View Full Version : shipwrecked
kookycat 03-01-2006, 08:46 PM im surprised not one survivor nut has mentioned this programme at all! shipwrecked is coming back and its gone a bit survivor like this time round. there's two islands and the shipwrecked are split onto the different islands and each week there's a new inhabitant and the teams have to win the newbie over who decides which island they stay on. island with the most inhabitants wins!!
methinks it will be a bit survivor meets the oc, starts on t4 this sunday i think.
Andrea 03-01-2006, 10:06 PM Ooh Kooks, sounds a good one.
I've not seen anything about this, will be on the lookout.
I hadn't seen anything about it either, but I am definitely going to be on the lookout for it as it sounds good!
Edit to say that I have just checked next week's tv guide and it starts on E4 on Sunday at 12.55pm and finishes at 3pm!
I thought this had finished forever! I watched the other ones and fairly enjoyed thems o I'll tune into this series too.
Dolores 04-01-2006, 04:34 PM I will be watching too ...ooops I'm at maxine's on Sunday! i will tape it.
maybe if we're really good and really interesting about it Haydon will let us have our own section! hint! hint! :naughty:
Haydon 06-01-2006, 09:41 AM Sounds good. Thanks for the post Kookycat. Yes I'll set up a section for it.
Is it just on E4 - and not one of the main channels?
Can someone post a note in the calendar pretty please. (must get you lot using the calendar more!) :)
Popsicle 10-01-2006, 09:59 PM I spotted this was on Channel 4 on Sunday, after ("Celebrity Big Brother's Little Brother") I also thought the series was long gone, so I was quite pleased top see it back.
"Shipwrecked 2006 - Battle of the Islands" is indeed much more "Survivor" like, although I would have quite liked to see the selection process. We just saw them arriving at the islands. Each week a new castaway will arrived, and, after spending 3 days at each island, will have to choose which tribe (Tigers or Sharks) they wish to join. The island/tribe with the most castaways on it at the end of 5 months will win £70,000.
This Sunday the show is on at 1.05pm, again after the lovely Dermot...
Is it only on on Sundays? I remember the last series was on around dinner time every week night on Ch 4.
Andrea 10-01-2006, 10:35 PM Oh I forgot about this:wallbash:
maxine 11-01-2006, 06:36 AM I watched it! I quite enjoyed it but I'll probably forget it's on.
Geoff made me laugh. Very irritating to live with but hilarious watching him wind the others up.
Crawford and Chris - very nice.
I would've picked the same island that Alara went for but I reckon the new guy will pick the other island for the girlies.
Haydon 12-01-2006, 11:06 AM Oh I forgot about this:wallbash:
Now you see if it had been added to the calendar you could have set an email reminder! You would have been sent an email, which would have reminded you it was on and you wouldn't have such a sore head from banging it against a wall. :p
Use the calendar and the reminder facility everyone - it really is useful if you want to see something.
btw... I missed it as well.
Dolores 14-01-2006, 08:57 AM I see this is repeated today at 11.50am on C4.
Although I taped it and was rather admiring of myself for remembering to tape it ...unfortunately I taped over it before I'd watched it!!! d'oh!
Sorry for those who missed it and for whom this message comes a bit late.
I shall be doing my ironing to it! oh deep joy!
I watched this for the first time last sunday and really enjoyed it.
Its on NOW infact.....rushes to set sky...done...how is this shown then, is it just weekends and will todays shows be repeated tomorrow or are they 2 different shows.
Not sure who I fancy the most yet.
maxine 14-01-2006, 05:24 PM Not sure who I fancy the most yet.
Out of Crawford and Chris? Or would you include John? Or even Geoff? It's a toss between Crawford and Chris for me.
Dolores 14-01-2006, 06:01 PM I enjoyed this show. But I've got a few questions.
1. when are you going to give it it's own section Haydon! :naughty:
2. surely if the island with the most people on it wins then from now on people would always choose the Tiger Island to give them selves a chance of winning .... they all seem to know the rules, so surely it makes sense to go for the island with the higher numbers!
3. 70 thousand between well, loads and loads of them! is it worth it?
4. five months! five months! that's an incredible amount of time to be on an island away from families etc.
5. where did the guys get the outfits from for the full monty skit? have they got a dressing up box!
6. where are they getting their food from?
Have to say Geoff was INTENSLY irritating ... but it looks like they are stuck with him for FIVE months!
I would have gone on the Tiger's island too. The Sharks laid back attitidue to the shelter was really annoying, no wonder the fiesty one (cant' remember her name) was fed up, they need to occupy themselves.
I will be watching again!
Just saw it there - not sure if it was a repeat of the first episode or what. But I enhoyed it. I like the idea of trying to get new people to join the camp. Creates lots of tension and fights!
And I have to say that Niff seems like the sort of person I would not get on with.
PS - Haydon, I agree. I think it should have its own section on here. Go on, you know you want to...
Dolores 14-01-2006, 06:08 PM Out of Crawford and Chris? Or would you include John? Or even Geoff? It's a toss between Crawford and Chris for me.
for goodness sake calm down dear! :shocking: i now have a vision of you on the island chasing those young men round it like a female Benny Hill!!!! :kid:
Really getting into this now. Like the new chap he's going to whip the sharks into shape isn't he. And the new girl is turning out to be a bit of a Jodie isn't she.
Oh and what was Geoff on doing the back stroke swimming to the raft...or not swimming to the raft as it turned out. Was it him who hid the matches last week, bit of a tosser really isn't he.
Just started watching this and enjoyed it although it is like survivor for 5 year olds.
I'm so jealous though, five months!
I'm so jealous though, five months!
I don't know if I could stand 5 months of waking up every morning and doing nothing on a paradise island (exp if I was the group that Niff and Geoff are in). It sounds like heaven but in the longrun I think it'd just get incredibly boring and tedious. Are they going to have tasks and stuff to do to win treats like in Survivor?
maxine 16-01-2006, 01:04 PM I'm quite enjoying this so far. I think Katie is so lovely. A daughter to be proud of.
I'm sure the reason for Kev choosing the island he did was because he thought there was more chance of him being a leader.
Haydon 17-01-2006, 09:30 AM New shipwrecked section now open - http://www.survivor-online.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=43
If are few threads are created it might move into the "Spotlight".
Very good haydon! Why don't you move this thread into it?
Dolores 18-01-2006, 10:20 PM i missed this on Sunday morning, but I'm hoping to catch the repeat next weekend and so I'll be able to gush forth about it then.
thanks for giving us a slot in TV Haydon
Woo hoo...well done H.
Can we also have one for America's Next Top Model and Project Catwalk.
I hate Kev from the Sharks. He wasn't even one of the originals but now seems to think he's the boss. A nice knee to the nads wouldn't go amiss.
Dolores 29-01-2006, 01:29 PM I hate Kev from the Sharks. He wasn't even one of the originals but now seems to think he's the boss. A nice knee to the nads wouldn't go amiss.
i haven't seen today's episode yet, but the only reason he chose the Sharks was so he could be Mr Alpha Male!
maxine 29-01-2006, 05:23 PM I felt really sorry for Geoff, and thought the Tigers, well, Alara and Badoo, were right mean not giving the guy a chance. How must he have felt knowing that no-one really wanted him? He's not so bad.
The new guy, James, seemed a bit of an ar$e. I know we only saw him for a couple of minutes but his shirt coupled with his chauvenistic comments really got my goat!
And John - what's with the speedos??
Woodstock 30-01-2006, 08:33 PM If television is an ocean, then i hope this particular programme gets "shipwrecked"!
"Oooohh let's pass him through the auditions - he's got a nice body. Ooohh my!, she'd be great - she has magnificent boobs. Oooohh he's got a posh voice and seems very leaderly....and i also fancy him like nobody's business....ooohh let's give him the opportunity......ooohhh and she's my neice's best friend....so she's automatically passed her audition......"
The usual "cross-section" of top totty and bronzed males with either bleach-blonde hair or dark Vidal Sasoon hairdos, and a token half-caste Black male with green eyes thrown in for good measure - not forgetting the young brunette lady who is a PA to a very well-known PR guy...
WHY IS IT UGLY PEOPLE NEVER GET SHIPWRECKED??...... EH??
.....I want a go! (and yes, i haven't seen any of it yet!)
And if they truly got shipwrecked.....they would all die within seventeen hours, i can betcha!
They ain't got nothin' on Oliver Reed...or Theresa Russell....or Brooke Shields....or Tom Hanks...
WHY IS IT UGLY PEOPLE NEVER GET SHIPWRECKED??...... EH??
Have you seen Charlie from The Tigers? :ninja:
Woodstock 30-01-2006, 08:39 PM Have you seen Charlie from The Tigers? :ninja:
oh lord!, please don't make me watch it......:wallbash: .......please.....
....I'd never forgive myself....
I hate Kev from the Sharks. He wasn't even one of the originals but now seems to think he's the boss. A nice knee to the nads wouldn't go amiss.
Kev is my fave so far, tasche aside - whats all that about then - so no knee's to the nads please PJ.
The new boy looks like Scooby..he's getting everywhere that boy. Is Scoobs a DJ as well as fashion designer?
