I am now a Grandma.:wub:

My new grandson was born on Wednesday the 7th December, and his name is Alexander Charles Edward [ACE name, ACE baby!!].:wub:

We all trooped down to London yesterday on the train for the day to spend with my stepson, wife and my new baby!!

HE IS FABULOUS - not in the least bit ugly, like we all expected, as Ben was a bit of a monster.

I think it was because he was 16 days late - he is like a proper baby shape, colour and wrinklefreeness!!

I am going to try and make a concious effort not to harp on about Alex - although I didn't make a good start on the train at 6am - I told the ticket collector, the trolley man and the man in the buffet car, oh and I think I mentioned it to the ticket office lady in Kings Cross when I went to upgrade our tickets for the return.:laugh:

So to all other grandparents out there - it is great isn't it????

Awww Congratulations Flip. It's great being a grandma isn't it. You carry on telling everyone cos I talk about my grandkids all the time ;) Any pics?

Enjoy your wee bundle and I hope you get to see as much of him as possible. Did you get to change his nappy? I'm usually straight in with my nieces and nephews. Early bonding. :thumbsup:

Granny's are funny things though aren't they!

I mean they (and grandads) most be one of the most unfairly typecast groups in society.

These days Granny's aren't grey haired old ladies who knit, smell of wee and go to jumble sales are they ... at least not all at the same time!

My granny was never a fuddy duddy and until she was in her late 80's bought clothes in Dorothy Perkins! She used to buy the mini skirts cos she was so small that they fitted just below her knee!

Granny Flip - it does have a rather nice ring to it! Aww, congrats to you & Grandad Flip! And your boys will just be the perfct uncles!

And I agree with Dol, we need piccies to brood, ooh & ahh over!

Thank you all for your lovely words - funnily enough I don't feel old, and I just feel very proud and elated. I know Ben is technically not my son - but he might as well be. He is just a great and doting Dad and we are very smiley and happy people at the moment.

Me and all the Grandmas have discussed this [ie Ben's Mum and El's Mum and me step Mum] and we have all decided we are going to be Grandma .... [insert name] - so I am to be Grandma Suzi! MR F doesn't want to be Grandpa, he wants to be Grandad.
