View Full Version : Football season 2004/05
Only by the skin of their teeth Fly, only by the skin of their teeth! Still we needed a point to stay up and a point was what we got!
Well done to Preston for getting into the play off's and I hope they do well. West Ham (tigger767's team) are in them as well, so I will be willing that one of them is promoted!
Andrea's team Norwich did well this weekend and now it is in their own hands if they stay up. Fingers crossed for them!
Patsy 09-05-2005, 08:09 PM Yes, really pleased for the Canaries.
And the Gunners beat the Champions League finalists 3-1. The boys are back!

Good win, Patsy

I'd hardly say they're "back" they only beat Everton 7-0 and didn't look to be playing well at all.
(And if you need telling, yes, I AM being sarcastic)
Patsy 12-05-2005, 09:47 AM A truly wonderful spectacle, you must agree.

I do Patsy - it was fantastic!
Andrea 14-05-2005, 10:35 PM Last Saturday we arrived at the caravan park at 4pm, I went to the site shop to buy some milk and heard their radio say that Norwich were winning, I asked the guy behind the till did I hear right, and he said yes.
Then I asked him if he knew the score of the Southampton/Palace game, he told me and I was like, yes, brilliant.
He must have thought, we've got a mad one in here.
And actually the manager of the entertainments team was a tractor boy, booooo, and when we won the quiz one night he said our winnings was a season ticket to watch Ipswich :w00t:
Edited to say I'm going to be on the edge of my seat tomorrow, sky are actually putting the fulham/norwich match on tv.

I will be routing for your boys Andrea!
Andrea 15-05-2005, 07:23 PM
It wasn't a good day for Norwich  or Southampton :D or Crystal Palace :D but a great day for West Brom, all credit to them!
*ils is so very happy that local rivals, Southampton & Crystal Palace were relegated :D*
Here's hoping that either Preston (Flyo) or West Ham (Tigger767) gets promoted to the Premiership!
Well done to West Ham getting to the play off's, a couple of cracking goals by Bobby Zamora (ex Brighton Player)...
Looks like it's mine or Tiggs' team going up...
Not the best of games last night but the important thing is that we won overall! YAY!!
Well done to your team Flyo!
I will be torn at the final as to who to support! I only wish you could both go up!
Andrea 20-05-2005, 12:03 PM Yeh, well done to Preston:thumbsup:
Looks like we'll be playing the tractor boys next season, bring it on.
tigger 20-05-2005, 12:35 PM The final should be a good game. Jamie is going to Cardiff YAY for him!
Andrea 20-05-2005, 12:44 PM Ooh Tiggs, I didn't realise West Ham were your team.
Well done to you for getting to the final, and for keeping those tractor boys down:w00t:
Jamie is going to Cardiff YAY for him!
He will have a great time!
tigger 20-05-2005, 01:18 PM Yep I am a West Ham fan, just maybe not as vocal about it on the board. But I love footie and do follow it. I'm looking forward to the game, and Jamie is ecstatic. I would go too, but I don't think I could stand all that journey to Cardiff on a Bank Holiday Monday!

I don't blame you Tiggs, when we went to the Millennium stadium last year for the play off's the journey was horrendous!
I have to say West Ham looked pretty decent in the semis. They're gonna be hard to beat! I'm hopefully going to Cardiff if I can get a ticket.
Does anyone know how far the Millenium Stadium is from Cardiff Central station?
It is not far at all Fly....
Miss ils says it is about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the gate but you can actually see it as you come out of the station!
Andrea 23-05-2005, 12:59 PM When is the final being played?
Is it this Saturday and is it on Sky?
We are going to cancel our sky sports but if this is on at the weekend I might just wait until after that.

I think it is on Bank Holiday Monday, 31st May, Andrea. No idea of whether it is on Sky though, but some how I think it will be!
tigger 23-05-2005, 02:44 PM oooh I can't wait and am getting all kinds of silly excited. :kid:

LOL Tiggs, I know how you feel as I was just like that, this time last year!!!
Aberdeen finished fourth - pretty good considering we were second bottom last year!!

Yes, Mr P reckons about a 10 minute walk.
Coastie 30-05-2005, 09:16 PM Oh dear Fly....
Next year, Fly, next year
Nooo.... a whole season brought down to just one goal. And so we spend another year (and probably much longer) in division one. If west ham had lost then they'd have been back next year, but that was Preston's chance, we won't finish that high next season. Congrats Tiggs.
I hear Brighton won the Coca-Cola £250,000... that should help you a lot ils!

Gelastic 31-05-2005, 11:09 PM So I figure if people (mentioning no names) can go into the BB section when they dislike BB I can come in here and say -
Ugh, football is hideous, I reckon it should be banned for at least a season or two. :wallbash:
