:08 AM Yes I like Alison too, she should be given a permanent spot.
Russell Grant reminds me a bit of Jono Coleman (similar build too). Jono lost five stone and didnt look any different! I felt so bad for him. Ditto with Russell... Maybe its because they are so small.
I cant quite see the point of having Dale Winton on the show actually, all he does is glow orangely from the sidelines and bat his mascaraed eyelashes at the men...
MariaRob 03-05-2006, 02:28 PM Had Dr Adam on tele this morning and he confirmed that they won't be making any more Celeb Fit Clubs. Shame really as I enjoyed the last one but I suppose they are running out of fat slebs.
