I got 7/10 and found myself at the top of the score board...I have had to consume a whole jam doughnut in one to counteract the shock of it all!

So do I have to log out as mazwad first as I can't see anywhere to do as you suggest, sorry bit thick here need further instructions.

Tried that and it worked thanks for the new one SB harder but never mind keeps the grey matter in action.

Although we see the results in seconds the quiz also works out scores in fractions of seconds. Crit must has just been a fraction of a second in front :thumbsup:

Yes we normally get different questions but on the odd occasion they are the same. It`s to stop people using double identities from cheating.

Flipping heck - I hardly ever get 10 and if I do then I take too long so never get a win, but today I sailed through the questions and thought I'd at least have a decent time but when I clicked "Submit Answers" (or whatever it says) the flipping page hung there and I thought it was going to "time out". I was hoping it took the time from when you first click but it obviously doesn't so.... 170 seconds :w00t:

I am in shock and awe. Tigereye, congrats on your recent scores but HOW ON EARTH can you manage 10 questions in under 50 secs? That's like 2 1/2 secs to read the question, and 2 secs to think of the answer and click on it. And that doesn't take into acoount time spent scrolling down. It takes me all of 5 seconds just to read the question. how do you do it?

thanks for the congrats SF, but I'm one of the slowest on the board!! It amazes me how peeps can even read the questions that quick, never mind answer them. my one fast time was due to:
no boss in office
no phone rang
no baseball / american footballer questions
no american literature questions
mostly short questions

sometimes they just fall right for you. You get quicker with practice so keep on trucking, and don't forget to scroll down using 'page down' button with left hand.....

My point is, if that is an independant clause and you take it away it reads

Crit - It's an independant clause because it is a full sentance whereas the other two are not.

The remaining clauses don't have to make sense read together for the middle one to be independant.

I'm impressed by how consistently well some people do, I'm usually caught out by the ones on movies and obscure US sports figures, there's usually a couple like that each time.

I'm impressed by how fast some people can get through it. I didn't think I was a particularly slow reader but some of the questions are a good paragraph long. How do people do it in 40 odd seconds? The only time I've ever been really quick was when I got the same set of questions on here and on another group so I didn't have to read them, but now the categories are different so I can't even cheat :D

You need to learn to skim read the questions and try to pick out the main words that you need to answer the question. Sometimes I can be realy quick and others the question just won`t sink in with me and sometimes I read it totally wrong so mark the answer wrong.

Well look I don't disbelieve you Rob but I'm still sceptical. Mainly about being able to skim and digest a question that fast, but good for you if you can.

But - you say you did today's quiz in 30 something seconds - I think that's twice as fast as you normally take. That's a bit like consistently swimming ten lengths as quickly as you can in 5 minutes then one day suddenly doing it in 2 1/2 minutes - it just doesn't happen that way.

What was different about today's quiz that let you do it so fast?

I quite often do the thing in around 30-40 seconds - Yesterday I was 54 seconds - which is actually quite slow for me - check my usual times - maybe I'm just a fast reader!

Today was not really different from most other days - yesterday was the exception - mind you I got 10 yesterday - maybe I should take more time ................
