Unfortunately my Santa's little helpers have turned in to 'Kevins' so there is no chance of that

I had to go to the Doc and get a shot for a sinus/ear infection and while they were filling my scripts at the pharmacy I snuck over and got me a cool pair of drop earrings with green stones in them (I LOVE GREEN). They look antique-y and they are lever back which is my fave kind of earring a)b/c I can't lose them as easily and b)I think they look so classy. They were only $6 and a few cents tax...don't know what that is in pound sterling. I love them and can't wait to wear them!!! When I feel better, I may look some more.

I am with Ils on this, I hate shopping at the best of times unless I am going for something specific, I just don't bother and I find the sales just way too horrendous to even contemplate! I cannot understand those nutters who camp out overnight for the Next sale. Mad, totally aff their heids!!:shocking:

I don't do CROWDS at all, that's why I'm shopping at 2am a lot of times from after Thanksgiving til Christmas Eve. The store I went in today was so calm and shy of hardly any people except this 12yr old girl and her 7-8ish yr old brother who were proceeding to clamor in and out and under the clothes racks while the mom just stood there...hence only the earrings. I was already feeling like shhhhhsh....and didn't want to get arrested correcting someone else's children. Mine wouldn't have considered doing this and if they had lost thier mind temporarily and did it, they'd have been beaten* and punished!!!

*Not beaten-beaten, just a good couple of swats on the backside!!

unfortunately for me i have been working everyday since xmas!! and everyday since xmas it has been mobbed!! crazy people who leave things on the floor, knock over rails and ignore it, try everything but the kitchen sink on and then buy nothing. sales suck when you work but hey at least it keeps me occupied. nothing worse than being bored at work. and we took a phenomenal amount of money boxing day and the 27th which looks good for a bonus this year!! whoo hoo!!

and these crazy people were up queing outside my work on boxing day, blocking the doors so us workers cant get in, then shoot us dirty looks coz we're getting in before them!! come on that was 8.30am on boxing day!! if i wasnt working i'd be in bed sleeping then making myself sick on more chocolates whilst watching my new dvds.

the same happened yesterday but it was markies that had the queue outside, what a bunch of sad f.ucks. and that was at 7.45am!! and i was due to start at 8 so on impulse coz i was still sleepy and because it was so cold i took refuge in the nearest shopping centre i bought 2 jumpers and a pair of tights, from markies coz it was the only shop open. in hindsight i wish i hadnt and will return one jumper. it was too early i wasnt thinking straight.

Ooh Kooks, don't envy you working on sales day.
As for me, I have nothing, can't be bothered with all the queueing and hassle of going shopping. I'm shattered enough as it is, without having to fight people over getting into shops.
Oh and the fact that I'm skint has nothing at all to do with it:wink2:

I bought an afghan coat in a heart charity shop sale this morning. £12. Yippee! I wanted one with all my heart when I was 15 but my mum wouldn't let me have one. Ha!:kid:

Absolutely nothing at all and that is the way it shall stay. I can;t think of anyhwere I would rather be less than shopping at sales.

And for the life of me I cannot understand these crazed lunatics that get up at 3am to go to friggin Next to get 25% of something that couldn't have reallywanted in the first place or they would have happily paid full price for it!

Nothing. There's only one thing I hate more than shopping, and that's shopping in the sales. I can't understand these people who camp outside Next for half the night to buy some crap top with 'Next' or '1982' written on it that's still overpriced.

I totally agree. I went to the Next sale once in London. I went in my lunch hour though ... no some ungodly time - and the stuff they were selling was cr*p. They literally brought in all the rubbish that they hadnt been able to sell over the last 10 years, and stuck it on the rails. I wouldnt have parted with one brass farthing.

My parents go religiously to the sales, and they love Next. They mainly go for the smellies though ... which i receive the following year for Xmas.

The one thing i would of liked in the sales is a new Dyson hoover ..... but alas - im skint.

Aforementioned wrong-for-several-reasons blouse from Mr P was exchanged for a suede waistcoat (down from £25 to £20) and a rather nice necklace and earring combo from Wallis.

I'm another "Hates Shopping whatever, whenever and whyever" type of person!

I did go out for a drive in the car today with my mum and dad and my son to get used to driving on the motorway (it's been a long time since I've driven on Motorways) anyway we decided to drive up to Hedge End which apparently has a mega Marks and Sparks amongst other mega store places. My mother who LOVES shopping was positively drooling at the mouth as we drove passed ... I had no intention of going in ... I don't think I was too popular!!

I know, I know, but I forgot it was a bank holiday and by the time we realised (sitting in a traffic jam on the A13) it was too late to turn back.

Imagine it with a double buggy too

Ooh me and my friend used to compare our double buggies.
We both had a "one in front of the other", mine was quite a heavy one, very good at nipping ankles, but not as good as a side by side one for the range of nips.

We have a one in front of the other one, very impressive turning circle mind you.

Can't stand those side by side ones, no good for the surprise ankle attack, and usless at getting in the narrow aisles in Monsoon.

I had a side by side job. Only used it twice, was too heavy to push so I made the little ****** get out and walk! Looking back may have been a tad harsh as he was only 2 and 1/2.

I havent 'been' to the sales, but i did buy one item for my Dads birthday which comes up very soon.

I was in Tescos, and they had these beautiful pots with an amarylis (sp) bulb in. The pots are mirrored mosaic (god, all these complicated words) and very nice. He will love it. It was reduced from £9 to £5.

Yesterday i went to buy some of my fav scented candles, but alas they werent in the sale. I bought 3 anyway.

I normally love the sales but I haven't really felt well enough to brave them and didn't need anything badly enough to make me battle with the crowds.

However, armed with £20 in my purse and thinking that going out would probably kill me off, I put on my thickest winter clothing and accompanied Mr. C to the Wednesday car boot sale at Hayling Island, right on the seafront (Brrrrr!).

I'm glad I went though. I got a lovely thick grey cardigan with fur collar and cuffs for £3, a pair of nearly new Jeans for Grandson for £1, a jar of Olay Revitalift night cream (saw it in a magazine yesterday £18.99 in Boots) for £10 (brand new in packaging of course). Also a nifty Birthday Card folder for 50p. It's like a Photograph Album but has each month with a place for the birthdays and a pocket behind to hold the cards. I've tried everywhere to get one in the shops since I saw the one that came from the USA that my brother's wife got from a visiting relative. They're as rare as rocking horse poo so I was quite triumphant to find one for 50p.

So although it wasn't strictly "the Sales" I'm well happy and got change out of my £20 too :)

good shopping crit.

I'm another comitted shopping hater - LOATH it and can't undertand retail therapy at all at all - but found meself in our local mall today and it seemed quite human and normal so took meself around a few of the shops and bought:

NEW TRAINERS!! YAY!!!!!. sorry. been waiting a YEAR to replace the auld smelly ones but refused to pay over a hundred for a pair of air nikes. Saw a pair, size five, in blue and silver for e45 and pounced like a woman possessed on them....... they are the fekkin' bizzo........

4 canvasses for acrylics [got a mega easel for crimbo and only have boards so far]

pair of black furry boots for e22 - very snug - like outdoor slippers

and a fiction paperback reduced to e5.

happy bunny.

Went to Sainsburys to do a bit of food shopping and got a couple of things in the sale.

A ninja turtles/lego thing that goes together then has some slime somewhere about on it. Reduced from £10 to £4. birthday present for youngest son (actually must go and hide it before he comes home from school)

And also a gift pack of "Old Tart" wine with a cork screw in. should have been a tenner, reduced to £3. You can't even buy the wine on it's own for that price.
I'm on "Old Tart" wine tonight:w00t:
