Patsy 31-12-2005, 11:50 AM Wot, no 5 Star? :shocking:
Dolores 31-12-2005, 11:55 AM Well I've got 7 out of the top 20. :bye:

lol! me neither .. or though they are all great albums.
btw - I don't have any Beatles or Radiohead which makes up 35% of the list!
I have no idea what radio head sound like ... am I missing out?

Not in my opinion - although, obviously, some would argue. IMO they are a 2nd rate sort of sub Pink Floyd type band (I suspect that I may be in a minority on this though!!)
Patsy 31-12-2005, 12:39 PM Music to slash your wrists to.
I only have one of that Top 20, so they must be rubbish. :wink2:
JakeyBoy 31-12-2005, 02:19 PM Nope, I don't agree with any of the so called top 20
Bella 31-12-2005, 04:19 PM I have got 3 - OK Computer which is actually Mr B's and I have Oasis Definitely Maybe and REM - Automatic for the People and those 2 are the only ones that I would recommend. Haven't really listened to Radiohead so can't comment on that one but as for the others............:bag:
Too hard!
I have no idea what I'd choose as my favourite album.
But I do agree with Q Poll re the Radiohead albums - they are both fantastic, although I would say The Bends is better than OK Computer.
floopy 31-12-2005, 08:29 PM Don't think I could pick one either, but
12. The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
has got to be up there IMO
bridge 05-01-2006, 04:58 PM Oasis and Beatles should be there but the others are pants.
what about Meatloaf's 'Bat out of hell' ? one of the best albums ever.
Patsy 06-01-2006, 03:10 PM Totally agree, Bridge. Certainly my favourite. What about Rumours, Fleetwood Mac?

another great album that.
survivorfan 06-01-2006, 05:28 PM You have to ask, given that people can come to blows over a question like this, what is meant by best album - best in what way? Unless you can say, the question becomes sort of un-answerable.
floopy 06-01-2006, 07:54 PM I suppose they mean your desert island disc, SF. In which case I think I'd have to go for Elgar's Cello Concerto, or Purcell's Dido & Aeneas.
See, I'm well classy, me. :pimp:
Patsy 06-01-2006, 08:00 PM I think I'd probably choose something a bit less in your face than Bat out of Hell then, in that case. Maybe something like Billy Joel's Stranger album. Or Santana's Moonflower. Europa as the sun sets. Oh yes.
There again, this is the woman who almost climaxed in the car on the way home, listening to The Sweet's Wigwam Bam!
Easily pleased, me. :kid:

What happens when they play their "Little Willy"?:naughty:
Islandman 06-01-2006, 10:13 PM I don't have any of those albums i'm afraid..lol...nor have I heard all of them. But I've heard most of U2's music at various times and would agree that they probably have some of the best albums ever.
As for my pick for best album....there are very few albums I can even listen to all the way thru...which i think is essential for best album...and the one i can listen to most is Shakira's unplugged album. It's absolutely brilliant, IMO. But I highly doubt anyone would ever call that the best album. lol
I think in most of these polls like this they too often default to the same artists...like the beatles.
Woodstock 07-01-2006, 10:48 AM Wot, no 5 Star? :shocking:
....hope you're being serious 'cos i thought they were ace.
"......the slightest touch......and i go crazeeee with desire.........can't wait.......can't wait......another minute..........rain or shine.....you'll always beee.....one in a million.....my....."
.......sorry - just a wee Five Star medley there.
Ahhh those 5p lunchtime discos!!......never went to a single one of 'em.......
Woodstock 07-01-2006, 10:51 AM My select five from that list would be......
3. Nirvana - Nevermind
7. R.E.M. - Automatic For The People
12. The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
15. Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon
16. The Verve - Urban Hymns
.....just can't believe Black Lace never made that top 20 - shameful.
bridge 08-01-2006, 01:52 PM after buying ELO's album i would have to add them too, it's great!
after buying ELO's album i would have to add them too, it's great!
Which one?
msgirl 08-01-2006, 11:20 PM Fleetwood Mac's Rumours is primo!
Tears For Fears' Sowing the Seeds of Love
Ac/DC's Back in Black
Styx The Grand Illusion
James Taylor Sweet Baby James
.................some of my top picks..............
JakeyBoy 09-01-2006, 01:47 PM I can think of a top 10:
1: Green Day - nimrod. (or Dookie, not too sure)
2: MeatLoaf - Bat out of Hell
3: MeatLoaf - Dead Ringer
4: Green Day - American Idiot
5: Green Day: Kerplunk!
6: Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bullocks
7: My Chemical Romance - I'd probably make my own album with the songs I like on there because they don't have any albums which I could listen to all the songs.
8: Green Day - Insominac
9: Green Day: 1039/Smoothed out Slappy Hours
10: Operation Ivy - Same thing as MCR... Green Day - Insominac
1: Green Day - nimrod. (or Dookie, not too sure)
Dookie's better than Nimrod, imo!
JakeyBoy 10-01-2006, 12:46 AM Yeah, it is their best selling album
