When Locke, Jack and Kate heard the "thing" and Jack and Kate ran off, Locke went towards it. We saw things exploding out of the ground and Locke fall to the ground looking up with a scared expression on his face (presumably at the "thing"). Then when he was dragged along by it you heard a kind of clanking noise like machinery. He was dragged half into that hole in the ground and told Jack to let him go, and that he would be OK.

Jack then told Kate to throw the dynamite down the hole (which I thought was stupid cos it could have blown Locke's legs off if it hadn't been very deep and I don't remember them having time to assess how deep it was).

Anyway, my point is that Locke has now seen what it is (well logic tells you that he has) but no mention was made of what he saw! Doesn't this seem odd!

I remember thinking that when I saw the last episode before Christmas (from the ones that my son downloaded and copied onto DVD for me). I caught the repeat of this episode the other day and it still struck me that this was strange. Have I missed something?

I use Real Player Andrea and it works fine on there. I think you can get a free download of it but not sure. I've looked on sites that say "download now" but I don't want to do it in case it mucks up the one I've got so I don't know whether they are free programs or trial versions or pay ones.

Give it a try though. I think there are loads of other media players out there that will work. It wouldn't work on Windows Media Player.

You don't need anything special on your computer do you? Like a tv card or something. But then I think, I watched clips of other stuff on the real player so no idea why this won't work.
Aww well, will just have to wait until easter.

I was just about to post the same thing Aondeag! I saw my first ad and it said it starts in February. It said (with rather dramatic music and big bold letters) that in the first three minutes of the first episode we find out what's going on!

It DOES answer questions tho'.............

The commerical only said Feb 2006.

I've seen up to Episode 10 of the second series - just trying to download 11 but it's a bit slow and keeps "waiting on busy hosts" so dunno how long it will take to get.
