Hello survivors,

Just a brief note. Over the last few weeks I have observed a number of you like writing, poetry, prose, and I am certain I have read that someone enjoyed writing short stories - maybe with a view to having something published. I do know some of the members are students who have to do assignments etc.

In view of this writers note, every year the BBC search for young writers plus a whole host of other people. At the beginning of the year they print out a leaflet listing all they are searching for in the coming year, this leaflet can be sent to your home address or at a later date is available to pick up from large retailers such as WH Smith or Woolworths.

So if anyone is interested in really having a go, tap into there Website and see what they recommend you to do next. www.bbc.co.uk

Good luck.

Hello Coastie,

Forgive me, I have been a bit slow in replying. I am engrossed with what some would consider a boring subject on fat cat bonuses in the soapbox forum.

I have decided to take a quick check on my posts, and I have found you. As always an inspiration to read. So good luck with your play and the BBC, I have always found them to be the most helpful, my play ended up on radio and indeed I did some radio work way back at the end of 2003 in addition to that- I found the whole experience completely new invigorating and exciting.

I think, had I taken the BBC advice to put in a Budget plan, to have costed it out - my play may have hit the television screen. Still, I have kept the original and may revise it at some point for publication. For the boring old educational press, I'm afraid. The play covered the real lives of historically recorded African American slaves during the antebelium period immediately after the American civil war, and came forward into modern times for a spot check on the injustices of the American judicial system in cases of racial hatred and killings made by the Ku klux clan.

So goodluck again with your play.
